Like flash, Charlotte walked past her, and blocked her way. She looked pale and sick, like there was something wrong. And why did she suddenly loose her hair? She was convinced there was something going on, which she was not aware of. First it was Aiden who suddenly had to leave, then Ava with her swollen eyes and now Charlotte with a pale skin. What the hell is going on?
"Where are you going?". Charlotte asked.
"Upstairs. Can't I go upstairs?".
She seemed to have thought about it, before reluctantly paving way for jenny to pass. Jenny walked upstairs, and pretended to be heading to her room. She closed the door behind her, and waited until she was sure Charlotte wasn't around the corridor.
Charlotte walked into the other room and slammed the door, locking it behind her. She somehow sensed Jenny was suspicious with the way she looked at her.
"Eric, run this test and get it over with". She said impatiently as she sat on the bed and stretched ger arms out. Turning to Ava, she asked "Where is my brother?".
"how am I supposed to know. I was in here and you two stormed out like you don't give a darn in the world". She scoffed. "now you're asking me".
The young man whose name was Eric checked her blood, temperature and let go of her hands afterwards
"Why did you pour your hair?". He asked calmly.
"None of your business". She replied as she got up and walked to the window.
"None of my business? ". He huffed. "Don't give me that silly attitude. Come on, tie your hair back up".
"I won't". She replied firmly.
"Charlotte, tie up your hair. I'm still yet to find a cure to this. Until then, you cannot loosen your hair else the poison spreads to the brain, and you might become mentally unstable".
" I am already mentally unstable ". She half yelled, turning to face him "So what's the worse that could happen afterwards. I'll die? Fine then, let me die. Its my life and I do whatever I please with it".
"Come on Charlie, don't be stubborn". Ava chipped.
"Ava, leave me alone. Charlotte don't do this, Charlotte don't do that, Charlotte, Charlotte, Charlotte". She shouted. "You know what, all of you are-". Eric didn't let her finish her statement when he sprayed something on her. She immediately lost consciousness and her body went limp, but Eric caught her just in time.
"She doesn't seem to be in her right state of mind". Eric explained after placing her on the bed.
"I agree". Ava gave him a knowing look.
Meanwhile, as Jenny wanted to emerge from the room, the door was pushed open-harshly- and she stumbled to the floor.
"Oh my, I didn't know you were there". Aiden apologized as he made little effort to help her up.
"oh, it's not your fault, I was at the door so..". She got up. "I'm fine". She assured him - not like he cared though.
"So why were you at the door?".
"I was heading out...to .. To look for you". She held him, pouting. "You seem not to have my time anymore".
"Its not like that". He peeled her hands off him.
"Then what? Since we got married we-".
"Ssh". He shushed before patting her head. "Don't worry, tonight". He whispered and she blushed.
"Alright". She replied.
"Lets go get some food. You'll need the energy". He said and she blushed again. She walked ahead of him and he rolled his eyes behind her, glaring at her as she walked out the door.
He shut his eyes and was about to groan when the door opened again, and she poked her head through. "Aren't you coming?". She asked.
"I'm coming". He replied, faking a smile.
They ate in a silence comfortable for Jenny, but uncomfortable for Aiden as her presence alone was making him loose his appetite. He wondered how he had been able to put up with the pretence for a year and six months. Having to wait for her, to fall in love with him. Anyways, they were now married and he was happy about it. Now, his revenge was at the brim.
If he did this, his sister would finally be at peace and he would be satisfied -at least partially. He won't be completely satisfied until she suffered just the way his sister did, which would take a long while before that would happen.
She was stealing glances at him, and smiling to herself while he kept his poker face. " Your sister looked pale a while ago. She didn't look good and Ava.. I noticed her eyes were red, probably from crying. Is everything okay?". She asked. She thought it'd be good to tell him her observations, in case they were having issues that couldn't be disclosed with her. At least, they could talk to Aiden about it.
Aiden's grip around the spoon tightened as he kept his face down, hiding his bloodshot eyes. "I think you should talk to them. I also saw a young man walk into the room they were in, and none of them have been out!". She continued even though she didn't get a reply for her previous question.
Aiden didn't say anything.. He was trying to calm himself, in order not to tear her apart right there, but she kept talking, infuriating him the more. He was loosing control of himself and his fangs were already out, he had to bring his hands under the table.
