Chapter 3 Who says you can't go back home...

Chapter 2

Present

Serenity's pov

Serenity hated today it was the 8 yrs. anniversary of her twin brother's death. It was hard to believe that 8 yrs. had passed since that day. The day the last family member she had was taken away from her by a monster. She spent these 8yrs training becoming strong. She moved away and joined a new pack The Howlers they were known to be the best trackers and fighters in the world.

She wanted to find the monster that killed her brother and get justice. She was no longer the weak one that hid behind her brother after losing her parents. No she never had to hide behind any one again. She had this monsters sent burnt into her nostrils and every time she would get close he would disappear again.

She only had one friend she knew she could trust and he was her trainer Sam he was the one person she knew could help her track this killer down. It was funny thought most people thought her and Sam were twins they were so much alike. They did look a lot alike. Sam grew up with no one his parents were killed when he was a baby, and he was kidnapped and placed in a basement only to escape as a teenager.

He had to fight all his life maybe that's what made him so good at what he does. Our loss I think is what made us bond and be so close he really took over the brother role for me. He was the only person on this earth I knew would always have my back. Now here we were heading to the one place I haven't been back to in 8yrs. I hated it here this place was full of pain for me, but this is where the monster led me. His sent led me home again, and now I could finally have my revenge.

Sam's pov

I looked over at Serenity finally sleeping and felt scared for her something I have never felt before. She was letting her anger take over and if she did that her wolf would take over and there would be no more Serenity. She was so fragile, but no one but me ever got to see that side of her. Not since her brother died. I asked around about him and from what I have heard he wasn't the perfect angel Serenity thinks he was.

The Royals were watching him because he terrorized people, but I could never tell her that. I could never hurt her yet here I am lying to her. She thinks I'm here to help her track the man that killed her brother when really I was sent by the Royals to find out if this man she calls her brother is even dead.

If he was even who he says he was. I know once she finds out she will feel betrayed and hate me forever, but I have to do this so that in the long run I can protect her. I would do anything to protect her. Even if she ends up hating me for it.

Serenity's pov

I could feel Sam watching me. I knew he was worried. He always tried to play off that he was some bad ass but deep down he was such a softy. A sexy softy at that, but I wouldn't dare let him know that. He was my family not by blood no, but he was a brother to me.

I could never tell him how much I needed him here to help me keep my sanity. Every day I could feel the anger rise in me and every day I could feel more and more of me being taken over by my wolf. I didn't want that to happen, but I had to find this monster and kill him. My brother deserves justice.

Unknown pov

I can't believe she's back. I feel so complete my Serenity has finally came back to give me the justice she felt I deserved. What I didn't expect was to see her with Sam how the hell did she find her real brother, her twin.

Does she know that he is her brother, and that I never was? No she couldn't know if she did she wouldn't be here searching for the man that killed me. Soon very soon she will know that I'm still alive. Very soon my sweet Serenity we will be together forever.

Xavier's pov

She followed me here I know that would be the only reason for her to come home. I could feel her sense she was close. Now after all this time has passed maybe she can finally handle knowing the truth. She isn't as fragile as she once was. Yes she can handle anything now. It is time I tell her exactly what happened. Tell her why her brother came after me, and why he set me up. After 8yrs I have found out exactly who this man really was I had proof, and it's about time that my mate my beloved finally knows what is going on so I can finally have her.

Sam's pov

Seems like Serenity is having the nightmare again she stopped having them for the longest time, but being back here is bringing all that pain back. I just wish I could take all her pain away. I wish I could have been there to protect her. I feel like a big brother to her.

I feel this bond that I can't explain no one ever could explain it as a tracker you weren't supposed to get close to anyone, but when I met her I couldn't help but protect her I felt this connection. I knew she wasn't my mate it wasn't a connection like that it felt more like she was my family. I thought maybe she was, but we were separated when I was a baby until she told me about her brother being murdered. So I guess I was wrong we may not be blood, but to me she is my sister and I will protect her with my life.

Serenity's pov

I awoke with Sam shaking me telling me to wake up that everything's okay. I guess I must have been dreaming again.

"Was I screaming again?"

"Yes you were I thought those dreams have stopped."

"Yea so did I."

Seems like all that pain wants to just rush back to the surface now that I'm back home. The only thing that is good about being back here is being around her old pack knowing that they want justice for her brother just as much as she does. She knows that monster is here now if she could just find him and get this nightmare over with so her and Sam can leave and get on with their lives once and for all.
