Chapter 5 The Call

Leon POV

I'm here feeling bad about myself when James comes to knock at the door.

"Leon"

"Yeah?" - I ask still laying down.

"There's an emergency near the lake"

"Okay, give me a min" - I say standing up and walking to the bathroom to wash my face. It's been hours since I left the party and Julia is not back. I haven't felt her scent.

I open the door and I see dad walking with Danni and James is waiting for me with his arms crossed in front of his chest.

"so what happened?" - I ask him while I put one of my hands on his shoulders and we start walking out of the packhouse.

"Our best she-wolf warrior sent me a mind link with SOS" - James says

"Where is she?" - I ask him starting to feel a little worried and my wolf is pacing in my head. He feels like something is wrong.

"She said she is near the lake" - James says and I frown my nose.

I haven't been to the lake in years. I used to live there. As we are walking towards the lake I pick up Julias's scent and my wolf starts to growl.

"Our mate is here somewhere"

"No shit sherlock" - I bark back

"That way" - dad says and we all follow.

I lift my eyes and I see her. Standing with her t-shirt covering her nose and mouth. James walks towards her and my wolf starts to move fast. He wants to check on her, see if she is okay, I can tell that the bad smell is not coming from her but from the dead wolf that is not in front of me, dad, and Danni.

"Hey, are you okay?" - I hear James asking Julia while he hugs her, and I can't help but growl. He is too close to my mate and my possessive wolf is going crazy over it.

James and Julia started to look around until her eyes meet mine, I can see something shifting in her eyes.

"Who's that?" - I ask pointing at the dead wolf.

"One of our young soldiers" - James says walking towards the wolf. With dad and Danni.

I see Julia bowing her head to them and my wolf feels proud of our mate, she respects her Alpha.

"Did you find the wolf? - Dad asks her

"I was just here minding my own business when I felt the most horrible scent, so I went to look around and I found the body" - Julia says not looking into dad's eyes, she kept her head bowed.

"I see, take her to the interrogation room" - Dad says and starts to move. Why would she be interrogated? She was nothing to do with this. Her scent is nowhere near the dead wolf. I can't believe dad thinks my mate did this.

"He doesn't know she is our mate"

"Shut it" - I bark at my wolf.

"Alpha is that necessary?" - James asks

"Yes" - dad replies.

Both Julia and James bow their head and they start walking. He is touching her and I start to feel that I am about to lose control.

"I will take her" - I say walking towards her and grabbing her upper arm to take her away from James. I feel the sparks all over. my hands but I don't even flinch. Her breathing starts to get faster and I can hear her heartbeat change.

I start to pull her towards the packhouse and I can feel her resisting me.

"Stop resisting"

"Let me go" - She says trying to free her arm.

I stop walking and I put my body blocking her. I look down at her and she faces me. She has no fear. I am her future Alpha and she looks me dead in the eyes.

"Can you feel it?" - I ask her

"I don't know what you are talking about" - she says now looking at the floor and I can see her face getting red.

"You can" - I say and with that, she looks up at me - "Why are you fighting it?"

"Why are you fighting it?" - she asks me as if spitting her words. She can feel the pull of the bond the same way as I can. She is strong to fight it like this. She should be trying to get my attention and she is ignoring me.

"Let's go" - I tell her grabbing her upper arm again. This time the tingling I feel makes my wolf nuts. Her scent, her voice, her warmth. I need to get away from her.

We arrive at the packhouse and I take her down to the interrogation room. I open the door and she walks in without another word.

When I close the door I fall on my knees. I pass my hands through my hair and I take a deep breath. I can't lose control. The last time I did I ended up killing a human. It almost destroyed me.

After getting my breathing under control I open the door to see Julia sitting on a chair near the table.

She is touching her arm where I was touching her.

"Did I hurt you?" - I ask her and she shakes her head.

"Use your words" - I growl at her

"No, Alpha" - She says now looking at me. My wolf howls in admiration of our mate. I shake him off of my mind.

"What we're you doing in the lake?" - I ask her while I grab a chair and I seat right in front of her.

"Walking"

"Why?"

"Do I need a reason to go for a walk now?"

"Look, I'm sorry" - I see her eyes locking on mine. She stopped breathing for a second and then she raised one of her eyebrows.

"For what?"

"I shouldn't be..." - I stop talking licking my lips while I take in her image biting her lower lip - "meeting with other women"

"You are the Alpha, I bet it's not just going to be Penelope trying to get into your pants" - she tells me and she goes bright red again. She is so beautiful.

"I should've respected you"

"Alpha, you don't even know me" - she says and I growl while I punch the table and I stand up.

I pass my hands through my hair and I take a deep breath. She has her eyes wide opened looking at me. Shit. I scared her.

"I'm sorry" - I tell her ready to leave the room.

I hear her soft voice clear her throat and she speaks.

"Alpha" - she says and I turn back to look at her.

Julia smiles and runs towards me throwing her arms around my neck. I can't control myself and I tie my arms around her waist lifting her towards me. Goddess, she smells so good.
