Chapter 7 The Danger

Stephanie's POV

When I woke up, I immediately went to the bathroom to take a shower. After I took a bath, I got dressed not for the office but the house first, it was still early. When I opened the bedroom door I smelled the scent of my favorite longganisa(pork sausage). I quickened my pace and saw in the kitchen, Carl, topless wearing my pink apron.

I smiled and bit my lower lip. I know he saw it.

"Wow I love it," I said and I immediately sat down on the chair to spoon rice and longganisa on the table.

There was even a hotdog he cooked. I tasted the dishes I saw. If he watches me I don't care. I prayed first before eating.

"Eat well," he added.

I ignored what he said as long as it was important for me to eat. When he mixes coffee, it's something I enjoy.

"Thank you," I told him.

"Come on, let's eat now, take your seat," I said in action while I was still chewing.

He sat across from me. It was there that I realized that the delicious food was in front of me.

"Oh, my innocent mind, please stop," I said to myself.

He made me want to sit in front of me and still topless. I swallowed what I was eating as I stared at his abs.

"Slow down, self, you might choke," I preached to myself.

We finished our meal no longer looking at him, it was hard. I am washing the plates we used. After I washed, I hurried into the bedroom to get dressed. I put on my office clothes, made up my face, and immediately grabbed my bag.

I almost struggled to put on my office shoes. I was straight outside when I saw Carl, waiting for me. He even looked at his wristwatch when I clung to him. He walked to the opposite side of the elevator first.

I quietly followed him. Running one of his steps is my second step. The speed he walks as a former Law Enforcement, I just read in his profile in my Daddy's office. I didn't realize that we were already down.

When we got to the parking lot, he got in the car first. He checked everything first, and when he found out that it was in good condition, he waved at me that I was going to board. I quickly complied and got into the car. When I closed the door, I immediately put on my seatbelt.

I blew air as a sign that I succeeded in what I did, I just wore a seatbelt. I straightened my loose hair and combed it with my fingers. I turned to him, he focused on the road while driving. I didn't take my eyes off looking at him.

There I noticed that he was looking in the side rearview mirror. I immediately turned my eyes to the side mirror beside me. I saw the black van sticking to Carl's car. The driver can take it over if he wants, the road is still wide, and there is no traffic because we left early.

While Carl was driving, he was moving his right hand under the compartment on the steering wheel itself. My eyes followed and I was surprised to see it. Frowning my forehead means we are in danger. I was worried when I saw that the snout of the black van had hit the buttocks of the one we were riding in.

"Miss, Alonzo, fasten your seatbelt!" Carl shouted at me.

I immediately obeyed what he told me. I clung so tightly to my seat that I almost flew into the car. We swayed because every vehicle we encountered had to be avoided so that no collision would happen. I can still see the black van in the side mirror and how it also deviated from the onlookers, so we would not get lost in their pursuit of us.

Our car was moving faster and faster as Carl was talking to someone with a headset hanging from his ear. Maybe he asked for help, I didn't understand the code.

We were already driving down the empty road, with no passing car. But the speed of the car was still the same, still so fast for me. Carl braked suddenly after turning a corner, fortunately, no car was coming.

I just saw in the side mirror that the car following us went straight. Carl started the car again and I didn't know which corner we had entered. I looked around but I didn't memorize this route. We just got off the highway but not towards the office.

I don't want to ask anymore. I'm only nervous so I don't want to talk first. His car monitor rang. I saw Daddy's name, he was calling Carl's cell phone connected to the monitor. He answered him and then turned on the loudspeaker so I could hear my parents' voice.

"Stephanie, hija. Thank you, God, you are fine with Carl," Daddy said.

When I heard Daddy's voice I started to cry. There I poured out my nervousness that was now slowly disappearing. They just let me cry, I also couldn't stop my abundant tears from flowing. I almost ran out of a box of tissue paper inside the car along with a chill.

"It's fine, hija, you're safe with Carl," Daddy assured me on the other line.

"Be safe, hija, we love you," Mommy said knowing that Daddy was listening to us.

I was stunned by what they said, how come this situation seems so normal to them?

"Of course, they were able to monitor us," My mind answered my question.

After thirty minutes we reached a building. We left the car and then went inside the building. I mimicked my eyes to see the whole thing.

"This is a condo building we went to," I said to myself.

I just quietly followed my bodyguard until we reached the 30th floor using the lift. When we entered a unit, I immediately sat on the couch, I was still shocked by what happened earlier. As if I was getting soft, I put my two palms on my cheeks and then wiped off my face.

