Chapter 3 Dinner Party

Leon POV

I walk into the bathroom ignoring the amazing scent coming from close by.

I have a shower and I allow myself to relax with the hot water hitting my back. It's been a stressful couple of weeks.

The call from dad asking me to return brought a lot of feelings I had buried inside a long time ago.

The elders helped to keep me sane, I worked hard, studied hard, and trained even harder. I have become a better version of myself. I bedded a lot of different women. They would all be coming around only, for one thing, the only thing I could offer, a good time.

When I finished showering I pass my fingers through my hair and wrap a towel around my waist. I haven't unpacked anything yet.

I walk towards my bags on the floor and I put them on my bed so I can grab a pair of dark blue jeans and a white T-shirt with some black boxer shorts and black socks. I get myself dressed and I get hit again by the scent. Apples and cinnamon. My wolf starts to jump in excitement and I block him. I can't be dealing with this. So I try to block the scent as well. I get myself dressed when I hear someone behind my door.

As an Alpha, my hearing is a lot better than normal wolves. So I decided to open the door to check who is the owner of that amazing scent and that's when I see her falling right in front of me.

I could've helped her. I could've grabbed her, but my body stiffened at the realization.

MATE - my wolf shouts in my head. He's jumping up and down in excitement and I am frozen holding the door tight. I don't know how I didn't break the door handle with the pressure I was putting on it.

I see one of the most beautiful creatures I've ever seen rolling onto her back and opening her eyes to look at me. Her face is red, I don't know if because she is ashamed or because she feels the pull.

I offer her my hand so she can stand up and that's what she does. She holds it tight and lifts herself from the floor and I can feel the tingling again. Like I used to feel with Emily.

"Are you okay?" - I ask her still holding her hand.

"Sorry" - she says and I can't help but smile, her voice is sweet and low. Perfect. My wolf is jumping up and down - *claim her* - he keeps saying and I blocked him.

"Hey, it's okay" - I say with an honest smile on my face looking at those beautiful grey eyes of hers.

As if she was repulsed by me she pulls away from her hand and walks to the bedroom next door closing the door behind her when she goes in.

I take a deep breath and close the door. I walk towards the bed and I sit there holding my face between my hands.

What the fuck is happening? How can I have another mate? Why didn't she feel the pull? As an Alpha, I have high self-control but she shouldn't have.

Not long have passed when I hear someone knocking on the door. I am in a really bad mood now, I don't know what to do. I can't go through another loss.

"What?" - I bark at whoever is behind the door

"Bro" - I hear James say when he opens the door and puts his head inside. I keep my back turned to him.

"What do you want James?" - I ask him focusing my rage on him so I don't go next door and ask her why the fuck she runs away from me.

"Is everything okay?" - he asks walking on eggshells. The smallest thing can set me off and he knows it. I try to be the better version of myself but I am still hurting.

"Why wouldn't I be?" - I ask while I stand up and turn to face him.

James gives one step back and looks at the floor and that's when I realize I am letting my wolf take charge. I focus and start taking deep breathes.

"Sorry" - I tell him

"You don't have to apologize" - James says offering me a soft smile - "we need to go down for dinner, the pack is waiting"

"Give me two minutes and I will be down" - I tell him and he nods his head and walks out of my bedroom.

I look at myself in the mirror and I can see how affected I am by that girl. I can't let that happen to me. I don't know what the Goddess is playing at but I can't have another mate. I can't go through that suffering again. Nothing good ever happens to me.

I take some deep breaths and I put my shoes on. I opened the door and the scent hits me again. I give a couple of steps and I stop in front of her door taking in her smell. I shake my head telling myself this can't happen and I walk downstairs towards outside. There's a big tent in the back garden of the house and I can hear people talking. The noise is defining. The pack was sent to only had the elders unmarked. I never got to mark Emily. A year appears on the corner of my eye and I shake all those thoughts away from my head as I walk inside the tent.

Everyone goes silent while they all bow their heads. I walk towards my table in the center of the stage and I allow my eyes to navigate the people around me, she is not here. My mate is not here and I can feel the anger build up.

I take my seat and dad starts talking.

"Thank you, everyone, for taking the time to greet Leon back"

"Alpha" - they all said in unison. It is beautiful how they all respect my father and Olivia. They all love our family and they would all die for us.

"Leon has become the Alpha we all need him to be, this time away has made him stronger, feared, and just. He will be a great leader and that is with sadness and joy that I am announcing that I will step down"

People started talking between themselves and I allow my eyes to move around the tent to see people's reactions.

"Alpha" - a young man in the back says

"Yes?" - das asks looking at him

"It will be a pleasure to serve the Alpha Leon" - he says banging his hand against his chest where his heart is. A smile appears on my face and I shake it off fast.

I see all the fighters doing the same gesture and I feel warm inside. My pack is accepting me as their Alpha.

"We will host a party next week for the official raise of the new Alpha"

Everyone started cheering and I stood up. The moment I did everyone went silent.

"I am happy that you all accept me as your next Alpha, I will work hard to keep you all safe, I will fight alongside you, we will be better together" - I say and I can hear cheering.

" Let's eat" - dad says and everyone starts eating and talking.

Dinner goes in very smoothly and when we finish I can see the elders and my family leaving. They want me to get to know my pack again.

I walk around greeting some people and getting to know some new people to the pack.

"Alpha" - I hear a girl say and I turn around to look at her. She has the same eye color as my mate but her scent is completely different.

"Hello" - I say showing off one of my charming smiles.

"I just wanted to greet our new Alpha, and welcome you home" - she says, and then she gets closer to my ear and whispers - "I can show you a good time if you like"

When she pulls away I look down at her thinking I could use the distraction and my wolf is needing some sex to calm him down.

"She's not our mate" - he says to me

"That never stopped us before" - I tell him blocking him again.

"Lead the way " - I tell her and she grabs my hand and pulls me outside and towards the barn in the back.

She opens the door and walks inside. The moment the door closes she puts her hands on my chest allowing it to go down my stomach to the edge of my T-shirt and she pulls it off exposing my tanned chest.

"Undress" - I tell her while I watch her. She is good-looking and she has a great body. Once she is naked she walks towards me and presses her body against my chest and starts kissing my shoulders while her hands start to open my jeans. She goes down on her knees and she pulls my boxer shorts down with her exposing me to her.

"Alpha" - she says and her hand touches me when the barn door opens and I let out a loud growl.

"Who dares to interrupt me?" - I think to myself and I am hit by the scent.

I grab my boxers and jeans from my knees and pull them up looking at her shocked face now.

"Julia go away, can't you see I am busy?" - the girl says

"I, I'm sorry" - the girl that I know now it's called Julia leaves closing the door behind her.

"Where were we?" - the girl asks

"You were leaving " - I tell her

"Alpha. My sister won't interrupt us again" - the girl says I can feel my stomach go crazy. This girl is my mate's sister. What the fuck am I doing?

"Get dressed and go" - I tell her as I walk out of the barn putting my T-shirt on and walking towards the tent to grab a bottle of bourbon. When I accomplish my mission I walk out of the tent again and towards the packhouse. I can't sniff her scent anywhere. She hasn't come back here. Where the fuck could she be?

I walk into my room and I take a sip of the bottle and I allow my body to crash on the bed.

One of my arms behind my head while the other hand is grabbing the bottle they now rest on top of my stomach. It takes a lot for us to get drunk but I will try my best today.
