Chapter 2

Kaydee's pov

3 years before

I remember that day like it was yesterday. His dad went out to get all of us some ice cream to celebrate me making the cheerleading team. He was such a great guy and loved my mom so much. We were all so happy my best friend was my stepbrother. He was gone for what seemed like forever when we heard a knock at the door. Two police officers came in from the loos on their faces we knew this couldn't be good my mom told me and Chase to go upstairs and she would be up to tell us what was going on when she was done.

Of course, we went upstairs just not all the way that's when we heard them tell my mom she had to come to the hospital that there was an accident and her husband the police chief didn't make it. My mom lost it she collapsed I knew I should run to her, but right now looking at Chase I knew he needed me. I pulled him into my room and told him to sit down. I than went to my mom and told her to go that I would handle Chase she just looked at me and smiled.

Right now, I had to be the strong one for everyone else. I went back up to my room and Chase was laying there crying on my bed I lay next to him and held him. We stayed like that for a while before I got up to change into my tank top and shorts, I sleep in. My mom called me to tell me she would not be home tonight since there was so much to deal with. I told her we were fine that she didn't need to worry.

Chase told me he was going to go to bed I told him to go in and change he was sleeping in my room tonight he just looked at me and said ok. He came back in wearing nothing but his basketball shorts looking like a Greek God. Yea did I forget to mention I had the biggest crush on my stepbrother? I have been secretly in love with him for years.

He was perfect I lay down next to him and out my head on his chest and he played with my hair. I looked up at him and did the one thing I have only dreamed of doing. I kissed those perfect lips. At first, he pushed me away with a what the hell look then I felt his lips crash down on me.

Instantly we were tangled up in each other completely nude breathing heavy and making out. I wanted him so bad. I wanted my first time to be with him. He looked at me with eyes begging for permission and I answered by kissing him. We made love for the first time that night then the next day he was gone. He didn't even say goodbye he left me like I was trash, and I didn't hear from him or see him again until tonight.

Present:

I looked up at his smiling face and was shocked.

"Hey what the hell are you doing here?"

"Well, I moved back here I start school tomorrow looks like we get to have our senior year together after all."

I wanted to say like hell since you used me, but I didn't.

"Oh, where are you staying at? Did your mom move here?"

"No, my mom is away on a trip with some guy she met she shipped me back here, and your mom kindly took me in."

"Wait my mom? You mean you are now living at my house?"

"Yep, back in my old room. We're roomies just like old times."

No, it will never be like old times not since that night we will never get back what we had. I will never forgive him for taking what was precious to me and leaving me like I was nothing.

"Yea I guess well I got to go find my friends nice to see you."

He looked at me with sad eyes and I almost crumbled, but I knew I had to get away from him before I break down.

"Ok well I guess I'll see you at home and at school tomorrow."

I found Liam talking to a few friends and told him I wasn't feeling well that I wanted to go home. He was worried but he took me home right away. As soon as I got in the door, I went looking for my mom. I found her in her room packing. What the hell why is she packing?

"Um mom why are you packing?"

"I told you that I was going on a grief cruise. It's for people that lost a loved one. You knew about this for month's princess."

"Oh, yea sorry been a long day I must have forgot. Um mom why didn't you tell me Chase was moving back in?"

"I thought it would be a nice surprise I know how much you missed him over the years. Poor kid has had it bad so be nice please."

"What do you mean?"

"Well after the ugh accident with his father his mother came that morning and whisked him away without letting him say goodbye or go to his father's funeral. She hated me and she wanted him far away from me. He was so broken up he never wanted to leave this was his home. You were his rock he needed us, but she didn't care. She got with guy after guy and they sometimes were mean to him. So, once he turned 18, she packed his stuff up and told him to get out. He called me up and I told him he has a home here. So please try and make things easy for him."

"I had no idea."

"He didn't want anyone to know so please don't tell him I told you. I am leaving for the airport now so please help him to adjust to things, and I will be back soon. I love you princess and be good. No parties and no boyfriend staying over."

I wanted to tell her about what was going on but why ruin her good mood. I had almost forgotten about that. I had to deal with my so-called boyfriend and best friend tomorrow, but for now I needed to go and talk to Chase. I walked into his room to find him in nothing but his boxers I couldn't help but look. He's even more gorgeous then I remembered.

"Hey sorry to just barge in hear but I wanted to apologize for how I acted at the party. I'm just having a really shity day."

"It's ok. So why are you having a bad day?"

"It's a long story that I so don't want to get into. I just wanted to tell you my mom left for her cruise, and if you want, we can ride to school together tomorrow."

"Sounds good to me good night Kaydee."

"Goodnight Chase."

I walked back into my room more confused than ever. He acted as of everything was ok. Did he not even think about that night at all? He called me Sugar no one but him ever calls me that. My head was pounding from all the thinking I was doing so I laid down and tried to sleep.

The next morning, I was rudely woken up to my radio loudly playing a Justin Bieber song. Normally I wouldn't mind a dose of Justin but today I just wanted to crawl back in bed and never get up. I knew that wasn't going to happen, so I quickly got up and showered and out on my favorite pair of skinny jeans with my tight blue tank top that matched my eyes. Then put on my black boots that make my legs look even longer.

I put on some make up and brushed threw my long hair. I looked super-hot. I went down to pour me some juice and noticed it was already on the table with my onion bagel. I looked around and saw Chase smile at me.

"Um thanks you didn't have to. I'm shocked you remember what I eat."

"How could I forget it's only been three years Sugar three exceptionally long years? I remember more then you know."

I didn't even respond back I hurried and ate and told him to come on so we wouldn't be late. We pulled up and everyone was in the parking lot congratulating the football team on their big win. Just what I need first thing is confront the two people I trusted not to hurt me.

I got out of the car and walked up to the group with Chase following right behind me. As soon as everyone seen Chase, they ran up to him pushing me aside. Guess I wasn't the only one that missed him.

I looked over at Julian and he just smiled that jerk. Instantly Lexie was by my side asking me when Chase got back and if he was single. Oh, hell no she slept with my boyfriend behind my back now she was going after my first love I don't think so. I pushed her away from me and went up to Julian. She gave me a weird look but went over to where everyone was talking to Chase at. She never was a friend ugh I hate back stabbers, but I will deal with her later. Right now, I had a cheating boyfriend I needed to dump.

"Hey Julian, how was the game?" I asked.

"It was good we won like always."

I looked up at him damn when did he get so cocky? This could not be the same guy I spent the last two years of my life with. I looked at him trying to figure out why I even went for him then it clicked. Oh, yea I went for him knowing it would hurt Chase. Julian and Chase used to be the best of friends so I knew if Chase ever found out it would hurt.

"Hey babe why didn't you tell me Chase was back?"

As if on cue Chase walked up and hugged Julian.

"Hey man long times no see what brings you back to this neck of the woods?"

"Well, I moved back in with Sugar and her mom until senior year is over. What can I say I missed your ugly face too much? So, what have I missed?"

"Well, we kicked ass at the game. I have the most amazing girlfriend isn't that right baby."

I looked from Chase to Julian and didn't know what to say, and since when did Julian call me pet names?

"So, you and Julian huh didn't see that one coming you two always hated each other."

"Hate turns to love really fast. Plus, she got really hot. Just kidding baby, you know I love you."

Julian pulled me close to him and acted like the prefect boyfriend. What the hell is his deal? Then I saw it the pain in Chase's eyes. Why would Julian throw it in his face like this? And why was Chase acting so hurt? Did he still care? And if he did why can't he just tell me? Do I still love him? Now I was more confused than ever before.
