Chapter 5 Jealous

June got down from Simon's car and they both entered the school.They received weird looks as they made their way to the locker room.

"Don't mind them"Consoled Simon.

Actually,I don't."She looked up and smiled at him.

He escorted her to her locker and waited as she keyed in her combination.

"She's such a slut to have dated the new boy."said two girls who were huddled together in a corner.

"I wonder what he saw in her."retorted her friend

Simon frowned.He walked up to them and glared at them.The girls were too scared to move.They froze and stared up at him,fear evident in their eyes.

One of them tried to act brave by blurting out"Is there something you want?"she asked

"Want to know what I saw in her?That's because she doesn't do gossip or backbite others like you're doing right now."he said. The girls were too speechless to talk.

"The next time any of you raise her voice and accuse either me or her,you'll regret knowing me."He warned.

He shot them his most dangerous glare and stalked back to June.

"Sorry bout that"he apologized scratching his hair.

"You didn't have to do that"she said

"I couldn't stand by and watch them trash you."he defended.

"Thanks tho"

"Can I compare my schedule with yours?"he asked.

"Sure.Wanted doing that."She grabbed her schedule from her bag and handed it over to him.

"OK,so we have first, third and fifth period together."

"When?"

"Guess?"he smirked

"Today?"she suggested

"Nope!Everyday"he replied grinning.

"No way.!"

"Yes way!"he grinned

"Its good.We get to go together then."

"Sure"

The bell went off.

"Biology?"she asked

"Yep."

She grinned as she left the way.

They entered the class and took a seat next to each other.

Within five minutes,the class was full,except River and his gang were not present yet.

"Sit with your partners"Came Mrs Williams voice.

There was scraping of chairs and dragging of feet as everyone located their partners.June was not bordered as River was yet to be in class.

"What's with the partner stuff?"Simon asked

"This term project."She explained.

"Where's your partner then?"

"King of jerks!He's yet to be in school."

"I don't have a partner what do I do?"

"Report to Mrs Williams."

"Excuse me ma'am"Called out Simon.

"How may I help you?"Mrs Williams replied.

"Uhmm,i don't seem to have a partner."he said.

"You'll be in June's group."she replied.Some 'oohs' and 'ahhs' could be heard.

"Quiet,all of you!"ordered Mrs Williams.

The door opened and River together with Justin came inside.Mrs Williams glared at them as they made they made their way over to their seats and partners.River pulled a seat and sat down next to June.

"Focus on your work"she commanded.

June brought out her glasses and put them on.It had a red frame.

"I like your glasses."Simon said.

"Thanks "She grinned. He also brought out a pair of glasses and wore them.

"You wear glasses?"she asked surprised.

"Yep but I rarely put them on."he confessed.His had a blue frame.

"I love your frame."she said

"Really?I always wanted the red frame."

"I prefer the blue frame but there was none my size."

"Can you guys just shut the hell up?"said an annoyed River.

"Stop listening to our conversation then."replied Simon.

"What's going on River?"Mrs Williams questioned.

Simon and River glared at each other before turning to Mrs Williams.She stared at them for few seconds before going back to her work.

During break that day,Simon and June were seated together when River approached them.Heads turned to look.

"What does he want now?"Simon frowned.

June shrugged and went back to fixing her attention on River who was few meters away from them.

"What do you want?"asked Simon sharply.

"You'd better mind your business kid."pouted River.

"Or what?"challenged Simon.

"Its okay Simon."June intervened.She turned to River and asked"What do you want?"

"I won't be coming on Friday,as earlier planned."

"Why?"

"I have some business to do."

"When do u intend coming?"she asked

"Today"

"Its fine."she replied and looked away.

River shot an annoyed look at Simon before walking away.

"What's he coming to do at your place?"Simon asked

"The project"she replied.

"Oh,I'm I invited too?"

"Why not?You're our partner too.Its by 4pm tho."

"Expect me by 3"

"Isn't that too early?"

"I'll be bored at home"he replied.

"Then read your books"she suggested.

"That's way too boring."he complained.

"Lazy ass"

"Its cute tho"he smirked.

She faked gagged and he bursted out laughing.
