Chapter 2 Returning to Boston

For the past five weeks, Chad and I had been either in the room tangled up with each other or he was watching me place the website for the hotel together.

I got a call from Joey last night saying that he found out that Danny got a new job in a different country and he left last week to start at the financial company. Michael set up my way home as Chad is still sleeping in my hotel room. I went over to him and gave him a kiss on his forehead.

I sat down at the desk in the room when I decided to write him a note, "Chad, I didn't want to wake you. You looked so peaceful sleeping like an angel that was sent for me. I am horrible at saying goodbye and we knew it was coming. I hope to see you one day in Boston. I hope that we find each other again. You have made my days here special. I wish I didn't have to go but my life waits for me in Boston. Everything I know is there. It is like the song Butterfly from Mariah Carrey. Hopefully, you will return to me, so I know this was truthfully meant to be.

You are in my heart forever.

Sunflower."

I quietly left the note next to him on the nightstand then grabbed my bags. I left my sunflower dress there for him as a reminder of our time together. I closed slowly as he turned over onto his side.

I went downstairs to meet with Michael.

He raised his eyebrow, "No, Chad?" I shook my head, "Too hard to say goodbye." He sighed, "He is not going to be too happy about that." I looked down, "I know but if I see him right now then I won't be able to go back to Boston."

I couldn't, I didn't know how to say good bye. We had such a good time. I had to go back. I needed my life.

He smiled "You are ready." I nodded then stopped in my tracks, "Hold on." I ran into the bathroom and allowed my stomach to go. Once I was finished puking, I washed my face from the sink then headed back to Michael. He tilted his head at me as I walked up to him, "Are you okay?"

I have been off all day.

I smiled at him, "I am sure it is nothing." We left the hotel as he dropped me off at the airport, "If you need anything, you have my number." I nodded at him, "Thank you so much for all that you did." He chuckled, "No thank you for what you did with our social media sites and website. You are a lifesaver." I smiled as we said our goodbyes.

He gave me a hug, "Ok sunflower, you take care of yourself. And tell that brother of yours to call me." I nodded as I walked away from and on to the plane.

Joey picked me up from the airport. I ran to him, "I missed you so much." He hugged me as he picked me off my feet. "I missed you too." As soon as he placed me down, I instantly got sick. I ran to a trash barrel as my stomach came out. "Sabrina?"

I looked up at him, "I am so sorry. I've been feeling kind of weird all day." HIs eyebrow raised, "Well it is a good thing I was able to make your physical for today." I smiled at him as we went to the car. "You are the best." He laughed when we drove off, "Well you are lucky that Jared likes to make sure his employees are taken care of."

I tilted my head, "Employees?" He laughed, "Yes, He is so impressed with your work from Boston to Vegas, he wants to place you in charge of the social media and websites for each location." I smiled, "Wow. That is amazing." He laughed, "I guess Michael called him and told him about the increase of profits since the new sites and media presents. And he made me an offer to give to you. I think you should take it." I looked at him, "So when is this doctor appointment." He laughed, "Right now." We pulled into a doctor office.

I was sitting in the examination room when the doctor walked in, "Ms. Smith?" He smiled, "We got your results from your tests. And congratulations are in order." I looked at him puzzled, "For what?" He chuckled, "Well, your pregnancy test came back positive." I looked down with tears in my eyes, "I am pregnant." Wait, no this is no good. I can't be pregnant.

He looked at me with concern, "Ms. Smith are you ok?" I nodded at him, "I will give you a couple minutes to process all this. Do you need me to get you anything?" I looked at him, "Can you get my brother Joey?" He smiled, "Of Course I can." I need to explain everything to him. My god he going to be so mad that I not only got myself pregnant but with one of his friends. SHIT.

He walked out of the room then after a few moments there was a knock at the door as Joey entered the room. "Sabrina what is going on?" I got up from the table and ran to him, "I screw up."

He placed his hands around me, "What are you talking about?" I sighed as I started to tear up, "I had sex with someone and now I am pregnant." He hugged me tighter, "What is his name, maybe I can run his name and find him?"

I looked up at him, "His name was Chad Andrew. He stayed with me at the hotel the whole time to make sure that I was safe." He stiffed his body as he asked, "This Chad. Friends with Michael." I nodded my head. I knew that he knows Chad. I just don't think he realized that he was sleeping with his friend. He stepped away from and grabbed his phone.

Joey looked at me as someone picked up the phone, "Hey Chad." My eyes went wide. "She is right here." He paused, "She is safe." I shook my head for him not to tell him, he placed his hand up, "Where are you?" he paused again. "Oh good, we are about to leave the doctor office." He shook his head, "There is something that she needs to tell you." He laughed, "Oh, it is Big News. This is something you can't just run from buddy."

He paused as he took my arm and ushered me out of the office before, we could leave the reception stopped me, "Ms. Smith, You need to make your check up for four weeks and here are your prescriptions for the nausea and prenatal vitamins."

