Chapter 4 PAULA AND JAKE

Paula's POV

"Jake!" I immediately ran towards Jake as soon as I saw him waiting at the entrance gate of our university.

He looked at me and smiled. "Good Morning, Paula."

"Have you been waiting here?"

"No, I just arrived here." He said as he put his arms around my waist and we started walking.

Jake is a handsome 6-foot-tall guy with blonde slicked back hair that shows his incredibly good-looking face.

He's a football player too, and he's popular with other girls.

He just dropped me and Cindy at our building before he finally went to his class. He's taking up business management while I am taking a bachelor's in education since I want to be a teacher someday. I also work as a tutor just so I would be able to sustain my own needs and to pay my tuition fee since my grandma's business is just enough for the two of us to have food on our table.

"Good Morning, please bring out your notebook and copy what's written on the board." Our teacher, Mrs. Jones, said before she sat on her chair and started playing her favorite mobile game on her phone.

Sometimes I wonder why there are really some teachers like her. I promise that once I get to be a teacher, I'd be teaching with all my heart and won't waste my time doing silly things.

I just finished writing when my phone suddenly vibrated. It was Jake.

'What are you up to?'

'Nothing. Mrs. Jones is our professor today. I'm bored as hell.' I replied.

'Then let's take that boredom away.'

'What?'

He didn't reply after that, so I thought their professor finally started lecturing. But then a few minutes have passed, and we suddenly heard someone yelling outside. My classmates started gawking outside while mumbling to each other. Our professor doesn't care anyway, so I didn't mind joining them.

I got surprised when I saw Jake running around the hallway while yelling. "PAULA EDWARDS IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!"

All of my classmates stared at me while giggling. I could feel my cheeks turning red as a tomato especially when Jake looked at me and smiled. "I LOVE YOU, PAULA EDWARDS! YOU'RE SO BEAUTIFUL I JUST CAN'T-

Then he pretended to lose his consciousness which made all of us laugh. "Your boyfriend is really crazy, yet cute." Cindy whispered to me.

"He's crazy, you're right," I said while looking at Jake who finally stood up.

"Mr. Anderson! What the hell are you doing here? Go back to your building!" A professor suddenly appeared and yelled at Jake. Every one of us immediately went back to our seats. I glanced once more at Jake and he even gave me a flying kiss before leaving. I couldn't help but smile.

Jake has been really like that ever since. He really knows how to make me happy. And although we don't act so sweetly in front of everyone, I can say that he loves me as much as I love him.

"What's your biggest dream?" Jake asked me. We were sitting under a tree at the school garden. We love going there because it's the only place where we could be alone together. I was leaning on his shoulder while playing with his fingers.

"My biggest dream?"

"Uh-huh. The thing that you want to achieve, what are they?" he asked again.

I thought for a while before I spoke. "Well, my dream is very simple. I just want to graduate and be a professor, I want to build a huge library for my grandmother, and of course, I want to be a good wife to you."

"That's it?"

"Yeah, that's it. That's my only dream. How about you?"

Jake straightened his back, and so I looked at him. "My dream is to become a famous football player. I also want to become a celebrity that everyone loves. I want to buy everything that I want, I want people to look up at me."

His eyes were shining while he was speaking. He looks so eager to reach his dreams. I smiled at him. "I know you'll be able to reach all of your dreams. I will always be your number one fan."

"Thank you," he said as he stared at my face. I was just looking into his eyes too, as if there was a spell cast on me. My heart was beating so loud. Jake moved his face closer to me without breaking the eye-to-eye contact. I closed my eyes as soon as our nose touched. "I love you, Paula..."

Then he pressed his lips against mine. He put his hands on both of my cheeks and kissed me softly as the wind started whistling around us. I felt like I was floating while he was kissing me. So, this is how first kiss feels like...

I was smiling the whole day, even when I was already home. Grandma asked me why I looked so happy, but I just hugged her and said that something beautiful just happened. I lay down on my bed, thinking about Jake and our first kiss. His lips tasted really sweet and soft...

"Oh Jake, I love you so much..." I mumbled as I hugged my pillow.

Only Jake and grandma are the ones who really push me to go and be inspired. I don't know if I could even live without them. All that I can promise is that I will always be beside Jake forever. I believe in him, he would be able to reach all of his dreams, he would become a superstar and a famous football player. I just wish that I could stay beside him while he's reaching for those things. I know it won't be so easy but I'm willing to do whatever it takes just so I could stay with him forever.

"Good Night my dear Paula." said grandma.

"Good Night grandma..." I said while smiling at her. She just smiled at me before closing the door of my room.
