Ryan thought that Nadine was one of those girls that crushed on Nathan and didn't want him to get married. He laughed and mocked her as she cried. "How can a ugly woman like her want a man of high statue. Oh gosh, If wishes were horses!" he laughed before he continued his work. Nadine made sure she cried her heart out then promised herself that it will be the last time she would cry for a man like Nathan. She left the lobby for her office where she booked the two escort Ryan had requested. After some hours of working she got off work and went to Ryan's office to say goodbye for the day.

However, Ryan stopped her and told her to seat which she obeyed. She didn't know what the spoilt son of Raymond Empire wanted this time. Then Ryan raised his head, he looked at her, he looked at her so well for a long time that Nadine was starting to think he found her out. "Sir!" she took her face away from him. "Maybe you are not so ugly." he smiled as he said this. Nadine looked at him, she didn't know whether to blush or slap the man's face already. "Thank you sir. Can I go now?" she asked looking at him. Ryan frowned, how can she not want to be around him? Every woman would beg to be around him and she was in a hurry to leave. How ridiculous! "Be my escort," he said without looking at her. Nadine said nothing, it was as if she didn't hear him well. "I have booked two escorts for you like you requested," she replied without looking at him. Ryan raised his head, he was amazed that she didn't jump up or go frenzy like other girls would have if they heard him say that. This made him yearn for her more. "I want you to be my escort. Rather, I want to take you with me to the party," he said, his eyes on her with his green eyes sparkling directly at her. She raised her head to him and said, "Sir, that won't be possible. I am too ugly to be seen as your escort." "Nothing money and makeover cannot do," he replied with a mischievous smile. Nadine felt irritated. Aside from that, she knew if Ryan went ahead with his plan, the ugly mask she had given herself will be revealed and he would know she was the same girl from Australia. "Your escorts will be with you soon, sir." She stood up and picked her bag. Ryan stared at her until she was out of sight. He felt very displeased because he had never been ignored by a woman in his life. He was rich and handsome and he could pull any woman even the most beautiful women not to talk of the ugly ones. Nadine took a cab and arrived home. Grandma had already slept after eating a preserved food. While watching her from the sofa, her phone rang. Nadine quickly picked up because it was the agent calling. "Nadine, there is a night job at the eastern garden, why don't you come? If the owners are well impressed, you can make thousand dollars," he said. Nadine was so excited when she heard this. She believed with that she will be able to make more money and buy more drugs for her grandmother. Without resting, she went to the bathroom, freshen up before going to the location. Nadine walked in immediately and joined the crew who were in charge of the food and drinks. She was given the waitress uniform and she began her work immediately. Nadine was so excited doing her work. She had just started clearing the table of some exquisite people when someone walked up to her. "Nadine?" called the woman. Nadine raised her head and looked at the woman. She was shocked when she saw Claire Moore, Nathan's mother. "Why are you here, Nadine?" Claire asked before her eyes travelled to the uniform she was putting on. "Mother in law!" Nadine's voice was so loud everyone near the table heard her. They began to whisper words to themselves which displeased Claire. "How can you be so naive to call me mother in law in front of these people? Can't you see you and I are different now?" Claire talked derisively. Nadine was amazed, she didn't believe Claire could ever talk to her in such manner. However, it was very true. Claire's standard had changed so much Nadine could almost not recognise her. She wore better clothes now and her skin was dazzling under the warm light. Nadine didn't realise that Claire never liked her and always wished Nathan chose a rich lady like kate. "Mother in law..." Nadine was ingenious so she called Claire again unconsciously only for Claire to raise her hand and hit her hard on the face. Nadine eyes widened while her mouth stuck open, she looked at Claire in shock. She found it hard to believe that Claire had just hit her. Memories of how she used all of her savings money to buy drugs for Claire and when she worked day and night to pay her hospital bills built up in her head. Tears streamed down her face as Claire looked at her with animosity. "Mother in law..." Kate Middleton ran to the scene. When she saw that Claire had hit Nadine, a smile formed on her face but she hid it well. "Mother in law, maybe because you are very nice, this waitress had taught she could trick you," Kate said. Nadine shook her head, the faint taste of blood hit her tongue and she licked it with bitterness. She was so sad, those whom she trusted and were suppose to be her family all turned their backs on her. "I see. Is this a movie? How can she regard a billionaire's mother as her own mother in law?" The exotic people around began to blame Nadine in the most terrible way. Since Nathan agreed to marry Kate and he took over the company, he had doubled and tripled the income so the wealth had increased much more than before making Nathan one of the richest man in America. "What is going on here?" Came the haughty voice from the back.
