Chapter 5

Dave Lopez's POV

I finally found you, my fiancée... I smiled as I thought to myself that I finally found her.

When I was alone on the deserted island, she came to me and rescued me. Without her, I would have probably died. I was only 17 at the time, and she was just 10 years old. She doesn't remember me, but I'm so glad to have finally met her again. I searched for so long, trying to figure out who she was, but I couldn't find her... until her father brought her to me. He went to his company, and my secretary spoke with him because I don't meet with people unless it's really important. He proposed a business deal, but I rejected it because his offer wasn't profitable, and I didn't like how greedy he was about business. I didn't want any snakes involved in my company. Then he mentioned marriage. I still rejected it, but when he showed her picture to my secretary, I realized she was the girl I had been searching for... I want to marry her, but she's still too young. At least I know who she is now... and I will never let her go.

I also found out the real mastermind behind what happened to me when I was 17 - my uncle, my father's eldest brother. He wanted to threaten my father into giving up the business and passing it to him. I was the only son, so my father had no choice but to pass it to my uncle, but my uncle didn't keep his promise. He still wanted to kill me. I wasn't powerful enough back then to defend myself. And this girl... she's only 10 years old but so resourceful. I found out her uncle is a military general, and he took her to train her. At that time, I was helpless and worthless.

Since the day I was rescued, I never saw her again. I tried to change myself. I trained hard and studied hard. After 2 years, I turned the tables. I reclaimed the company from my uncle, who was losing it because of his underground businesses and illegal dealings overseas. I took care of everything and became the manager of his underground businesses. Everyone calls me "Emperor" and "Business Killer." The chair of Empress is still vacant, but I'll wait for her... I'm willing to wait until she says yes to my proposal. I'm looking forward to it.

I always watch her activities, and it feels like she's not the same anymore. It's as if she's carrying something heavy, and I can see the anger in her eyes. I will help her take revenge. I'm willing to be her sharpest weapon. And this boy, Xander, I will make his life a living hell.

Ashley Wilson's POV

The next morning, I prepared to go to school.

When I arrived at school, I saw Clover waving at me. As usual, all the students were looking at us. I walked confidently, unlike before when I would just lower my head when they stared at me. I also changed my lifestyle. Before, I always tied my hair in a ponytail and wore glasses. I always wore long skirts... I was a total nerd, so I was the number one target for bullies, and my academics weren't great. I didn't participate in sports and was always the last to finish exams.

When we entered the classroom, they were shocked by my appearance. Lesley's eyes were full of disdain as I walked past her. She placed her foot in my way, but I stepped on it, making her scream in pain. I just smiled at her.

"Students, listen up. You have a new classmate. Come in," the teacher said.

A woman entered, and I was shocked to see that it was none other than Jaine, my half-sister.

"Hello, fellow classmates! Nice to meet you. My name is Jaine Dizon, 18 years old. Please guide me, thank you!" she said flirtatiously, and everyone in the room started cheering. What a b*tch. Yes, she's a year ahead of me. How clever, right? I'm the legitimate child, but the illegitimate child is a year older than me.

She stopped beside my seat and smiled at me.

"Hello, what's your name?" she asked.

I just glared at her. As if she didn't know me... like, duh. You can see the anger in her eyes.

"Looks like there's a fly buzzing around," Clover whispered, clearly referring to Jaine.

Jaine sat down, visibly annoyed and angry. We just laughed.

"I don't like her. She looks like a slut," Clover whispered.

"You said it, but I'll tell you a secret. She's my half-sister," I whispered back.

"What?" she gasped.

"Shhhh."

She immediately covered her mouth.

"Oh my god, seriously?"

"Yeah, I'll tell you the details later."

Jaine Dizon POV

What the heck, b*tch... You humiliated me earlier... wait and see... I'll make sure to ruin your life.

I glared angrily at Ashley, who was laughing.

After class, I talked to three guys, and now I'm with Xander. I want to kill that b*tch, Ashley.

"Make sure you three make her life miserable. Then, when she asks for help, you, Xander, pretend like you just happened to pass by and save her."

"Why, babe? Why do I have to do that?"

"Of course, to make sure we have her by the throat. After she falls for you, we'll push her to her death."

"As you wish, babe."

Don't beg me for mercy, b*tch.

After that, we'll go after your mom. I want to be like Wilson to keep up with Xander's status... His mom mocked me because I'm the illegitimate child of my dad, and I don't carry his surname... It's so annoying.

I kicked a stone at my feet.

"Hey, babe, relax. Why are you so worked up?"

"Because of that b*tch! Why can't she just die? And you... you didn't even defend me when your mom was insulting me!" I shouted at him.

"I'm sorry, okay? You know my mom's temper. As long as you're not a legitimate child, she won't accept you. She's more concerned about status," he said, holding me in his arms. That's why his mom needs to die.

Ashley POV

I was walking down the school hallway when suddenly someone covered my nose, and I couldn't fight back. I lost consciousness.

When I woke up, I was in an abandoned warehouse. My hands and feet were tied, and my mouth was taped shut. I knew who was behind this.

I used the techniques my uncle taught me to free myself from the ropes.

I heard footsteps approaching. The door suddenly opened, and three guys walked in.

"Yowww, glad you're awake," one of them said.

I just smiled at him.

He was about to grab me when I suddenly broke his arm and kicked him. He writhed in pain. I grabbed a thick piece of wood from a pile in the warehouse and knocked the other two out as I got closer to them.

"Please, have mercy. We're not bad. We're just following orders," one of them cried.

"But it's too late."

I immediately hit them with the wood, knocking them unconscious. Oops, I might have hit them too hard.

"Ashley, don't worry. I will... save... you."

Here comes the hero-it's Xander... He was shocked when he saw the three guys knocked out on the floor.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"Don't touch me, jerk."

I was about to hit him with the wood when suddenly someone kicked him, sending him flying and knocking him out cold. That was a strong kick! When I looked, it was Dave's secretary. What was he doing here?

He bowed to me as a sign of respect.

"Miss, Master is waiting for you inside the car. Please go meet him. I will take care of this trash."

"Okay, Mr. Secretary."

I left to meet Dave.

When he saw me, he immediately hugged me.

"Thank God you're okay," he said, trembling.

"Hey, relax. I can take care of myself."

I was confused by his behavior.

"Do you know who did this to you?" he asked.

"Of course, it was my half-sister and Xander."

"Hmm, Xander? I can take care of him."

"What do you mean?"

"You'll find out tomorrow," he said, smiling.

"Hey, I know you're powerful, but killing is illegal. I want them to suffer more than death."

"Yeah, I know... so next time, you can use me anytime."

What did he mean by that?

He escorted me home. This time, I won't let this slide.

I grabbed my headphones and laptop. I saw Jaine walking around, restless.

"What should I do, mom? Xander hasn't called yet. I don't know if he managed to fool Ashley."

So her plan is to make me fall in love with Xander... she wants to set me up again.