After Carl placed his car key on his bar counter, he headed to the kitchen. When he returned, he was carrying a glass of water. He handed it to me, I immediately took it and drank all the contents of the glass. He picked up the glass from my hand and then returned it to the kitchen.

I leaned my back against the couch, slowly closing my eyes to calm myself. I felt him sit up but away from me. I just let my eyes close and then I blew air. I don't know if he's looking at me or not.

"For now, we can't go out yet," he said.

"What are their intentions?" I asked him.

What I was referring to was the black van vehicle that followed us.

"We will know later after the investigation," he said.

I nodded at what he said.

"What am I going to do all day here with him?" I asked myself.

I called Daddy and asked if he went into the office. He seemed to enter the office and then he instructed me. I don't have to worry, I'm in good hands.

"Safe is better than sorry," Daddy added.

I understood the situation in the field of business such events naturally occur in the life of the entrepreneur including our family. Carl was not in the living room where I was sitting while talking to Daddy. I didn't notice when he left, I was talking to Daddy on my cell phone earlier. I was about to stand when Carl suddenly appeared.

He was no longer wearing a black suit but he was wearing denim shorts and a white v-neck shirt. I couldn't look at him directly so I looked down. He approached me and dropped a paper bag on the floor. As I was still bent over, I saw that there was inside.

"Change your clothes in your room."

I immediately looked up and then he showed me where my room was supposed to be, on the right.

"Thank you," I said as I picked up the paper bag and my sling bag.

I hurried to my room. When I got inside, I closed the door and then looked at the contents of the paper bag. I saw a dress, over the knee and with short sleeves which is red with underwear and flat shoes the same color as the dress.

I blushed when I saw the underwear, it's a good thing I didn't open it in the living room because I was ashamed of him. I stared at the garments. I was smiling because I was thinking about him. After all, I could be with him all day. Carrying them I went to the bathroom to get dressed. I put on the dress, I adjusted the somewhat crumpled part.

I was so sexy in what I was wearing, I could see the curve of my slender body. My legs are smooth and white. I am also easily noticed even if I mix with a lot of people because of the beauty I have. My nose is pointed and fits the almond shape of my eyes and has thin lips.

I licked my lips while I let out a kiss in the air. Something came out of my mouth that darkened the mirror I was standing in to see my whole being. I wiped with tissue paper next to the glass.

I walked over to the bed, sat on the side, and folded my office clothes. I suddenly remembered the other things I had in Carl's car. I immediately stood up to pick it up, I exited the room towards the living room. When I got there, I saw what was sitting on the center table, that was my laptop.

I sat down on the couch and then took the laptop out of its bag. I opened it, and because I had to wait a few more seconds to work, I got up to go to the refrigerator I had glanced at earlier. I'm looking for a snack because it's already ten o'clock in the morning. I was already feeling hungry so even with Carl's condo unit, I was still tampering to look within the refrigerator.

I was about to open the refrigerator but suddenly someone rang the doorbell. I closed the refrigerator then I stepped forward to open the door but I saw it was already open, and Carl's back popped out at me. I didn't know what was coming so I turned around again to go back to the refrigerator. I heard the door close so I turned around.

My eyes narrowed when I saw Carl's carry, I had read the logo of a famous restaurant. At the same time, I heard the sound of my hungry stomach. I no longer pursued my plan to open the refrigerator. I was still looking at Carl's hand-carry, I was salivating at the smell of the dish.

"Let's eat lunch," Carl said, not looking at me.

I followed him into the kitchen. I was surprised, there was rice ready on the table. He had already cooked so I couldn't find him earlier when I came out of the room.

"Let's pray first," I said.

I immediately sat in the chair, closed my eyes, and prayed. I was the first to move like spooning rice and a dish while Carl was late. I just let his presence go, maybe he let me, it's still part of his job.

We quietly finished our meal. I immediately washed the dishes we used to eat. He was no longer in the kitchen after I washed the dishes. I left the kitchen and went to the living room to check if my laptop could use it now.

I saw him on the couch in the living room while watching TV. I doubted whether or not I would continue into the living room. But I have my laptop so I have to go, I have something to do. I'll just get it for the room. I'll continue what I'm going to do on the laptop.

What he was watching caught my attention, it was action and adventure. I didn't realize that I was sitting on the end of the couch where he was sitting. What Carl was watching kept my attention. I glanced at my laptop which was still on but I didn't look at it. I was also watching the prose with my bodyguard.
