Chapter 4 : A brat

What is happening? Just as Mia tried to push the person away, he tightens his hold and whispers into her ears.

"Please help me. I am not a bad person. There are some guys chasing me. Please!" His boyish voice sounded rather desperate.

Mia was confused. Well, this is a public place. He would not so something too outrageous, would he?

He suddenly turned her around so that Mia was facing the door and asked

"Are they gone?"

"Who?"

"The men in black, crew cuts!"

Sure enough, there were three men in crew cuts searching for something or someone. Mia lightly places her hand on the boy's back. The men seem to be asking people for information. But soon they leave and Mia pushes the boy hard. He staggers and almost hits the display table behind him. He panics and quickly looks behind him but is relieved to see that the men are not there.

"Ah, I am sorry. I was in a fix and was not sure what to do. Thank you so much for your help"

The boy comes forward and apologizes to Mia.

"My name is Teddy." He extended his arm. Mia looked at him suspiciously. He looks like he in his late teens or early twenties, tall and quite handsome. He is wearing all branded stuff, so definitely rich. A spoiled brat?

She did not bother shaking his hands but instead folded her arms and looked at him sternly.

" Why were they chasing you?"

"Well I was at this cinema, watching a movie when these guys sitting behind me started teasing a female friend of mine..one thing led to another and I ended up kicking one of the guys"

"What?" Is he sane?

"You see, I could not see them clearly in the dark. Who would have guessed they were like these bodybuilders? Or that there were three of them? Obviously, I ran off before being butchered by them!"

"What about the girl?"

"Oh no, Tina." Did he just remember her now?"Shit. I need to find her. Catch you later..bye," He ran off.

That was one crazy boy, Mia thought. The staff in the shop were looking at her strangely. She felt a bit awkward, so she did not buy anything and left the shop quickly. She roamed around a bit more, trying to find another shop, but soon it was time to go to her part-time job. She works at Pizza but during the week and tutors kids on weekends. She can probably stop working at the pizza place but continue with the tutoring. The pay is really good and its only weekends. So should not be too bad.

On the way, she tried calling Nathan again and he answered this time.

"Guess what? I got the job!" Mia exclaimed as soon as the call got connected.

"What? Wow!Congrats. I thought you did not have an interview?"

"No. That's the afternoon which got postponed, the morning one went fine. Wait! How did you know?"
