Chapter 8 08

Eyes were all on the three of us as we walked the stairs. Today is about us and nobody else. It is our time to shine and enjoy ourselves just like mother said.

"You look dashing my dear." My godmother whispered in my ears and I blushed in return.

She knows how to use her words on someone. "Thank you." I replied back to her.

Chin up, a smile plastered on the face was what I told myself. There is no why i will feel insecure about myself today.

I was later called by father to meet some new set of people that came from some pack close to us. "This is my daughter, Callisto and dewdrops, this is the Alpha of Lichen packs, Alpha of dark moon pack and that of Midnight Dawn" he introduced pointing at each of them.

I only nodded my head at them before I opened my mouth to say my greetings. "Oh, I can remember when she was born." The Alpha of Dark moon pack exclaimed and I couldn't help the fact that I was blushing.

After the greetings and introduction, I was asked to go by my father. I was actually starting to feel uncomfortable standing there with them. "I wish Gerald had come here. The boy was so adamant to stay with a witch that doesn't even know how to cast a proper spell." I heard the Alpha of Lichen complained.

This Gerald must be his soon and also the future Alpha or else he won't be worried about he is mated to. "The Alpha of the fourth region is so dashing. Heard his wife dead and since then, he didn't remarry. I would love to fill that space." Den said ogling at the said Alpha.

And it happened to be Alpha of Lichen. "Oh you mean him? The Alpha of Lichen?" I asked taking a sip of my water.

Due to how nervous I am, I get thirsty easily. It is kind of some thing I inherited from mother because she does that too, all the time.

"Yes and I can't believe we are going there to complete our studies. This is great." She exclaimed happily.

I smiled at how naive she was to be ogling at someone old enough to be her father or maybe grandfather. "Yay, it is nice." I faked a squeal.

Observing my surrounding, I couldn't find Aaron. "Where did this crackhead went to now?" I questioned.

"How will I know when I am here with you?" She said a I don't know sign with her hands. I sighed, he obviously doing something he is not meant to be doing.

I smiled sighting Scott in the crowd. I had sent him an invite some days back and he replied with a letter saying he is more than enthusiastic to attend the ball.

I waved my hands, urging him to come to us. "Scott, you made it." I said pulling him into a side hug.

"Yes, you had my words when I did said I will make it." He chuckled returning my hugs before he turned to his attention to Den.

I could see her flipping her hair back in flirting manner. "You look breathtaking Den, do you mind if I have this dance?0 he asked seductively and I took that a cue to take my leave.

I would possibly disturb them from what they intent to do. Scott has informed me that he believes that Den is his mate because his wolf always screams out loudly when he is with her.

He is finding it hard to tell her because he is not sure of how she would take it. He wants to tell her when she is calm and ready for it which I suggested he do it today.

It is among one of the days Den will forever remember. She said so herself too and I an saying that on her behalf.

"You invited him" Aaron questioned annoyed.

"Sure, why not? He is our friend, of course." I told him before I left him. I could see a fair girl sending him a look his way.

"Look there is something I have to tell you. And I have to say it tonight, so do you want me to say it now or after the coming of age." He furred his brows.

I thought for a while before replying him. "After, because I don't think I will be able to concentrate on what you are saying now." I informed.

"I thought as much too. So after the coming of age it is. Bye." With that he left.

I watched as his shadow and that of the fair girl disappeared into the hidings. I wonder what they are up to or who the girl is?

It is something I want to know, i care about him and I want to be sure he is not getting himself into trouble because he is someone I hold dearly to my heart.

I was planing on following them but they would definitely want their privacy and I don't want it to seem like I still love Aaron.

No I have moved already and whatever he does have no effects on me. Unlike before, that I would sit alone in the bathroom tub and cry my eyes out wondering why he rejected me.

"What are you thinking about my princess." I heard my mother's voice asked behind me.

"Nothing mother. It just seems like everything is moving fast and I will be leaving you and the pack in a week. It is just hard to believe." I whispered.

She lifted my chin. "I know my dear, I know. It happens all the time but you have to do it. It is what your hearts desires. I made your father speaks to the Alpha of Lichen so that he will provide you with maids, guards and shelter which he agrees too. You are safe my princess." She comforted and I found peace in her voice.
