Chapter 4 Four

~ GLADWELL FAMILY HOUSE ~

"You said you could explain start doing that. Why are you standing there saying nothing?" Santiago yelled at Mia who was staring at Hugo with piercing eyes.

"What's he doing here Dad?" She asked after a long pause.

"Mia that's no way to speak to someone you should be apologizing to. Do you even realize what you've done?" Her step- mother Elizabeth chipped in.

"I wasn't talking to you," Mia snapped.

"You had sex publicly like a whore and now you think you can insult my wife!! Your mother!!," Santiago said slapping her across her face.

"Step-mother!! She's not and will never be my mum. If you've forgotten who gave birth to me, I will never forget," She snapped, holding her face.

Hugo stood rooted like he didn't know what was happening. It was natural for Mia to hate him, but to the Gladwell family, he was still the perfect match for their daughter 'How smart of you, Hugo' he praised himself.

"I've made up my mind. Since Hugo is willing to accept you after all this madness and disgrace you've brought upon this family, I've decided to shift your wedding date closer," Santiago announced. Hugo smiled secretly.

Mia stared in disbelief and shock, 'he wasn't even going to ask what had resulted in her behaving the way she did?'

"I think we should give Mia some time. She might be going through some issues, we shouldn't rush her marriage," Elizabeth begged, holding Santiago's hands.

"I support what mother said I think Mia and I still have few things to settle before marriage," Hugo said flashing Mia a light smile.

Mia looked from Hugo with disgust to Elizabeth, then Santiago, "You all are crazy!!" She cried picking up her bag.

"I don't regret hooking up with that stranger, my biggest regret is meeting you all in my life," She finished and walked out, not looking back.

"I'll go after her," Hugo said running after Mia till he caught up with her.

"Mia," He called, holding her hands, but she flung his hands off.

"What? Are you done pretending?" She snapped, sniffing back tears.

"Mia, you should stop acting childish and get over this nonsense. I had a threesome but you gave yourself to a total stranger like a bitch," Hugo scolded.

Mia scoffed in utter disbelief, 'The Hugo she once knew and was deeply in love with would never scold her or raise his voice, talk more of calling her a bitch to her face.' Yes, he wouldn't have done that.

"I can see you're done pretending to be what you're not,"

"Come on Mia you and I know you can't do without me. You're nothing without me," Hugo continued, a cruel smile on his face.

Mia scoffed taking slow strides towards him "You're mistaken Hugo, you are nothing without me," She spat in his face. "You, your stupid family, your broke ass internet fraudster of a brother, filthy sister, and your poor parents are nothing without me. Read my lips Hugo you are nothing and will forever remain nothing without me," She hissed then walked away from him to her waiting car.

"Fucking spoilt brat," Hugo cursed gritting his teeth as he watched her leave.

"There's nothing you can do once the marriage is set," He mouthed, going back inside after fixing his expression to the usual calm and pretentious Hugo's.

~PRIVATE VACATION SITE TREVANCE ~

Emil, Luca, and Felix stood still like the world depended on them. Their gaze was steadily staring in one particular direction for fear that if they looked away from him for one second, it might be their last.

Levi wasn't bothered cause they deserved whatever treatment they were getting.

"Levi, we already said sorry, why the punishment?" Felix mouthed, summoning courage. He nudged Luca seeking some support but Luca moved away from him and kept staring like he didn't know what was happening.

"Yeah we're so sorry," Emil chipped in trying to suppress his body vibration.

"What are you all sorry for? The fact that you tricked me or the fact that you added me to your silly bet?" Levi asked calmly sipping his wine.

'I knew we shouldn't have made that crazy bet that involved this asshole of a friend,' Luca pondered, giving the remaining two hate stares.

~ FLASHBACK ~

Felix emptied his glass of wine in one gulp with a proud smile on his face while the ladies kept cheering him on.

"Felix is crazy," Luca laughed, drinking his wine.

Emil nodded but didn't say anything; instead, his concentration was on the lady giving him a head.

"Bastard," Luca scoffed looking away.

"I'm the ladies guy," Felix joked taking his seat beside Luca.

"I wish Levi would join us," Felix said his expression serious.

"I don't appreciate his presence, but if he were here, that bastard wouldn't be doing that here," Luca said, pointing at Emil, who was jerking in the lady's mouth.

He pushed her off, put on his pants then faced Luca with a serious look "Trust me if Levi the stone was here he would be doing the same thing," He said looking around with lust "Trust me this place is lit,"

"You must be joking," Felix laughed. "Levi is like a rock when it comes to women. I think he wouldn't do anything but sit and drink a glass then go back to his office with a long face,"

"He can have fun when he wants to he just likes to behave like a dick whenever he's with us," Luca hissed.

"Look who's talking, you once used to behave like a church rat whenever Levi was around," Emil mocked, laughing.

"Once? Or still does. He still looks away when Levi stares at him like a pussy," Felix said joining the mockery.

"That's not what we're saying," Luca said, ignoring them. "If Levi were here, would he pick a girl?" Luca asked looking serious.

"Let's find out," Emil said picking up his phone.

"Hello Levi," He said faking his voice.

"Dude I'm sorry to disturb your busy schedule but I need your help I'm in deep shit here,"

"Where are you?" Levi asked coldly from the other end.

"Hakibis,"

"Fine," Levi answered, then hung up.

"The bait is set," Felix smiled.

"What's the bet?" Emil asked facing them.

"When he arrives here, will he pick up a girl or leave angrily?" Luca stated pointing at the two.

"None of us wanna be here when he arrives right?" Felix asked already walking towards the door.

"I totally agree," Emil said following him out. Luca watched the two of them with a smile on his face. The truth was that they were all scared of Levi, even after being friends for over five years.

' I didn't even expect them to agree so quickly. If he finds out we're all dead meat, Luca thought in fear.

Luca looked around one last time, picked up his things, and walked out chasing after them. He wouldn't want to be the one Levi meets there.
