Chapter 6 6

Heather's penthouse was equipped with an art studio, so after having her canvas and stuff from the studio brought over, she began to do her work.

It was already dark when she finished her art pieces. She felt quite tired easily and was in a slight mess. As she was cleaning up her phone suddenly rang.

"Babe! Where are you?" What is up with people looking for her? She asked herself.

"Solar Drive." She answered her best friend Nancy Moore.

"Good, I'm coming up." Nancy lives in the same building as hers. It was an exclusive residence that only had 2 units per floor but Heather occupied the biggest unit on the top floor with 3 stories.

After about a minute her doorbell started ringing "I haven't seen you in forever what are you doing here?" Nancy Moore stood as tall as her at 5'8, she was wearing a black jumpsuit and high heels that complimented her tan skin and curly hair well.

"I'm divorcing Sebastian," Heather announced while popping an almond in her mouth and slumping back on the couch.

"What! Why on Earth are you divorcing my cousin?" Nancy screamed dramatically. She and Sebastian weren't particularly close as the latter kept to himself but they were always very casual during family gatherings. She works under him at the Hale industries as a project director but remains a professional relationship with him.

Nancy and Heather became best friends in grade school and continued to stay in touch while Heather was abroad. She was the main reason why Heather met Sebastian when they were younger.

"He doesn't love me, Nancy. I can't keep humiliating myself. Everyone knows he is only married to me because of our parents. Sylvia called last night to tell me how she spent the night with my ex-husband! And then she came in the morning to rub it on my face! She's shameless and Sebastian didn't even deny it!" Heather cried out.

"Screw Sylvia! That little bitch just keeps on clinging to Sebastian for money. I mean if it weren't for her throwing herself at Sebastian then he wouldn't have tolerated her."

Heather closed her eyes feeling a little tired, "I don't want to talk about her or him. They can both suck each other's faces for all I care."

"What are you going to do now?" Nancy asked sitting on the giant bean bags.

"Divorce him, go back home to Nathaniel and boppy and....." she paused for a while as she took the pregnancy report from her bag. "Raise my kid."

Nancy took the report from her hand and her eyes widened like saucers.

"Oh my gosh! Heather's going to be a momma" she said with small tears flowing from her eyes. Heather nodded silently in response. Her expression didn't show excitement or sadness. She was clueless about what lies in her future, but she was certain that she wants to leave Sebastian even though it hurts.

"Are you going to tell my cousin?" She shook her head lightly.

"I don't want to tell him just yet. He already told me not to divorce him." Heather replied.

"Then maybe that's a good sign. Uncle Simon just handed him the company and so members of the board are still doubting him. Sebastian has only gotten a good hold of the company in the past few months. He'll definitely have more time for your family now." It was true. Sebastian was loaded with work because the obligations only landed in his hand 2 years ago.

But Heather being stubborn as ever didn't want to hear any more explanation, "I don't care Nancy. I don't want to see him or talk about him ever again."

"Okay. I'll leave you to rest. We can deal with Sebastian Hale later," Nancy then left her room and went straight to hers where Sebastian was on the couch waiting.

"So?" He asked.

Nancy glared at him deeply while walking to the kitchen for a glass of water. She was annoyed at how these two were putting her into their troubles. "Sebastian you hurt the lady. You haven't given her a single thing to fight for in the past 2 years. She wants a divorce." She said before gulping on her water.

"And? Did she tell you anything else?" Sebastian seemed to be implying something but Nancy couldn't get her finger on it.

Nancy crossed her arms to the chest and said, "You should tell Sylvia to stop harassing her."

"Very well. I'll be on a business trip for three weeks. Can you keep an eye on my wife till then?"

"Seriously Sebastian? Is this your way of winning Heather back? Why don't you sign the divorce papers as soon as possible."

"This is the last one. After this, I'll definitely bring her home whatever it takes."

"And what if she doesn't want to go home with you?" she asked with a frown.

"She'll go home with me. She's just going through some tough time these days." Sebastian then stood up to leave.

The very next morning Sebastian went on his business trip. Heather on the other hand was having a hard time battling her nausea and mood swings alone. She couldn't even focus on her work.

How she wished she was at the home she shared with Sebastian. Even though he didn't talk to her often, his presence still made her feel calm.

She loved waking up and making breakfast for him or watching him sleep beside her at night. Looking at his handsome features and observing his brilliant mind made her feel lucky to be his wife.

But their 2 years of marriage grew stagnant and loveless. Sebastian spends most of his time in the office or going on business trips alongside the very lovely Sylvia, a project director in his company.

She couldn't even hold a candle next to Sylvia. A commissioned artist and most of the time portrayed as a spoiled untalented brat in the tabloids.

She pondered about it during her time alone. One day while watching TV her doorbell suddenly rang. It was weird since security was quite heavy in the residence and she wasn't expecting anyone. Shrugging the idea of an intruder trying to break in she stood and went to get the door.
