Chapter 5 5

"Okay bops. Don't worry about me I can take care of myself okay. I need to go now bye." She then hang up before her grandfather could say another word.

Heather lived like a princess in Boppy Ric and Nathaniel's guard. She couldn't forgive herself for allowing Sylvia and Sebastian to trample over her reputation and humiliate her for two years.

She thought that even if Sebastian only married her for business advantage if she could offer her body and heart to him then he'll definitely grow to love her.

Not having much to do for the whole day Heather scheduled an appointment with an OB/GYN.

Meanwhile back at the villa, Sebastian was preparing to leave for the office. He knows he's made little to no effort to make the marriage work and was oftentimes slaving himself with work since he was promoted as the chairman of Hale Industries over a year ago following his father's retirement. Many shareholders have doubted his skills at the young age of 24 then now 26, but he's only proven himself more than capable and had allowed the company to break boundaries and reach feats they've never reached before.

"Sir, the chairperson of Carter Mining Co. is here to discuss the acquisition." His secretary Jack mentioned as they made their way out of the elevator.

Sebastian only hummed coldly in reply as he leaned back on his swivel chair. Jack got over his schedule for the whole day.

"Jack, you're married aren't you?" He asked out of the blue startling Jack a little. He was never personal with any of his secretaries.

"For 6 months now." For his service, Sebastian even gifted the married couple a honeymoon trip to Europe.

"Tell me, what do you do when your wife throws a tantrum and leaves the house." He asked shamelessly again.

Jack was flabbergasted by the question but decided to answer it anyway. "My wife never leaves the house, sir. She did get extreme mood swings back when she was pregnant with our son I always made sure to give in to her cravings to coo her. Some woman acts like a child when carrying a child. But like a good husband, I always made sure to give in to her request as she is carrying a child for me."

Sebastian listened to what he said word per word. Compared to him, Jack is more affectionate and knows how to show emotions. He on the other hand doesn't know how to care for others.

When Sylvia cheated on her he wasn't angry because he loved her, he was humiliated after the scandal broke. She slept with his secretary, his subordinate.

Agreeing to marry the granddaughter of one of the most powerful families in the world is one of his ways of getting back at Sylvia. What he didn't know was how beautiful and brilliant this granddaughter was. He always felt nervous around her.

The first time he saw her, she was painting in her studio so delicately staring into her canvas with a paintbrush in her hand. He felt deeply attracted to her at that instant.

"Jack, tell Lyndon to help me find my wife and report back to me as soon as he can," Sebastian commanded Jack, who immediately did as he was told.

"Trouble in hell?" The sound of his best friend John came.

"It's none of your business." He spewed not giving his friend attention as he run through the documents laid on his table.

"Heather Presley is a brat what do you expect. I've already warned you before getting engaged." His dark eyes bored into John the moment he said that. He didn't like what he called his wife.

"Get out! And stop disturbing me!" John was startled and went straight out of his office.

Sebastian wasn't able to focus well at work the whole day, but even so, he was able to deliver well with confidence and composure. When he got out of the building, he stole glances at the studio trying to look out for Heather.

At the OB/GYN

"Mrs. Hale it's confirmed congratulations you're 8 weeks pregnant." Knowing she was already pregnant she didn't feel surprised at all but was very quiet. She's been feeling restless and nauseous all this while but brushed it all aside.

"It's still too early to see the baby yet so I suggest you come back after 6 weeks so we can schedule you for your first ultrasound." The doctor added.

Heather didn't know how to feel. With the doctor's confirmation, she felt her heart swelling. The idea of terminating was strong in her mind but now that it's confirmed the idea scares her.

Not having much to say, Heather took the prenatal vitamins and left. It would've been a lot better if she had a loving husband by her side to share this moment with her, but knowing she was financially capable she was determined to raise the baby alone.

After settling herself in her car her phone suddenly rang. "Heather, where are you?" Fabio asked.

"I'm at home. Listen I might not be able to work in the studio for a while so I'll leave you and Donna in charge. I'll be doing my commissions at home in the meantime." The art studio was located in Hale's Headquarters so avoiding Sebastian might be impossible if she continued going there.

In fact, the reason Fabio called was that Lyndon, Sebastian's personal assistant was already asking about her whereabouts.

"Ok, are you doing alright?" He asked out of concern.

"I am just feeling under the weather. Doctors told me to rest at home for a while. Call me if you have any problems. Okay?" She then ended the call and drove back to her penthouse.

"So?" Lyndon coolly asked a nervous Lyndon.

"She said she's sick and won't be coming to work." Fabio angrily said. Lyndon stood up and smirked at him and was about to leave.

"What's happening? Why are you looking for her?"

Lyndon didn't mind explaining and exited the building.
