Chapter 5 Forgive You

"Mom, is that what you think?" Armani was too tired to explain her point to them. Suddenly, she just pushed Jessie aside. Jessie looked shocked at what Armani did. That was so unexpected from her.

"Armani! What are you doing? You actually want us dead so that you can get our shares, right?" After Edith saw what happened to Jessie, she instantly walked in Armani's direction and almost hit her.

Luckily, May noticed the awful situation. Immediately, she stopped Edith. "Please calm down, ma'am. I'm sure Miss Armani didn't do it intentionally."

But Edith stopped her from talking and slapped her face. "Don't you dare meddle with our business. You're just our maid!"

Hearing the insult Edith had given to May, Armani faced her seriously.

Edith knew how Armani valued May. She regretted what she had done and now her heart throbbed. But she remained composed. "So what now Armani? Did you choose her over me? Then I dare you to hit me!" she taunted.

Armani just smirked. Emotionless, she said, "I'm not that brutal. I still treat you as my family."

She got her phone and fidgeted with something on it until they heard a recording.

It was from a man's voice saying, "Armani, I know it's my fault. No matter what happens, you know you are the only one I love. What happened with me and Jessie was just an accident. I will make it up to her. I will give her whatever she wants to leave us alone. Please don't leave me, Armani."

Ben's pleading voice was so clear. He didn't want Armani to leave him.

She turned off her phone when the audio file had ended and said, "I can give him another chance if I want to, what do you think? Although he cheated on me, I still can sense the sincerity in his voice. I'm still willing to be his wife."

Jessie looked like she could faint anytime soon. "No, you won't. How can you forgive him? You don't allow cheating in your love relationship. Have you forgotten? He slept with me!" she mocked.

Armani crossed her arms and confidently faced her. "You knew I don't allow cheating in my love relationship, so you slept with him purposely, right? But if I don't mind about it and I'm still in love with him, who will look pity at the end?"

Jessie's knees weakened. She couldn't help but sob.

Edith was startled. If Armani would marry Ben then what would happen to them? She knew that Armani loathed them so much. All that was waiting for them were miserable consequences.

"Listen, it's my fault. But Armani! I like Ben so much, I know I'm wrong for assuming that I can be his wife. I'm sorry." Jessie held her sister's legs and begged for forgiveness.

Armani grimaced at what Jessie did.

She knew her limitations. No one deserves to kneel for forgiveness. After all, Jessie was still her sister.

She remembered her father's last wish, to take care and be considerate of her younger sister.

He was at the edge of dying but still managed to say, "Armani, I know you are capable of taking good care of them and Xu Group. Can you promise me that you will?" Her father looked helpless as she held his wrinkled hands.

She had a stable job abroad but still chose to stay and fulfill her father's will.

With a deep breath, she said, "Okay, for my father's sake, I forgive you." Armani helped her sister to stand up but immediately pulled out her hand from her then whispered, " Ben and I are over, including the engagement. You can do what you want, but... Don't bother me. Understand?"

Jessie nodded her head like a scared kitten.

Armani looked at Edith again.

Edith calmed herself, but feeling nervous on the inside.

Armani faked her smile and walked straight at Edith. "Mom, you have to be mature enough. You are the face of this family after Dad died," she said. She turned around and faced May this time. "Aunt May, you have to put a cold compress on your face."

The servant nodded and headed downstairs.

Meanwhile, Armani asked the mother and daughter to leave and slammed the door shut.

Edith was surprised at her attitude. "What's her problem? Did she forget I am her mother?"

Jessie shivered a lot after what happened. She then took her mom back to her room.

"Mom, promise me that you won't make any trouble so I can perfectly do my plan. After I marry Ben, I will be a part of the Ming family. Everyone will respect us. I assure you." Somehow, her eyes were full of determination.

'If I become the mother-in-law of the CEO of Ming Group, I can do and buy whatever I like!' Edith thought with a giggle. "I am proud of you. You caught a rich man!" she exclaimed excitedly.

Jessie proudly smiled at her mother.

In a tea room, a tea expert was gracefully filling the teapot.

The ambiance was quiet and elegant.

A man picked up the cup and sipped on it.

A woman was fondly looking at him, but his attention was only on his laptop.

"Mr. Mo." Kevin Cui opened the door and walked in.

Jacob had asked him to investigate the woman he had a one-night stand with.

Kevin, being the manager of DS Nightclub, easily finished his investigation.

But since Kevin suddenly revealed a serious expression, Jacob asked, "What's wrong? Who is she?"
