Chapter 4 Please help me!!!!

I sighed as I was about to open the door, thinking of how I was going to face Speer . Finally, I pushed the door. I saw him pressing his phone, didn't even notice my presence. "Speer! " I echoed and he looked at me then turned away. "I am sorry about what happened earlier, I just overreacted". I said. "It's fine, I am used to your nagging " he whispered. "So I nag!"I said to myself. "I am sorry, I am only doing this to protect you hm!". I added and hugged him and he smiled . "Let's not spoil today ok, I just got promoted so we need to celebrate, so where do we go to?" I asked.

"Cool and Chill",they have the best dessert he replied. "Hm, how do you know this?" I teased. "Internet work". He replied. "Ok, let's go!" I said and we went to the restaurant. At the restaurant "Hm, this really tastes good, so yummy, have some chicken " I said. "Told ya" he replied. I saw he was happy and that relieved me. "Ariana " a voice said from behind. "Oh Farrell nice to see you, how are you doing? " I said happily and hugged him. He happened to be my friend. He too was a cop and he helped me alot. "I just came to do some paperwork around here "he said. "Work, work when will you get a girl?still single I guess" I teased. "As usual, what of you?" He asked. "No one, besides I don't have time for that you know" I replied. "So we are both the same , who is this young fella?" He asked. "My brother speer, Speer meet Farrell my very good friend "I said and Speer waved at him. "Ok, I gotta go, see you around ". He added and hugged me once again and then left. Not long after, we too left for home. It was 12:00 am. I couldn't sleep, I was thinking about the Bob-G 's case. "Who could have done that? And roped the little girl in it and why are my colleagues lazy about the case, do they know something that I don't? "I questioned myself. "Whatever it was, I wanted to find out,. That 13 year old girl needed some help and I could not turn my back at her. She must not suffer what I went through. "I whispered aloud and fell asleep. "Ha!"I yelled as I woke up. I had a nightmare. I looked at my phone, the time was 6:45am. "Shit!" I said and got up from bed quickly. "I haven't seen Kira for a while ". Speer asked. "She went on a vacation, she will soon be back ". I replied and went into the bathroom to wash up. I came out and made some scrambled eggs which I ate hurriedly. "Bye Speer, lock all the doors" I said and rubbed his head and went off to work. "Good morning sal! " I said to one of the officers. I decided to pay Flora a visit. "Thank God! Robin and the others weren't around." I said. peew! I breathed heavily and went in. "Have you eaten?" I asked. "Two slice of bread with jam,yuck! " she said with disgust. "When am I going to get out of this goddamm place. I miss my mom " she said sadly. I saw how depressed she was, I really wantedto help her. "I want to help you, but I need your Cooperation, ok! Is there anything you know that you haven't told me ?" I asked. She looked around to check if any one was coming. "After I was druged, when I woke up, I found the man's handkerchief in my hands. I remembered, while the man was putting the handkerchief over my nose, I didn't let go of it. So ,when the he heard the police siren, he ran away and left the handkerchief with me". Flora said and pushed the handkerchief towards me. "Did you see the person's face? And why are you calling the person a He?" And how come the police didn't collect the handkerchief from you?". I questioned. "I didn't really see the person's face. But I think the person is a man. Because the hands of the person were tough and firm, only a man could have such hands. However, the police....... didn't see the handkerchief because I hid it in my inner Jeans pocket, I knew if they saw it, they will take as evidence". Flora replied . "Why didn't you want the police to see it .... do you perhaps don't trust the police?" I asked "My dad did some things which he didn't want the police to know about so he was skeptical about them". She replied. "You said your dad did some things like what? " I asked. Then there was a knock on the door. "Ariana, your attention is needed " Bobby said. "I gotta go " I replied and put the evidence into a transparent bag then slipped it into my bag. As I stood up about to leave , she held my hands. "Please officer, everything I have told you should be between the two of us, promise me " she pleaded. I looked into her beautiful eyes and saw that she trusted me and I didn't want to break that trust. "I promise " I said and kissed her lightly on the head and went out. "Bobby sir, what's the problem? " I asked. "Nothing really, got any leads ? did she say anything? "He asked. "Not much " I replied. "A new case just came up and we have been asked to put her case aside" he whispered. "What! Leave the case unfinished ,never find out who did it then blame it all on the poor girl? That's not fair!" I yelled. "That all we can do, it is no longer in my hands ". He replied. "So we should leave the girl to stay in that goddamn cell, she is just thirteen for Pete's sake, she needs to go to school! If she was your kid, will you do that to her?" I said with tears filling up in my eyes. I guess my words touched him a little. "She would be released but the case will be left unfinished." He said. "But sir....." I stammered. "That's final! Why do you care anyways?" He said infuriated. "Now, let's get back to work ok!" He added. That was how the case was closed.
