Chapter 2 He Flies into a Rage

Someone was tapping on the door.

The noise woke Timothy up, who was in deep thought with his eyes closed. He opened his eyes and said dryly, "Come in." The door was pushed open.

Laura walked in timidly. She felt it was like the calm before the storm. She then said, "Mr. Soper, I had pulled the security video as you asked. And we found someone strange. Would you like to take a look?"

Laura was tentative. Obviously, she was still in shock. She was afraid that if she said something wrong, her boss would snap again!

"Send me the video!"

"Yes, sir."

Laura was so relieved when she left the office. Then she sent the clip to Timothy's computer.

Timothy watched the video. In the video was the door of his office. He saw a person wearing a black cap sneaking into his office when there was no one around. After about ten minutes, that person came out.

Timothy frowned and pressed the pause button. He could see the person's face vaguely.

"A woman?"

Timothy found it interesting, so he sat up straight and stared at the computer screen.

When the person entered the office, she was wearing a black coat, and she gave her back to the surveillance camera. But when she went out, the camera caught her face, well, most of her face, because she was wearing a hat and her head was lowered. But that was enough to deduce that person was a woman, a pretty woman, to be honest.

Timothy looked at the time stamp of the clip. It was around 6:30 in the morning, which was the cleaning time in the company. It was no wonder that she could sneak into the company!

The company rule clearly stated that visitors had to register before entering the company, especially the strange ones. It turned out that this person sneaked in with the cleaning stuff.

Timothy then watched another video, which showed the scene of the underground garage. The woman in black was walking toward the exit with a mask on. Timothy then went on with the next video. It was the surveillance camera at the security office of the parking lot.

The woman walked out as if nothing had happened, and the security guards didn't even look at her. She just left like that!

Timothy was speechless. He could have caught this person. But she got away right under his nose. He got mad at his security staff.

Timothy called his secretary in. Laura, who had just recovered from the shock, got nervous again. She hung up the phone and scurried to Timothy's office.

"Mr. Soper, what can I do for you?"

Laura looked at Timothy and spoke. Only now did she realize how enjoyable it was when Timothy asked her to run errands.

Seeing Laura coming in, Timothy leaned back against the chair, which was dreadful to Laura. Her eyes were filled with fear of the unknown. Working up all her courage and tugging tight her pant legs, she went near and waited for her boss to speak.

"Talk to the security guards. They've done a terrible job!"

Timothy looked at Laura coldly.

Timothy's gaze gave Laura invisible yet great pressure. She knew those security guys. They were only paying attention to those who went into the company.

However, she could tell Timothy. If she did, those security guys might be dismissed for gross misconduct, and it would bring her some collateral damage.

"Yes, I'll go talk to them!" Laura said weakly. Timothy then looked elsewhere. Laura said nothing and left the office.

Then she went to the security department and gave them a long speech, which was like a totally different person from when she was in Timothy's office.

On the surface, Timothy asked Laura to talk to the security staff, but Laura could read between the lines. Those who didn't take their work seriously needed a lesson. Laura was clever enough to get that, or she wouldn't become Timothy's secretary.

Staring at the woman in black in the video, Timothy recalled all the women he had met in the past. That was a headache for him, for he could not remember who he had offended. Why did this woman, whoever she was, come all the way to his company and steal his tender?

Dorcas came out of the shower and lay cozily on the bed. She checked the papers again and put them back into the holder. She then put it in the drawer of her nightstand. She had not slept for several days. Now, with all things beautifully done, she could finally have a good sleep.
