Chapter 8 Getting Closer to You

In the vehicle, Ashley curled up in the back seat. She felt uncomfortable and twisted her body constantly. The suit jacket Leonard wrapped around her had slipped off. Due to her posture, her lower body was exposed.

"Hot. It's so hot." Ashley was getting unaware of what was going on. "Help me. Help me."

She felt she had been set on fire, and her body was going to explode.

Leonard, who was driving, looked at the image in the back seat through the rearview mirror. His heart skipped a beat, and his blood began to boil. Then, he tightened the grip on the steering wheel and sped the vehicle up.

"Help me..." The physical discomfort was torturing Ashley. Yet, her voice was tinged with traces of fatal temptation.

Leonard was a calm, rational man. However, on seeing Ashley in the arms of another man, he flew into a rage. At present, witnessing Ashley suffering from the physical discomfort, he became furious once again.

"Shut up." Feeling irritated, Leonard even forgot that he had warned the woman not to provoke him again with a lousy trick. He simply could not think about those issues at all.

The vehicle got faster and faster. Leonard took Ashley back to the Pear Blossom Garden Villa and then threw her into the bathtub filled with cold water.

The bathtub was huge, but Ashley was not aware of it. She sank into the hub and choked on the water.

In the water, Ashley's short black skirt got stuck to her skin. Leonard could see her figure clearly. Also, he noticed those dark red marks left by the fierce battle they had last night.

Leonard let out a deep sigh, then reached out to get Ashley out of the water.

As if grabbing a life-saving straw, Ashley grasped Leonard's arms tightly and pressed her whole body against his. It seemed that in this way, she could feel much more comfortable.

"Seems like you enjoy throwing yourself at a man. Was last night really your first time? Was your hymen artificial?" Leonard sneered at Ashley, who hugged him tightly. He had seen this woman being drunk and dazed due to drugs twice.

"Hug me. Hug me." Ashley pressed her face against Leonard's chest. "I really feel bad."

Before last night, Leonard had never touched any woman. Ashley was his first woman, and it was the first time in his 28-year life to taste sex.

Though he was a man with strong self-control, he had to admit that it was beautiful and addictive.

"Give it to me." Ashley's eyes were blurry, and she pulled Leonard closer to her body and lifted her head to kiss him on the lips.

The tender touch of Ashley's lips made Leonard frown slightly. He reached out to pinch the woman's chin, forcing her to look at his face." Who am I?"

Ashley revealed a seductive smile. "You're Leonard. My idol. The man I've adored for a long time."

Hearing this answer, Leonard was a little surprised. With a trace of satisfaction hidden in his eyes, he stepped directly into the bathtub and showered themselves with water.

That night, from the bathroom to the bedroom, they enjoyed each other non-stop until dawn.

When Ashley woke up the next morning, she felt her head was about to explode in pain and sore all over. Especially, her private part was uncomfortable. She looked around and was surprised to find herself being in the Pear Blossom Garden Villa. She got out of bed, walked to the bathroom, and looked at her body in the mirror. In an instant, she widened her eyes open in horror. The traces left from last night and the night before last night smudged her skin badly. It seemed that she had been abused by someone.

"Did Leonard send me back?" Ashley vaguely remembered that she met the man at the entrance of the Charm Bar last night.

Ashley rubbed her temples, turned on the faucet, took a handful of cold water to pour her face, and then felt slightly sober.

Last night, she arrived at the Charm Bar and got drunk after taking a glass of wine. After that, she remembered seeing Leonard and nothing else.

Ashley lowered her head to look at those dark red marks on her body, and her face immediately turned red. The next moment, she recalled that she was married to Leonard and then felt better.

As Ashley walked around in the villa the day before, she knew that there was a cloakroom with a lot of womenswear inside. She immediately went over and found a simple white shirt and long black skirt to put it on. After tidying herself up, Ashley went downstairs and heard some noise coming from the kitchen. Thinking that it might be Leonard, she walked over quietly. However, it turned out to be a middle-aged woman in her forties.

"Madam, pleased to meet you. The Elder Master arranged for me to take care of your life. My surname is Watson, so you can call me Mrs. Watson." The woman was in a simple gray coat and black pants. Her hair was short, and she looked homey and professional.

Ashley then recalled that Leonard's grandfather called last night and said that someone would be sent over. Looking at the other woman, she nodded with a smile. "Pleased to meet you too, Mrs. Watson."

"I've just come here and don't know your appetite yet, so I prepared a rich breakfast for you, including soy milk, milk, sandwiches, buns, steamed dumplings. Mr. Bryant left early without eating anything. Why don't you come to see if there is anything you fancy to have?" Mrs. Watson then served the food.

"Leonard has left?" Learning that it was indeed Leonard last night, Ashley heaved a sigh of relief.

Mrs. Watson nodded with a smile. "That's right."

Ashley checked the time, and it was more than eight o'clock. Thinking that it was her first day to work at the Bryant Group, Ashley immediately took her backpack and put on her shoes. "Mrs. Watson, I'm going to be late for work and won't have breakfast this morning. I'm leaving. Thank you for preparing the food for us."

"Let me pack it for you, and you bring it to the workplace." Mrs. Watson hurried to fetch a lunch box.

Ashley hurriedly left the villa. As she was going to be late, she hailed a taxi to the Bryant Group.

For students in the Department of Architecture, it was a shared dream to be accepted into the Bryant Group. This year, only Ashley and Nadia got an offer from the ideal workplace after rounds of interviews and examinations. And the results made them well-known on campus.

When Ashley arrived at the Bryant Group Building, she felt incredibly excited. This place was her final goal during her four years in college, as Leonard, her idol, worked here.

The 100-story tempered glass building was filled with professional elites and internationally renowned architects. Ashley was so excited that she wanted to shout out as she would become a member of this place from now on.

"Leonard, I'm getting one step closer to you." Ashley walked towards the building with a smile.
