Chapter 4 Friends

"So,how did I get here?"June asked once she was done eating.

"I brought you here"he replied shrugging.

"I mean,how did you find me?"

"Well,I was walking when I saw you ahead.I was about calling when you passed out."he explained.

"Thanks for coming to my rescue."she said

"Its nothing. You would have done same."he shrugged.

There was silence for few seconds before Simon spake up.

"So,are we friends now?"he asked toothily.

"You're smart.Taking advantage of my condition."she replied grinning.

"I'm not."

"Well,I can say yes! Its the least I can do after saving me."

"Really?"

"Yep!"she popped the 'p'.

He brought out his hand for a handshake which she took and they shooked hands smiling down at each other.

"Where you staying?"he asked.

"Winter dale Avenue.,No 3"She replied.

"Oh,I don't think I know there.Haven't been around the neighbourhood that much."

"Its okay,.I can show you where its located."

"Well,I'm Simon Parker,my dad works in a textile industry while my mom is a surgeon."

"Do u have any sibling?"

"Yeah,he's in college tho."

"I'm June and I like keeping to myself.You must have met my twin already."

"Yeah,but she's not my type."he confessed.

"Who then is your type?"June asked cockily.

"You!"he replied grinning.

"Psst!"

"So,I'm guessing you don't have a boyfriend?"he said

"Yes.Boys are jerks!"

"Babe!You just hurt my feelings"He faked cried clutching one hand over his chest.

"I'll do more"She fired.He raised his hand as a sign of surrender.

"How bout you?Any girlfriend?"

"Yeah,but we broke up.She doesnt want a long distant relationship."

"Oops!"

"No much worries.I would do same if I were her."

"Hmm"

The door opened and a doctor came inside.

"Miss June.How are u feeling?"he asked

"Better."she replied.

"I'll prescribe some meds for you and ensure you take them."

"Yes Doc,"

"Your glasses are important for your vision.Always wear them"he advised.

"I will.Thanks doc."

"You'll be discharged" Soon,he was gone.

"Are u okay?"

"I am,thanks"

The next day,June got up from bed and prepared for school.

She was already discharged the previous day but was advised to come back for checkup.

"Good morning mom."

"Morning June,how are u?"

"I'm okay."She pooped down on a sit near the dining table.

"I'll be off to work.See ya."

"Bye mom,Love you!"

"Love you too."

When she was gone,June hurried over her food and rinsed her mouth after which she grabbed her knapsnak

She was about opening the door when the doorbell rang.She swung it open and was surprised to see Simon standing behind it.

"Hey, good morning."he greeted smiling.

"How did you find here?"she asked raising an eyebrow.

"I was directed."

"Oh!that's nice then.I'll be off to school now ."

"Hop in lets go"he said. She smiled once she saw the red Mercedes benz.It was very sleek.

"Woah...is this your car?"

"Yes."Simon replied and scratched his hair nervously.

"Damn!I'm definitely getting a ride in it."She said as she stepped out and locked the front door.She walked over to the passenger's seat and got in.

"Are you ready"he asked as he clipped his seat belt.

"Always"

"I'm not tho"he confessed.

"Its not that bad"

"You're used to it "He pointed out.June sighed and relaxed in the seat.

"Can you just drive?We'll be late"

"Oh sorry,let's go"
