Chapter 1

Kaydee's pov

Kaydee sat at the lunch table with her friends. She was a little sad because her boyfriend of two years wasn't with her since they had an away game. Her boyfriend was the captain of the football team the most popular guy in school, and he was all hers. She couldn't go because she was the head cheerleader for the basketball team, and they had a pep rally today.

She decided to call Julian and wish him good luck. When she called, he took forever to answer and seemed kind of distant he didn't even call her his pet name. Then I heard something I never thought I'd hear my best friend saying come on baby we have to make this a quickie before the game. What the hell is going on my boyfriend and my best friend?

He said he had to go and that was that. I looked over at my other best friend Liam and told him we needed to go for a walk. Liam was great he was gay but not in that girly gay way. No one knew his secret but me that's how we became so close most people thought we were a couple for the longest time. I told him what I heard he instantly told me we were going to a party tonight to forget that jerk.

I wasn't really sure I was up for all of that, but it was so hard to tell Liam no. Plus I knew he would cheer me up. He always had a way of making me feel better. Plus, why should I sat at home crying while the two people I thought I could trust were doing who knows what.

Julian hasn't even called me back after I hung up on him. I guess I didn't matter. I wasted two years of my life with him. I thought he genuinely loved me. Guess that was all a lie. Lexie hasn't even called me, and normally she blew up my phone. Liam told me I didn't need either of them. He never really liked Julian always telling me I could do better.

I was glad when the game was over, and I could finally go home. I was so done with my fake painted on smile. I kept wondering if everyone knew about Lexie and Julian. Was everyone laughing behind my back? I know today wasn't the first time they hooked up. I just wondered how long. I felt like such a fool.

I got into the shower and started to get ready to go out with Liam. I was going to let loose and have some fun tonight. I was going to forget all about Julian. When I looked in the mirror, I was shocked by how good I looked. I normally didn't wear make-up or dress sexy, but tonight I felt like I needed it.

Later that night I was dressed to kill as Liam pulled up to my house. We were going to a house party that a few people Liam knew were throwing. I was worried I would run into Julian, but Liam told me the team wasn't back yet, so I didn't need to worry. He kept telling me I looked amazing.

By the time we got to the party it was in full swing people were already drunk. I went and stood in a corner and felt someone wrap their arms around me I turned to smack the guy until I saw it was my once stepbrother Chase. His dad was married to my mom until his dad died three years ago and he left me to live with his mom.

I haven't seen him in years. Man, he looked better than he did back then. He was all muscle had covered in ink. I always had the hots for Chase. To him I was just this annoying girl that followed him around. Well, that was until right before he left. Then everything for us changed. I wondered what he was doing here.
