Chapter 4 The Shocking News(Four)

Mira's Pov:

" But why father? Why arranged marriage?" I asked my father, heartbroken. Who does arrange marriage these days, it is archaic.

"Mira, our pack is the weakest among these Americans," my father said sternly to me. I don't understand what the pack being the weakest has to do with this trauma that I found myself into.

"Father, what does the pack being the weakest have to do with this arrangement?" I asked my father.

"Our pack can be threatened by any other packs, they might want to challenge me for my Alpha position and this pack," he said to me. But let me get it straight, my father wants me to get married because of the pack, I can't believe it.

"Hey pull yourself together, we just can't conclude now, and besides though it looks like is true, we need to know the reasons," heaven said too calmly, I know she was trying to console me, and is fucking working, I need to calm my nerves.

"But father we can challenge any pack and you can't assume such a thing," I told my father with hope for him to reconsider this marriage.

"You don't expect me to wait until they challenge me, oh! no, that will be a huge disgrace to me," my father said placing his right hand on his chest faking hurt while I am the one feeling the pain.

"Dad, I am the one that is feeling hurt, betrayed, pained, and unloved here, not the other way round, you want me to marry a total stranger because of your pride and selfishness, that is the rarest excuse I have ever heard. What about my sisters, they haven't found their mates too and if you truly want to strengthen this pack as you said then Khloe is the right person for this marriage because she is the future alpha," I can't yell at my father, tears have already clouded my eyes.

Why can't they choose someone else, why me, why do bad omens always have to come for me.

"Shut the fuck up," my father roared at me making me whimper before he calmly sit down and said.

"Our pack needs the strongest alliance so that we can remove the shame from our face, and you Mira are very fit for our pack". I smiled sadly at him.

"And you have to go to your room and pack your clothes and other essential things you might need there," my father said to me without waiting for me to utter a word, but I can't allow them to do this to me.

"But father, why now, I just finished my birthday celebration, and besides you are just informing me about this marriage of a thing now, I need time to think," I said pleadingly to my father. I know he had made up his mind.

But I have to try my luck, I want to see his daddy spot, I want him to look at me the way he always does with adoration, pride, and love but hell no! What I am seeing is a different man.

"You have nothing to think about besides you have no choice and your opinion is not needed here, he was supposed to come today being your birthday with his family to claim you and your wolf as his and to witness his wife's first shift but something came up,"

My father said to me while rifling the files on his table. I gaped at my mom who bent her head immediately to avoid my gaze.

"And besides you don't have any time, you need to go upstairs and pack your stuff for the Alpha Den's beta will be here anytime soon to pick you up," My father lifted his head and gestured for me to leave.

"What if I refuse, what will you do dad?" I asked my father with a scowled expression, I still can't get why my father and most especially my mother have to sell me out because of their selfish interest. Yes, they are trying to sell, or should I say that they have sold me out already.

How can they force me into an arranged marriage with a total stranger, a loveless marriage?

"If you refuse this offer, then consider yourself none member of this pack, I will banish you and also disown you as my daughter," my father sneered at me, making me flinch back.

I stood up and left the place. I can't believe my father can turn me, rogue, because of his selfish interest.

"Am I truly his daughter?" I questioned myself as I quickly climbed the stairs to my room, I slammed the door shut, and plopped on my bed, tears trailing down my face. I slowly looked around my room, the place where I always come to cool my head and stay to dream about my charming prince.

I heard a faint knock at the door, but I ignored it. I don't feel like talking to any single soul now but the person kept knocking at the door.

"Yes, and who is that?"I asked angrily.

"My lady is me, Sandra," the person responded in a faint voice. Yes, Sandra is one of the omega In our pack.

"Come in," I said tiredly to her, she opened the door and entered inside.

"My lady, the alpha requested I help you pack," Sandra said submissively.

What I still don't understand is why they always refer to me and Vivian as **my lady*** but maybe because we are Alpha's daughters. I haven't seen any of my siblings, is it that they don't know about this arrangement or that my father stopped them from coming here because I need a shoulder to lean into.

"Just pack the essential stuff in this trolling bag," I said to her while gesturing to the bag behind her since she stood there looking around not knowing what to do.

"Ok, my lady," she said with a small smile, she turned and started folding my clothes inside the bag, I don't own fancy clothes, not that my parents can't afford them, it is just that I love wearing comfy clothes and besides I don't like attending parties so there is no reason to have them in the first place.
