Chapter 3 Singing "Take me to the dance."

"I was happy when I heard we are going to sing together but became sad when I remembered that I am a bad singer." I say taking my hands off Daniel's.

"Can we be friends, Daniel?" I ask stretching my hand out to Daniel for an handshake.

Without hesitation Daniel says, "Yes we can." He took my handshake.

I smile with satisfaction knowing that Daniel is now my friend.

We take our ice cream and meat pie and devour them.

We leave to our class before the bell rings for end of the free period. We meet Daniella in the class and she waves towards us.

Daniel walks up to his sister to take his seat as they are seat partners during class period.

The bell rings and all students run into the class.

Mr. Brown comes into the class and sits on the teachers chair.

"Good morning class." He says.

"Good morning, Mr. Brown." We all reply his greeting.

"I want all the singing partners to sit together." Mr. Brown says.

Samantha stands up from beside me and goes to take her sit near Micheal whose seat partner wasn't singing.

Daniel comes to take his sit with me.

Everyother singing partners sit beside themselves and Mr. Brown sends the remaining people to an empty room in the class.

Daniel bades his sister who is not part of the singing team but is part of the instrumentalist.

"Now I would call you partners one after the other to come out singing 'Take me to the dance.' to us. Mr. Brown says and I start to shiver.

Daniel looks at me with an encouraging eye.

"I would take the lead so you don't need to be afraid." Daniel says to me and I simply nod my head.

"First on the list is Michael and Samantha." Mr. Brown say and Micheal and Samantha step out. I pray that Samantha won't fail Micheal.

They sit out loud,

"When darkness's all around the dance floor,

And I hold on to you,

Just take me to the dance,

Take me to the dance.

Take me to the dance.

I say take me to the dance..."

They kept singing and at last end with everyone dancing and clapping.

Four more partners were called out and they sing very well.

Finally, it is my turn with Daniel's to sing.

We sing out loud and I sing with no fear. Daniel really took the lead covering up my floors when my voice hang.

They all clap for us.

The ten partners left also sing and it is awesome.

Principal Moss enters our class clapping her hands to

"You all have done great." She says.

She sings the song "Take me to the dance." in her own way and she really got a nice voice I would say.

We all clap for her and she gives us her weird smile.

Principal Moss says some words and leaves the class after saying a few things about the forthcoming competition.

"As you all heard what Principal Moss said, we are to pick some students who would be able to stand for this school in the music competition between SOZY Musical school and Danad musical school." Mr. Brown says and we all clap.

"The competition would be coming up next month." I say placing my hand on my chest.

Daniel looks at me with a smile on his face,

"You don't have to worry Randy, you can do it." He says to me with a grin on his face.

"There are sixteen partners here and only five partners would be given the chance to join the competition." I say looking at Daniel who keeps smiling.

"Do you still think we would make it to the competition?" I ask Daniel who simply nods his head.

We can do it Randy, we are going to make it to the competition." He says to me and I look at him.

"How?" I ask then continue, "Would you continue covering for me?" I ask shaking my head.

Daniel smiles, faces me and say,

"Randy, we would make it. You just need to practice more." He pause then looks at me.

"We still have six weeks to the competition. We have three weeks left in this month and the competition would be held last week of next month." He continues, "All I need is for you to have faith for you are going to practice with me."

"With you?" I ask.

"Yes Randy with me." He wink at me.

"Wow." I say.

"We are going to practice for two weeks on your voice and on how you can hold your breath for long." He says which made me smile.

"Okay Daniel." I say stretching out my hand for a handshake with him.

After Mr. Brown leave the class, we all start singing.

The students who had left the class came in.

Daniel sees his sister from afar and take me along with him to meet his sister.

After explaining all to his sister, Daniella held me.

"Randy, you can do it. You have me and my brother on your side. I sing marvelously so does my brother." She pause to know if I am listening. "Without one week you would learn how to sing better." She smiles looking at her brother who nod his head.

"Randy would you like to join us this weekend at our sport lunch?" Daniella ask.

"I would like to join." I reply nodding my head.

"Great, that's it." Daniella say jumping.

"We would start training you by tomorrow." Daniel says and I nod. "I think we should go to join our group mate."

Daniel bades Daniella and leaves with me.

"No crushing on a guy who doesn't like you." Daniel whispers into my hear and I laugh knowing that he meant Micheal.

We reached our group room and met a terrible situation.

Adriana was pulling Samantha's hair.

"You think you can steal my Micheal?!" Adriana shouts.

"Please leave my hair." Samantha pleads with screaming.