I nodded as Joey looked at me as the reception yelled as Joey pulled the phone from his ear, "Oh Miss Smith, Congratulations on your pregnancy." I heard a yelling from the phone "She's pregnant, isn't she?"

I looked up at Joey as he whispered into my ear, "He figured it out. Michael just texted him you got sick before you left Vegas." I shook my head as he lifted the phone to his ear. "Chad, you need to tell her, and we will be there in fifteen minutes."

We left the doctor's office as we got into the car, I asked Joey, "What did you mean that he has to tell me? Joey locked his hands on the steering wheel as his knuckles turned white, "Whatever you do, please don't overthink it." I looked up at him, "You are scaring me, Joey." He shook his head, "All I can say is that there is more to his name than Chad, Sabrina. Other than that, He needs to explain why he told you what he did."

We arrived at the hotel a couple minutes later, I got out of the car and Chad was standing in the garage. I looked up at him as he looked tired and he is pacing around, "Chad." He shook his head, "We need to talk in my office."

I titled my head as Joey shook his head as we followed him to his office. On the way there, couple of the staff greeted us calling Chad, Mr. Hunter. We stepped into his office when I finally let it out, "You are Jared Hunter not Chad Andrew!" He looked down, "I know." I backed away from when he took a step forward, "You lied to me."

He shook his head, "Only about my name." I teared up, "Why?" He shook his head, "I didn't want people to know that I was a big time CEO plus I knew you would take the job I was offering you, so I didn't want you to have that pressure on you thinking that you only got the job because I was sleeping."

He paused as his eyes darted to mine, "You were going through so much that night that I just went with it. I was going to tell you this morning, but you disappeared." I looked up at the ceiling, "We spent five weeks together, you could have told me at any moment." He nodded his head, "I know."

Joey looked at him as Joey growled, "Man, I can't believe you lied to my sister." Jared sat down in his chair, "Trust me, I wish I didn't." I shook my head, "Please, tell me that the job offer wasn't because we were sleeping together." He got from his chair when he walked over to me, "No, you are good at what you do. It had nothing to do with me being with you or falling for you, Sunflower."

Did he just say he falling for me?

I started to feel sick again and started to look for a bathroom when Jared looked at me, "Bathroom is over there. You can use the one in here." I ran to the bathroom as I heard Joey yelling at him, "And Yes, she freaken pregnant. What are you going to do, now?"

I heard Jared took a sigh, "I would like to take care of her and the baby." I heard footsteps coming into the bathroom. I looked up to see Jared standing over me then kneel down to rub my back, "I am right here, Sunflower." I looked up to the ceiling, "But you lied to me." He sighed, "Only about my name, everything else, the way I feel, is true. You have stolen my heart."

I looked at the door frame to where Joey is watching him, "Sabrina, I will support you anyway that I can. The one thing I can tell you is I never seen Jared act this way with another woman as he does with you. He means what he is saying right now." I closed my eyes as I leaned back into Jared's arm, "I got you, Sunflower." Joey sighed, "I will give you two some privacy, I will be in my office if you need me, Sabrina."

I nodded my head as I took a deep breath to calm down. I felt his arms go around me as he picked me up into his arms. He walked me out of the bathroom and sat on the couch in his office with me wrapped around his arms. He pushed a strain of hair out of my face, "Tell me that we can give us a try. That I can prove myself to you." I looked up at him as I whispered to him, "We can try but no more lying."

He nodded his head, "I can do that, Sunflower." He held me tighter as I laid my head on his shoulder.

We sat together in silence for a few moments when he smirked, "We are having a baby." I chuckled, "That is what the doctor said." He took his hand from my hips as he slid it to my stomach as he rubbed, "There is a little us in there." I nodded, "There is."

He tilted his head back and chuckled, "I am going to be a father." I looked down as his fingers touched my stomach lightly, "What are you thinking, Jared?" He looked at me as he took his hand to my face and cupped my jawline to bring my eyes to his, "I am thinking how lucky I am right now. I have the woman who stole my heart in Vegas, and she is having my child."

He sighed when he tilted his head to me, "I also think that I need to start calling family and get them here so we can break the news." he looked at me, "Of course you can invite any of your family too..."

I shook my head, "Joey is my only family, I have." He looked down, "We need to talk about this. You never talked about anything from your past just what you wanted for your future." I sighed as I got up from his lap, "My mother died giving birth to me. My father, I have no clue who he is." He looked at me as I continued, "I was passed around in foster care until I was eighteen."

He shook his head, "Joey Mitch, how did he come into play?" I sat next to Jared, "His parents took me in when I was in my first year of High School, the year before he took off to college. Joey and I got close quickly and he started to tell everyone that I was his sister. I stayed with his parents until I was nineteen when they were."

He took a sighed when he threw his head back, "I know about the robbery at their store." I started to cry, "What Joey doesn't know, was I was there when it happened. The police kept it a secret to protect me from the robbers." He looked at me in shock, "You saw it happened." I nodded, "I was dating Danny for a couple months before that. The Mitch's didn't like him, and I was going to leave him but then..."

