Chapter 6 We Will Always Support Each Other

Smack!

For a while, the entire room could only hear of the sound of two people kissing.

Irene was melting. If it weren't for the stool she was sitting on, she would have melted into a puddle on the floor.

Unbeknownst to her, their kiss caused a commotion in the hall.

The women around could not help but envy her. "Look! That girl's boyfriend is so handsome and romantic."

"Look at how that man coaxes his wife into kissing. And look at you! You don't even know how to apologize properly."

The officer coughed to gain the kissing lovers' attention. He slid two forms into their direction. "Since you are both here voluntarily, please fill out these forms. And then you can take your picture over there."

The next few steps flew like a breeze in Irene's memory. Her mind was stuck on their kiss earlier. She still thought of Aaron's handsome face.

After they got out of the office, she looked down at the marriage certificate she had on hand. She had definitely married him.

In their picture, her smile was a little stiff and awkward. Aaron smiled very naturally beside her. Apparently, a shotgun marriage like this didn't faze him.

"Where are you going now?" Aaron asked.

"I have to go back to college and pack my backs. It's the end of my campus life, so I need to leave the dorm in a few days," Irene answered after pulling herself out of her thoughts.

"I'll come with you."

"Oh, no need! My university is too far away. It will take an hour by bus. And it wouldn't feel comfortable to take a crowded bus in such a hot weather," Irene said as she placed the marriage certificate in her bag.

Aaron was leaning against the wall and said, "That's great. You already know how to consider your husband's well-being by now."

Irene's face turned red. She took Aaron's phone from him and went to register a number. "Don't be stupid. Anyway, this is my number. Call me if you need anything."

After taking the phone from her, Aaron placed it in his pocket and held her small hand in his big one. "You're my wife now. Of course, I'll help you when you move."

"But..." she started to complain.

"Don't think about refusing my offer. We're married now. We should be supporting each other all the time."

Irene curled her lips on this. 'He may look easygoing, but he could be a bit bossy.'

Just then, a Porsche stopped in front of them. Irene thought this was strange. The driver inside, Carl, lowered a car window. He glanced at Irene and waved his hand at Aaron. "Buddy! I heard congratulations are in order."

Aaron's smile disappeared and was replaced by a cold expression again. He glanced at Jackson at the front passenger seat and asked, "What are you doing here?"

"Aaron, please. Your marriage is a big deal. We know you need some help, and that's why we're here,"

Carl explained. His eyes flashed wickedly. Irene's hands turned cold as she studied him. Judging from his tone, he must be one of Aaron's friends. She quickly darted a look at Aaron beside her and said nothing.

The sun was high in the sky. Aaron noticed Irene's face was starting to turn red from the heat. He opened the car door and led both of them in.

"Go to A University," Aaron commanded coldly.

Carl smiled wickedly. He started the car again and said, "Hello, Irene! We're Aaron's friends. This one here is Jackson Jiang and I'm Carl Cheng."

Irene looked at the back of Jackson's head and Carl's smiling face in the rearview mirror. 'Jackson looks more reliable than Carl,' she thought.

"Hello," Irene said timidly.

She wondered how Carl knew her name the first time he saw her earlier.

"We grew up together with Aaron. If you need any help in the future, you can just tell us. And if you want to know anything about Aaron, just hit us up. We know everything about him, even his secrets..."

"Carl! Shut up now." Aaron called sharply. His cold tone scared Irene a bit.

"Oh, you're getting angry with me now. If you shouted at me again, I'll send that picture of you butt naked when you were a kid to your wife. Let's see what she says about her husband's penis painting of an elephant."

When Carl finished, Jackson was hooting in laughter.

Irene wanted to join in their laughter but she didn't know how to act around her husband yet. Would that offend him somehow? She could only lower her head as she tried to hide her snicker.

Carl's words made Aaron embarrassed. If he could, he would have thrown his friend out of the car.

Meanwhile, Carl was enjoying himself. Aaron used to tease him all the time and now he found the perfect timing to get back at him. 'It's payback time, Aaron! Ha-ha!'
