Chapter 4 Dinner Party part 2

Julia POV

I intend to spend the rest of the day in my room. I can't go out, the pull is too strong. I don't want this. How can he be my mate? I've heard some rumors about him losing his mate and that's why he almost destroyed the pack and got himself killed. I can't be his mate, there has to be some sort of explanation.

"You should go to him"

"And that why I am in control and not you" - I respond to my wolf trying to get me to go after the Alpha.

It's almost ten at night and I am starting to feel hungry. His scent is fading so I assume he hasn't been up here for a while now. I walk towards the kitchen to find my best friend sitting alone.

"Hey" - I say giving her a nod

"Hey, how are you? Haven't seen you in a couple of days" - Arabella says

"Sorry, I've been on the training ground or doing the rounds" - I tell her

"Why weren't you at the dinner?" - she asks me lifting one of her brows.

"You're not there either"

"Fair point but I was there, I even spoke to the hunk that is our new Alpha" - she says - " have you met him yet?" - she asks

"Haven't had the pleasure" - I say and my wolf laughs calling me a liar.

"You didn't answer my question" - Arabella says

"I wasn't feeling that great after the round" - I tell her

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah. I was just tired and not in the mood for a party"

"Maybe you should go see the doctor because I can't believe you were not in the mood for a party or to be around your crush"

"Speak louder will you?" - I whisper shout to her and she laughs.

I walk towards the fridge and I grab a bottle of water and some leftover spag bol.

I think about putting it into the microwave but I am so hungry that I decide to eat it cold.

"That's just wrong" - my wolf moans

"Shut it" - I tell her while I keep eating.

"I'm going back out" - Arabella says

"Yeah"

"Come and meet me, some music and dancing is happening, the elders and the alpha left"

"I'll be there soon" - I tell her.

Arabella leaves me alone and I finish eating. I walk towards the window so I can see my reflection and I sight.

"It's not getting better than this"

I walk towards the tent and I can't pick up his scent, but then I pick up a mixture of his and Penelope's. Oh no, you are not shagging my mate. Anger takes over me and I start to follow their scent towards the barn.

It's so intense that makes me want to gag. I can't let her fuck my mate, jealousy is taking over and I am tempted to let my wolf take over.

I open the door of the barn and I see her close to him. Touching his naked chest and I feel my stomach going crazy. My head is spinning while I fight for control over my wolf.

"Who dares to interrupt me?" - I hear the Alpa say and automatically I bow my head. But from the corner of my eyes I can see him pulling his jeans up, shock takes over and I give one step back trying to contain the tears and then Penelope starts talking.

"Julia go away, can't you see I am busy?" - she says and I feel my heart beating faster. Their scent together is making me nauseous. I bite my lips so I don't tell her to fuck off and I don't beat the crap out of her.

"She's touching our mate"

"I can see that"

"Do something"

"Shut up"

"Do something or I will" - my wolf says and I fight to block her.

"I, I'm sorry" - I whisper closing the door behind me and start running towards the trees.

I need to get away from here. My stomach is aching. I feel the tears burning my eyes and I want to rip Penelope's head off.

I stop running when I reach a lake. I've never been here before but it is beautiful and quiet.

I sit on a big rock and take my shoes off. My feet fall into the water and the cold makes me shiver.

"She was touching our mate"

"He is not our mate" - I bark back at my wolf

"Why are you denying this?"

"Because his mate died remember?"

"Maybe the goddess think he is too much of a good catch to be alone"

"Oh fuck off my head" - I tell her while I focus my gaze on my reflection.

I hear a noise behind me but I don't need to turn around to know that is Penelope.

"What do you want?" - I bark at her

"Why do you have to spoil everything?"

"Fuck off P, if you came here to give me shit walk back through the way you came, I can't be fucked right now"

"You are such a bitch Julia"

"Yeah I know I am the bitch"

I hear Penelope taking a deep breath and getting closer to me.

"How did you find this place?" - she says sitting down next to me.

I shrink my shoulders and she looks at me.

"Are you okay?" - she asks

"Why does everyone keep asking me if I am okay?"

"You look like you've seen a ghost, Jules"

"I haven't and I am fine, or I was until you came here"

"You are a bitch" - Penelope says standing up and walking away.

Not long after I hear something behind me

"I am not in the mood P, I know I am a bitch, leave me the fuck alone"

When no one replied I look back and I don't see anyone and then I hear something moving on my right side. I stand up allowing my instincts to take over and I sniff the air and the scent I pick up is horrible, it smells of death.

I put my shoes on and I start walking around slowly and then I see it. A dead wolf.

I clasp and my hands fly towards my mouth.

I mind link, James.

"SOS"

"Where are you?"

"I don't know, near a lake?"

"Okay, I'll be there in 20"

The mind link closes and I walk closer to see if I can see who's wolf it is.

The scent is horrible and I lift my t-shirt covering my nose while I look around.

I really can't recognize the wolf, so I keep looking around for clues when I am hit by the most beautiful scent ever. I turn my gaze to see his dark blue eyes focused on mine.

"Hey, are you okay?" -James asks while he gives me a hug

I could swear I heard a growl. Both me and James looked around and all we saw was a stern face looking at us.

"Who's that?" - Alpha Leon asks

"One of our young soldiers" - James says walking towards the wolf with Alpha Dhario and Beta Danni.

I bow my head when I see the alpha and Beta and both of them look at me.

"Did you find the wolf? - Alpha Dhario ask me

"I was just here minding my own business when I felt the most horrible scent, so I went to look around and I found the body"

"I see, take her to the interrogation room" - Alpha Dhario says and I bow my head.

"Alpha is that necessary?" - James asks

"Yes"

We both bow our heads and when we start walking we hear a deep growl and Alpha Leon talks.

"I will take her" - he says walking towards us grabbing my upper arm and when he touches me I feel tingling all over m body
