Chapter 7 7

I had been kneeling down in a room, my hands tied to my back as I awaited my fate, I was expecting the Luna to walkthrough that door or the Alpha. It was burdensome to have two enemies at the same place, two people that have caused me harm. I could never know which one was responsible for each action but I know that one person's hatred was stronger than the other.

The door finally open and Chief Edward walked in, I waited for the next person behind him when he shut the door. My brows knotted in confusion.

"Where is..." I tried to ask but stop myself.

I exhaled sharply putting together that this was Chief Edward's office, it had a brown desk with a chair. A shelf of books and a couch behind me.

If I was really arrested then this would be the last place I would be.

"What is going on?"

"I need you"

I looked at me more distraught than I already was.

"I need by my side as one of the guards" he clarified and boy was I pissed.

Is that what this was all about?

"Then why did you arrest me?"

He leaned back on his chair to answer my question.

"Because if I had asked calmly, you wouldn't want to come back with me seeing you had already escaped the border." He tilted his head.

"I knew you were going to leave but I didn't expect for it to happen so soon, and how could you leave without saying goodbye?"

This could probably have been one of the reasons. When Edward began training me a year ago, he never asked for anything in return, it made me anxious each night. I kept asking what he wanted and he claimed he would tell me in time. I was scared that I might have to give my soul to him like I had once traded to Thane in the name of love.

I had to leave to free myself.

"I didn't see the need to? There was nothing here for me again"

"Wrong" he corrected.

"What do you want?"

"For you to work here" he exclaimed. I wasn't going to think about his request, the answer was already at the tip of my tongue.

"No" I responded.

He crossed his legs and smiled, he had expected that, he certainly looked prepared.

"Then you leave me no choice, you either work for me as a guard in this pack house or I arrest you for illegally crossing the border and killing my men. It is your decision"

This was far from a choice of mine, he had taken away every part that I could play in and left me with the crumbs. If news of my arrest should reach the ears of the Alpha and Luna then I would punished severely and Edward wouldn't be able to stop it.

On the other hand, I could work and get paid though I would be seeing the faces of the two people I hated most in the whole world.

That seemed more like a better choice.

"Arrest me" I said instead. The last thing I wanted was to face them, I am so done with this pack, besides I knew Edward didn't have it in his Guts to arrest me.

He looked shocked that I would pick the latter, and so did I but I felt more at peace with it.

"Fine, you will begin work by Monday" he threw out.

He had completely ignored my answer and chosen what suited him best. Hell no, I wasn't going to accept them. He cannot make decisions for me, I make my own decisions. I am not spending another day in this pack.

He didn't bother about it and got to his feet.

"Did you hear me, I said arrest me" I yelled before he could get to the door.

"I know, I accept. You have been arrested to work here. I need someone like you here, someone that I have trained.

You saw what you did to my men, there are weak and feeble even in their wolf state. But you, you can save lives, so I need you here by my side" his words made sense but I refused to agree with him.

"Chief Edward" I called out, he smiled at me.

"You can untie yourself too, I can bet you are half way through with the ropes"

The door was slammed shut.

Like hell I was going to agree to work here, there was no way.

A week had passed since I began working in the pack house, thankfully for its mast size I had been able to avoid the Alpha and Luna but I knew sooner or later I was going to see them.

I was taking my usual routine inside the house when a hand grabbed me into a room.

Thane.

His hands wrapped around my neck as he crashed me against the wall,

"What the hell are you doing here? Are you begging so much to die by my hand? Is that what this is about? Why can't you just accept the truth and stop making things complicated for yourself."

Seeing him reminded me so much of the hatred I had in my heart,

"Do you think everything is about you?" I answered. He seemed perplexed that he wasn't the center of my attention anymore.

I slammed his hand down, falling back to the ground.

If he thought just for one second that I even cared about him then he must be wrong.

"Then what the hell are you doing here if not for me, do you still think that you can claim me back.

You are a pathetic bitch"

How my hand reached up and slapped him across the face was something I couldn't control but after it happened, I felt good.

"You dare to hit your Alpha" he was furious, eyes bulging out in rage.

"No, I dare to hit the loser who thinks he is an Alpha just because he was chosen. You are not an Alpha to me, you are nothing but a puppet. A boy chose to be a slave to a woman so that he can gain some power. "

"I see you have grown some nerves, I will make sure to teach you a lesson, you were given a lesser punishment last time but not this time, I won't let you escape death this time" he yanked me by the hair and smashed my head against the wall.

My vision blurred for a minute.

I noticed something different about him, he was stronger now. As an Alpha he had been trained in martial combat to able to defend the pack at any given time but I was not some weak woman who would let him hit me.

I shoved the hair dangling against my face behind my ears, and kicked him in the jaw with my right leg, he wasn't expecting but he was quick enough to react.

I see his wolf dragging to surface, he rushed towards me but before he could touch me, I had pulled a knife from my back pocket and aimed it at his throat.

"You wanna kill me?" He tilted his head observing if I had the guts.

I do.

"Have you ever killed someone before?"

A week ago, I never thought I would do such a thing but when you are running for your life, you do desperate things like kill four guards so you don't have to return to a cursed pack. Did it work? No?

"Try me" I swore underneath my breath.

"What the hell is going on here?" A voice asked from behind.

This feeling of Deja vu washed over me.

Born to a fault, I realized that the door was open all these while and things might be misread.

Whoever is behind that door will decide if I live or not, afterall it wasn't the first time I was caught in the Alpha's room.

No one will believe me this time, it was the Alpha's words against mine and I was already in the losing part.
