Chapter 6 Xyla's Late Mom Necklace is Gone

Rose just stole another precious thing from Xyla. This time, it was a fancy necklace with a big sapphire stone.

But unlucky for her, Eve saw it.

"Please don't take that, madam. It belongs to Miss Xyla!" Eve tried to grab it back.

"What the hell are you saying?! If it's Xyla's, then it's mine too. You want me to fire you, huh?!" Rose barked, not even guilty, just threatening her.

"Please, madam..." Eve's tears started rolling. She was scared. She needed this job badly-her mom's hospital bills were no joke.

"I beg you, don't fire me," Eve cried, even grabbing Rose's leg.

"Let go! You low-class maid! Get lost!" Rose shoved her away hard.

"...If you dare tell anyone, you'll regret it," Rose hissed sharply.

---

"Mom, do you like the gift?" Xyla asked, handing Rose a branded bag. She and Damian had just gotten back earlier that afternoon from their long honeymoon trip.

"I love it so much, honey. Thank you... You really know what Mama likes," Rose said happily, hugging her daughter-in-law.

It was one of Rose's favorite luxury bags, worth almost $10,000. But that amount was nothing to Xyla. As long as her mother-in-law was happy, she'd do anything.

"Glad you like it, Ma. Oh, by the way, where's Eve?" Xyla looked around. The house felt too quiet.

"She went out," Rose answered casually.

Xyla just nodded. Then her eyes caught Damian coming down the stairs in a hurry, looking neat and smelling good.

"Where are you going, Damian?" she asked.

Rose also noticed how dressed-up Damian looked.

"Meeting a friend, business deal, babe," Damian answered.

"But aren't you tired? We just got home..."

"Nope. This is an important business deal, Xyla. I gotta go." Damian kissed her cheek.

"I'm off, okay..." He waved and disappeared out the door before Xyla could even reply.

Rose just grinned, still admiring the expensive bag, snapping photos of it like a teenager.

---

"Baby!!!" Ivy squealed, jumping onto Damian, who was already lying on her bed.

Yeah, he wasn't meeting a business partner. Unless "business in bed" counted.

She kissed him fast, not wanting to waste time.

"Let's just get to it..." Damian pulled down her straps, revealing her chest.

"So impatient, huh? Fine, I'll just take it all off," Ivy teased playfully.

She straddled his six-pack stomach. "Give me your warmth, Damian," he growled before kissing her rough.

Half an hour later, they were both lying there, drenched in sweat. Damian stared into Ivy's eyes.

"Thanks, babe. Your service today really satisfied me," he kissed her lips quickly.

"So, whose is better? Mine or your wife's?" Ivy asked, touching his lips softly.

"Of course yours. Yours is addicting..." Damian kissed her hand.

Then he stood up, grabbed something from his jeans pocket, and handed it to her.

"Here..." a small navy-blue box. Inside was a sparkling diamond ring.

"Oh my God, thank you, baby!" Ivy gasped, hugging him tight and showering his face with kisses.

"Only kisses? Hm?" Damian pouted fake.

Ivy chuckled, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Wanna go for round two?" she winked, smiling seductively.

Instead of answering, Damian kissed her hungrily.

"Ahh, Damian!" Ivy moaned, only fueling his fire.

"This is why I can't get enough of you," Damian whispered against her ear before kissing down her neck.

---

Meanwhile, Xyla had just woken up. The clock on the wall showed 6 PM.

"Where's Damian? Why isn't he home yet?" she mumbled, heading to the closet.

But then she froze.

"My necklace... where is it?"

She searched everywhere. The necklace was gone.

"Did someone... steal it?" Xyla panicked.

She ran downstairs.

"Eve! Eve!"

Eve rushed over. "Yes, Miss?"

"Have you seen my sapphire necklace?"

Eve froze. Rose, hearing that, quickly joined them.

"What's wrong, Xyla?" she asked.

"My necklace is gone, Ma," Xyla said sadly.

Rose's face stiffened. She glanced at Eve, who looked down nervously.

'Damn it. The inheritance isn't even in my son's hands yet. I can't get caught now,' Rose thought.

"It must be her, Xyla," Rose accused, pointing at Eve.

Eve's eyes widened. She didn't expect Rose to make her the scapegoat.

"I didn't steal it, Miss! I swear!" Eve cried, hoping Xyla would believe her.

"Liar! Nothing ever went missing in this house until you came. Ever since you worked here, stuff just keeps disappearing," Rose snapped again.

Eve's tears streamed down. Why was Rose this cruel?

"I swear, Miss! I didn't steal it. It was Madam Rose who did-"

SLAP!

Xyla slapped Eve across the face.

Eve felt pain not only on her cheek but deep in her heart. Xyla didn't believe her.

"How dare you accuse my mother-in-law?!" Xyla yelled furiously.

"...You better get out of this house right now!"

Rose smirked, enjoying the scene.

Eve dropped to her knees. "Miss, please... I don't want to leave. I need this job. My mom's in the hospital..."

"Not my problem. You accused my mother-in-law, Eve. I thought you were a good girl. Turns out you're nothing but trouble. Leave, before I call the cops!" Xyla snapped coldly.

Crying hard, Eve packed her clothes into a big bag. Xyla shoved some money at her.

"Here's your last pay!"

Eve left the house in tears, bumping into Damian who had just arrived.

"What's going on?" he asked.

Xyla told him everything.

"Calm down, babe. We'll find it later, okay?" Damian tried to soothe her.

"But it was my mom's necklace, Damian... it was my mom's..." Xyla cried in his arms.

Damian just hugged her tighter. "We'll find out where the thief sold it, okay?"

"You'll help me, right?"

"Of course. There's nothing I wouldn't do for you."

"Thank you, baby. That necklace means so much to me. I can't lose it..."

Damian glanced at his mom, who was secretly peeking from behind the wall. Just like he expected.

Later that night, while Xyla was asleep, Damian entered his mom's room.

"Mom, why are you still doing this?" he went straight to the point.

"What do you mean, Damian?" Rose asked casually, applying her night cream at the vanity.

"You took Xyla's necklace, didn't you?"

Rose turned to him. "It's mine too. So what's the problem?" she said, no guilt at all.

"Don't do this, Ma. If you get caught, then what? You already made a victim today. What's next?" Damian warned.

"You told me to be patient. Our plan is almost done, right?" Damian tried to calm her.

"Patient for what? You promised me after marrying that girl, you'd buy me anything I want. Where is it, huh?!" Rose snapped.

The middle-aged woman sat on her bed, her voice sharp.

Good thing her room was soundproof. No one would hear even if she yelled.

"Calm down, Ma. It's not that simple. I need time. First, I have to win Sammy's trust. Once he believes in me, he'll make me CEO of the company," Damian knelt in front of her, holding her knee.

Rose let out a long, heavy sigh. "Fine... I'll wait. But not too long."
