Chapter 9 How Could She Hate Her Family

"Sophia?"

At that exact moment, a man's voice resounded from behind her. His voice sounded low and pleasant, just like a cello, and it had the ability to tug at people's heartstrings.

Suffice to say, Sophia was beyond familiar with this voice. In fact, just five years ago, she was absolutely crazy for its owner. Back then, she gave up all of her self-esteem for his sake, but after her adoration and obsession was taken advantage of by others and she was badly hurt, she no longer thought that his voice was pleasant to hear.

"Sophia? Is that you?" the man said as he made his way over to her.

After wiping her eyes, Kylie smiled and loped her hand through the man's arm. "Langston, Sophia is here," she said obediently.

Sophia turned around and gave him a polite nod, "Hello, Mr. Langston Qi. I didn't expect to see you here."

Langston was still the same handsome and gentle guy from years ago, but he was no longer the one Sophia was obsessed with. The Langston she loved had already died five years ago when she flew to America and left everything behind.

The man in front of her was Kylie's fiance, the rich and refined young master from the Qi clan.

Meanwhile, the moment Langston caught sight of Sophia, his eyes widened. He had not seen her for a long time.

She used to look up at him and follow him everywhere he went, but now, she seemed a little distanced. She had changed a lot. Her eyes no longer looked as pure and passionate as it did before. Instead, they were filled with a kind of indifference.

News about her scandals in the past few years had reached his ears, and he was aware that she was in the entertainment circle now, but he had never given himself a reason to look for the girl who was in front of him now. On one hand, he couldn't help thinking of the rumors going around in the past, and on the other hand, he had heard that her private life was a complete and utter mess.

The truth was he had no idea how to face the girl.

But now that he was really here in front of her, it felt like his heart had been hit by something.

"Langston, Sophia doesn't want to go back home with us. Do you want to try to persuade her? She used to listen to you the most." Kylie was going to play the drama to the ending.

Langston's trip down memory lane was cut short and he nodded hastily, "Okay."

"Sophia, it's rare for us to meet like this by chance. Why don't you go back to Ye family with us? I believe you must have a lot to talk about with Langston." With a malicious look in her eyes, Kylie pressed her head against Langston's arm.

Sophia simply touched her hair and said with a smile, "Why would I go back with you? So I can watch you two show off your love? Or to watch your parents show of their love? Kylie, I'm not stupid."

Hearing Sophia's words, Kylie bit her lip and said to Langston Qi with tears shining in her eyes, "Langston, what should we do? Sophia doesn't want to go back home with us. It seems like she still hates us."

"No, she doesn't. That's just her way of talking. How could she hate her own family?" said Langston in a soft voice.

Sophia smiled ironically and said, "Don't think me as someone so kind. I just really hate them. Mr. Qi, you never experienced the things that I did. You would never understand! Please stay out of my business with the Ye family!"

Before she could completely lose control of her emotions, Sophia decisively turned around and made her way towards the bus stop.

The people of the Ye clan showed their kindness to everyone except her. All the daughters of Ye clan were excellent except for her! In the past few years, she would fall into the traps set by Kylie every single time. The Ye Clan brought out the worst in her. Why wouldn't she hate them? She was not stupid!

Family! Ha ha...

How ignorant and blind she was when she was young! How could she fall in love with such an idiot back then?

Sophia casually got on a bus at once. She had no idea where she should go next. All she knew was that she wanted to get away from them, just like she did in the past.

"You have arrived at the HS Business District terminal. Please get off the bus,"

the radio on the bus said. All of a sudden, Sophia came to her senses and looked outside. 'I will just go shopping. Nothing can burn negative energy like a good shopping spree.'

With that in mind, Sophia got out of the bus.

However, as soon as she arrived at the center of the HS Business District, she caught sight of a child crying. For some reason, the child looked familiar.