I looked up at the ceiling, "I had no place to go. I had no claim to their estates, Joey could only do so much for me at the time. I told him not to worry about me."

He shook his head, "How soon after did you go to Danny that he started to abuse you?" I looked down, "The first night I started to live with him. He wanted to have sex and I told him no. The next thing I knew I was getting a fist in the face. After he was done, he would say that I was worthless. He would disappear for a couple hours but he would lock me in the apartment so I couldn't leave. He did that every time he placed his hand on me." He took my hand, "I got you. He will never do that to you again. If he comes near you and my baby."

He got from the couch as he slide me on the couch from his lap and slammed his hand on the desk, "I will kill him. I have seen the aftermath of his damage and He will never do it again." I looked at him, "I am sorry, I didn't tell you."

He shook his head, "Don't you dare feel sorry. This is heavy shit. I am the one that broke that trust we had. I lied about my name and I didn't tell what I did for a living." I nodded, "You have to be patience with me. I am used to apologizing for everything." He walked over to me and kneeled in front of me as he held my hand, "You never need to feel that you need to apologize for anything with me. I screwed up. I didn't tell you who I was, Sunflower."

He smiled, "By the way, you left something at the hotel." He got up and walked over to his desk. He placed a bag on the desk and pulled out my dress. I smirked, "I did that on purpose." He laughed, "You were hoping I would come looking for you."

I laughed, "It wasn't like it would be hard to find me. Why did you come to Boston?" He came back over to me and pulled me up, "One, I have a Hotel to run and Two, I came here to explain to you who I am and hoping you give me a second chance to prove myself."

He kissed me on my forehead as there was a knock on the door. Jared held his hand on my waist as he said, "Come in."

Joey came in shaking his head, "Jared, does anyone know that knows Jessica that would tell her that you are here?" I looked at him as he answered, "No, Why?" Joey sighed, "She is here."

He clenched his hands on my shirt, "What the fuck she wants?" I looked at him puzzled as he looked into my eyes, "Ex fling. I broke it off six months ago. She showed up in Vegas the night after I met you and I told her to leave me alone. I wanted nothing to do with her." I looked down as I shrugged, "The call you received from Michael."

He nodded and smiled, "I went down to tell her to leave and that I have a girlfriend." He told her that I was his girlfriend.

I sighed, "That is why you came back pissed that night." He nodded, "Unfortunately, I have to handle this because she will cause a scene out there." He started to walk to the door when he stopped and looked back at me, "You coming, Sunflower." Joey looked at him and smiled as Jared held out his hand to me.

I walked out of the office as I held Jared's hand as a woman started to raise her voice at the staff, "You people are useless. I want to talk to Jared, and I want to talk to him, NOW." Jared looked at her with anger in his eyes, "Don't you dare talk to my staff like that." She stepped back and smiled, "Jared!"

The staff member rolled her eyes as the women walked to Jared as he held my hand tighter, "Jessica, what are you doing here?" She giggled, "I heard that you made a stop in Boston and I figure since I was already here that I come and say hi. I also wanted to know if you would like to have dinner and talk about us?" He snorted, "Jessica... I want you to meet Sabrina, My girlfriend." He pulled me into him as he placed his arm around my back. She rolled her eyes, "She wouldn't last."

He snapped at her, "You better choose your next words carefully."

She stepped back, "Honey Bear."

He shook his head as Joey walked up next to me as Jared replied, "Don't call me that. I am not your honey bear. I am going to make myself clear. I haven't been with you for six months. We were never really together. I have a girlfriend that I am madly in love with that is not you. We don't need your bullshit and need to leave now." She took another step back, "Well, I am a guest here. And like I said your little whore will not last long."

Did she just called me a whore? This woman is going to meet my fist in a minute.

Jared went to say something when Joey started to raise his voice as she started to walk away, "Don't you dare call my sister a whore. Consider yourself banned from all the Hunter's Hotels and Properties if you bother them again."

She turned around, "Jared, would you let him do that." Jared looked at Joey then smiled, "He my Vice President. So yes, I would." Joey looked at Jared and smiled as Jessica stormed off.

"Vice President? Man." Joey asked as Jared smiled at him. "It is about time I do it. You are always going above and beyond. You deserve it." Joey laughed, "Here I thought you would promote me to get me not to kick your ass for knocking my sister up." Jared laughed, "Nope, I was going to promote you if she was or wasn't."

Jared looked at his phone, "I guess it is time to get dinner planned for our big announcements for tomorrow. I want the staff and all my family members invited." Joey nodded his head, "You two ok." I looked at him and smiled, "We are good."

Jared grabbed me by my waist and pulled me into him as he kissed my forehead, "We are more than good." Joey laughed, "Jared, I think it would be a good idea for you to stay with me with Sabrina where Jessica is still in the hotel." Jared nodded, "I agree. Sabrina and I will start looking for a new home."

I looked at Jared puzzled as he smiled, "I want to be with you and our little one every day and every night." He placed his hand on my stomach as one of the staff members walked by smiling.
