Lora's POV
"You are?" I asked, staring at her blankly as she moved closer.
"A close friend to the men who left." She said and I shook my head in disappointment, it turned out everyone gave in to power.
"You seem disappointed. Do you also think I befriended him to save my life?" She asked, making my head turn with shock. How did she know what I was thinking of?
"How did you..." I asked dumb founded and she just smiled.
"Well, I didn't. Mine is even more complicated." She said, "About what he said."
I gave her a glare with those words, I didn't want to be left in a close corner again where I wouldn't know what to do.
Either way, she spoke. "I actually don't know what tied you together, but I know for sure why you're scared of me."
She said, sitting slowly as she kept her eyes fixated on me. I took a deep breath in, staring in anticipation of what she would say. "And I can assure you that he isn't like that. Until you are ready, he will never force you."
"I know this might surprise you but despite his search and desperation to get a mate, he will definitely not force himself on you." She paused, staring deep into my eyes. Awaiting a reply.
"But he...he spoke in such a manner that seemed otherwise. And what if-I never do?" I asked rubbing my temples to keep me calm.
"He will make you love him. All he needs is a span of three months, if you don't fall for him before then. You can leave" He said and I smiled.
Three months! It was enough for me to carry out my plan and leave unscathed. In fact, it was too much.
I stared at her, feigning reluctance.
"I.."
"If you're ready, we can leave right now. And don't worry I give you my assurance." She said and I spared another glance as I stood up. Moving with her.
We walked for a few minutes before we arrived at an already prepared and ready room.
"He made this for you, almost like he knew you would agree." She said and I smiled as I nodded.
I moved into the room, scanning the room before she spoke up.
"See if it suits your taste, if it doesn't you can switch immediately. He will come soon to talk to you." She said and I nodded, moving towards the bathroom when a voice interrupted.
"Miss. She's asking for you." A maid reported and I turned back.
She raised her hand to the maid as she turned to me. "I'll be back." She said as she turned moving out before I called out.
"Wait. What's the name?" I asked and she turned back, a little smile on her face.
"Stapha."
She said walking away.

The door creaked open and she walked in. Her eyes focused and fixated on me. A wavering smile plastered on her face as she walked closer. Her figure told she wasn't someone just simple. She stopped, her gaze not shifting as she said.
"Hello, miss." She said, her voice cool yet unsettling.
I stared, unsure of whether to speak, stand or stay sitten. Something about her presence made the hairs on my body stand up.
"I'm Naya. And I was told to come serve you." Her smile grew larger, obviously with an evil intent.
I shifted back, faking a smile on my face.
"Thank you but I won't be needing service. I'm perfectly fine on my own."
I said moving into my room as I closed the door behind me.
"Miss." She called out maybe hoping for some validation from her leader but I wasn't interested.
His voice came through again. Making me nervous immediately. "Leave, I want to talk to her." He said, his voice commanding.
With those words, it only took a few more minutes before he walked in.
"How are you liking the place?" He asked, moving closer towards me as I nodded shifting backwards.
"It's alright." I said and he chuckled.
"Why are you shifting back? Am I that scary?" He asked and I shook my head unwilling to talk.
He sighed.
"I think she should have told you about what you need to do already. I need you to appear in the pack gathering tomorrow," he said.
I turned to him, feeling a little confused. "Wouldn't that just show my identity?" I asked and his eyes lit up.
"You can feel it now?" He asked, his eyes filled with anticipation but I shook my head either way.
Admitting I knew he was my mate would lead to a mating ceremony before I knew it.
"Not necessarily, it would just show you as my friend." He said, his voice a little lower than normal.
"Are you..." I wanted to ask but paused. "Alright, when is the gathering?"
He took a glance at me before he sighed and got up to his feet. "Today."
"Alright then I will start getting ready..." I said before I processed what he said. "Wait.
