Chapter 5 Running Away

Several actresses whispered to each other and chuckled. However, they never took their eyes off Timothy until he walked into another private room with the fat director.

"Dorcas, are you alright?"

Margaret Hamilton found that something was wrong with Dorcas, who kept her head down and said nothing.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Dorcas squeezed out a smile and looked at Margaret. When she looked up, she realized that Timothy had disappeared. She didn't notice!

She had lost her appetite now. She was wondering if Timothy would recognize her.

Five years ago, when Dorcas left Timothy's office, she found a surveillance camera facing the door. And she did not wear a mask by then, so there was a great chance that Timothy would recognize her.

The more Dorcas thought about it, the more guilty she felt. She had to leave the party before she met Timothy again. He could recall that memory at any time!

Dorcas then made up an excuse and told Margaret she needed to go.

After walking out of the private room, Dorcas scurried towards the elevator.

When she was waiting for the elevator, she heard something. A door was opened, and there came the laugh of the director. "Mr. Soper, hope we can cooperate in the future!"

"Alright, I'll excuse myself then."

"OK. I have guests at the party. My assistant director will see you out."

"Okay!" said the assistant director.

By the time Dorcas could react, they had been getting closer and closer. Her heart was beating faster. She even trembled slightly.

She glanced at the corridor. There was no place to hide. Fortunately, the elevator arrived just in time. Dorcas went in and pressed the close button. Just as the door was about to close and Dorcas was about to breathe a sigh of relief, a hand reached into the middle of the two doors...

Dorcas held her breath, her heart pounding harder than ever.

"Dorcas, are you leaving too?"

After the elevator door opened, the assistant director saw Dorcas and asked.

"Yes, I'm not feeling very well." Dorcas forced out a smile and stepped back, sparing some space for them.

The fat director saw Dorcas' face was like a lint tray, so he said nothing more.

"After you, Mr. Soper!"

The assistant director stood aside and gestured for Timothy to let him in first.

Timothy nodded at him and walked into the elevator.

Timothy stood next to Dorcas, and the director stood in front of them. Dorcas clutched her bag, fearing that Timothy would recognize her. It was only four floors, but it took her like life.

Finally, they arrived at the first floor. When the elevator slid open, Dorcas rushed out. She didn't even say goodbye.

When Timothy went out of the hotel, his driver was waiting for him. He looked around and saw that Dorcas was getting in a taxi.

Timothy was about to offer to send her home when he heard that Dorcas was not feeling well. However, he did not expect that she had left so quickly. Timothy then went in the car.

After Dorcas got into the taxi, she told the driver where to go. She didn't heave a sigh of relief until she was sure that Timothy's car drove off. But she was still nervous. She was worried that Timothy would recognize her...
