Chapter 6 Dream

"Kai! Help me!, Pls help me!"

"Kai!!, Don't let me die pls!"

"Who's that, mum! dad!?" Kai's breath was heavy, he's been running for like an hour, he keep hearing voices that calls him for help, he couldn't make out who they were.

"Kai!!!, Pls!" Multiple voices were echoing his name.

Kai was already tired, his head throbs as if he fell on a rock, his eyes stings him due to the moist in the air, everywhere was dark and he couldn't see a thing, the voices keep resonating and they were piercing into Kai's ear like it wants him to go deaf.

"Who's...there?" Kai forced himself to say something cause he was breathing very fast and heavily, all his body was already paining him, he fell to the ground trying to get hold of his breath.

Suddenly everything went silent, Kai was no longer hearing the voices again, he was surprised, he looked around hoping he would see something or somebody but everywhere was dark.

"Kai" A deep voice called him.

Kia looked up immediately and saw a man in a black silver kimono with a stick torch in his hand, his face was covered with a black mask. Kai's breath has eased a little bit and he was able to talk.

"Who are you?" Kai asked him. The man ignored Kai's question and draw out a katana which was stained with blood, Kai freaked out when he saw it.

"Who are you" Kai's voice was filled with fear, he started crawling back, the man ignored him, Kai stood up in a flash and took off, he didn't know where he was running to, all he wants was to escape from the dreadful man he saw, immediately the man appeared before him, a dark soot-like substance started to rise from his body in a spiral manner, he started walking close to Kai, Kai turned his back and wanted to run off again but this time something like a whip went through his leg making him fall to the ground, the dark whip-like substance started to go round his body tying him round and round.

Kai was frightened at the sight of this, the man started coming close to him staggering, he raised his katana.

"Live in chaos boy!" He yelled as he brought down the katana to strike Kai.

"Arghhhhh" Kai screamed as he woke up with force, his body was already soaked with sweat.

"It was just a dream" He exhaled. He looked through his window and noticed the sun is down, he checked his alarm clock and it was just 5 o'clock. He rubbed his eyes and get down from the bed, he walked to the bathroom, each movement he makes aches him, he haven't forgotten the beating he got.

Kai turned on the tap and cupped a little water which he splashed on his face, the water felt so cold.

"I guess a hot shower will do," Kai said as he turned off the tap, the cold water got him shivering but it was summer, Kai sighed, he looked up at the mirror, his light skin was bright but some bruises were visible.

"Those assholes" Kai exhaled, not long his stomach growled, that was when Kai knew he didn't take lunch after he returned from school, he pulled off his clothes still massaging his aching body as he entered the bathtub.

"Kai, it's dinner time" Mrs Kikuchi announced.

Kai cleaned himself up, wore his clothes and trodded down the stairs.

"Hi ma," Kai said as he sat down on the dining chair, Mrs Kikuchi noticed that Kai didn't dry his hair.

"Kai, what's with your hair," Mrs Kikuchi asked him.

"I didn't get to dry it," Kai said with a mouthful of rice, he was really hungry.

"I'm not asking for your opinion Kai, next time dry your hair and look responsible," His mother said but this time she was already frowning.

"Ok ma," Kai said.

Kai's father sneaked in through the kitchen door, he was putting on a shirt that says happy birthday Kai, he came closer to kai with a kazoo.

" Happy birthday Kai!" He said as he blew the kazoo right at Kai's left ear.

Kai yelped as he stood from the chair holding his ear, the buzzing sound of the kazoo pierced deeply into his eardrums.

"What was that for?!" Kai cried still holding his ear, he feel like scratching his eardrums cause the buzzing sound is itchy.

Meanwhile, Kai's mother was laughing together with her husband.

"Happy birthday son," Kai's father said midst of laughter. His mother went and got the cake that she have baked for Kai.

"Same flavour as always" Kai sighed, this time he was already sitting down still poking his left ear.

"Did I hear something?" Kai's mother smiled as she dropped the cake on the dining table.

"Tadaaa!" His father pulled out the wrap which was on the cake, he didn't even wait for his wife to surprise Kai.

"Kumiko!" Kai's mother snapped.

"It's ok darling, let's not keep the surprise waiting, Kai as you can see it's not a usual flavour this time" Kai's father was all jumpy.

"Oh, that's choux cream puff flavour, it doesn't look like a surprise" Kai smirked.

"Choux cream" Kai's father mumbled, he put his finger in the cake getting some amount of flavour which he put in his mouth.

"Well it's still delicious," Kai's father said with enthusiasm.

"Kumiko!" Mrs Kikuchi snapped again, she took the cake away from her husband's reach.

Kai was through with his dinner, he doesn't want to get along with his parents arguing.

"Keep a slice for me," Kai said, he walked outside to have some air, the dream which he had earlier flashed into his mind, fear gripped him.

"It was just a dream" Kai assured himself, he looked at the moon and the stars, he smiled, immediately he heard some cracking noise of fireworks, he looked in the direction where it came from and he saw people dancing in cultural styles.

"Aomori nebuta matsuri festival"

Takeshita street was busy that night, heavy traffic got the air messed up, cars were honking and some people got out of their cars to get some air.

A man in a black suit walked into a large building which has about 25 floors, he entered the elevator, not too long he got out in front of a large hallway designed with a roll of red log on its floor. He walked straight to the end of the hallway which led to a room.

Knock knock

"Who's there?" A large deep voice replied from the inside.

"A messenger from Detective Doylestown," The man said.

Immediately the door opened, two men were standing at the two sides of the doorpost, they motioned him to walk in.

" Hello Duke, I got a message for you," The man said as he brought out a letter and placed it on the table right before the Duke.

The Duke picked up the letter, he opened it and smiled mischievously.

"Some new mercenaries, prepare the chopper, we're going to meet Doylestown, the hunt resumes" He smirked.
