Chapter 3 Loosing her mind

"You'll know soon enough". Aiden muttered underneath his breath.

"Huh? Did you say something?". She asked as she lifted her head to look at him

"yeah, I said you should forget about all that. She is always like that". He replied. She got out of bed and strode towards him. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she kissed him lightly on the lips. "Well, with time, she'll like me. Just like you. You fell in love with me". She said with a smile, swaying her body slightly.

'You wish'. He thought. His phone rang and he pushed her off ."Sorry, I need to take this call". He said. Even though she was startled by the sudden push, she nodded her head and he walked away to take the call.

As soon as he entered the bathroom , he answered the call.

"Good timing". He said to the caller.

"I know. I saw everything. You fell in love with her my foot". Ava scoffed. She was passing by the terrace, when she saw them conversing through the huge glass door of their room. She obviously eavesdropped and when she saw Jenny holding Aiden so affectionately, it irked her. She thought of how she could disrupt, and then she suddenly thought of calling him, which she did.

"That's her business. Like am I stupid or something? Fall for her?". He scoffed. " Oh please".

"yeah I know that. But let's leave her to daydream for a while. Come, come fast".she said, and before he could speak, she added "It can't be said over the phone". He cut the call and walked out of the bathroom.

Without a word, he took long strides towards the door, but stopped on hearing her annoying voice

"Where are you going?". She asked.

"I just wanna attend to something real quick". He replied and she nodded her approval. Not like he would stay if she asked him to.

"What? What's wrong?". Aiden asked as he entered the room.

" Your sister.. She's in that state again". Ava pointed.

"well then give her the shots". Aiden shouted as he searched the drawers for the injection..

" It's finished. No use searching. I checked already". Ava panicked. "its really bad this time. She's struggling to breath, her body is turning white and her eyes..". Tears rolled from her eyes. "I couldn't go in, even if I wanted to". Ava said as her body trembled.

"Where is she?". He asked.

"I locked her up in the bathroom". Ava replied, sniffing.

Aiden patted her shoulders, silently asking her to calm down., then he quickly rushed to the bathroom, unlocked it and rushed inside.

"Charlotte, Charlotte, calm down its me". He said, trying to approach her, but she was in a world of her own, as she attacked him, biting off the flesh in his arms. She devoured it, and licked her lips, while he tried to hold her steady. " Charlotte, please, listen to me. It's Aiden. Aiden..". He nodded as he saw she was scrutinizing him, probably trying to recognize him.

"I'm here for you. Please, calm down ". He couldn't hold back his tears as she pushed him away. He tried again, coming ever so gently, trying his best not to scare her. "Its me. Please stop this. ... Please". He begged.

As she attacked him once more, he gripped her tightly and hugged her, patting her head. "Charlotte". He called her. "Please be okay". He pleaded.

"Aiden?". Her voice was weak, and he could hear the sadness in her voice. He pulled away slightly and held her face.

"Charlotte? You're back... Oh, thank goodness". He said and hugged her even tighter.

As she realised she had misbehaved again, sobbed profusely. "It happened again didn't it? I gave you this wound didn't I?". She knew the answer already, and Aiden didn't bother answering. His silence told her everything.

"I became a monster again right?". She sobbed bitterly.

"No, no". He said, as he held her face. "You're not the monster. They are. They are the monsters..". He corrected.

Meanwhile, Jenny waited for Aiden but he didn't come. She got out of bed and walked out of the room, only to hear noises coming from the next room. She knocked on the door and the door flung open few seconds afterwards.

"Oh, Ava ".

"What do you want?". Her voice was cold and cracky, and her eyes were red and swollen like she was crying.

"I.. Heard some noises coming from this room.. Is everything okay? Are you okay?". She asked.

"I'm fine". Ava replied and attempted to shut the door but Jenny stopped her. Ava raised her brows at her

" I just wanted to know..uhm..is Aiden with you?".

"No". She replied coldly and slammed the door.

"What is wrong with these two ladies? Geez". She muttered before walking away.

Back in the bathroom, Charlotte was still sobbing. " You must take revenge on them for this". She said, whilst sobbing.

"of course, I will. I promise you sis, I will . Will you stop crying now?". He asked, wiping the tears off her face.

"I will not..". She loosened her hair. "Tie my hair until I get the revenge I want". She said with a serious face.

"But sis..". She stopped him from speaking.

"You won't change my mind". She said as she got up from the floor and walked out of the bathroom. He followed her behind, but she had already left the room.

" what happened?". Ava asked. "why did she loosen her hair. Isn't that..".

"Yes, if she stays for a month like that, She might loose her mind and her memory of every one". He replied. "Talk sense to her". He said before leaving.
