Chapter 2 THE PLAN

Lora's POV

I strode into the residence. While the shifts changed, moving sharply forward, I made sure not to give off a single sound.

A beam of light flashed through my eyes in a split second and my eyes widened.

Why were the guards here earlier than before?

"Was I hallucinating, or did I just see a lady?" The guard, the reek of alcohol filled the air.

I didn't need anyone to tell me that this was my only chance to escape. While the other guard next to him tried turning on his flash, I leaped into the air. Crossing over the gate that leads to the Alpha's suite.

Though the residence was large, I had already mastered the landscape. It was crazy how the place was built.

The Alpha's suit is actually on the side rather than what you first came in contact with.

"Hey. There's truly someone there," the guard called out in a loss for words and I snapped. If they had already discovered me so fast, it would ruin my plan.

Nevertheless, I continued on my race, as I heard the guards' screams echoing in the silent vicinity. Thankfully for me, they couldn't cross over the gate just yet.

I sprinted across the place before finally coming to a stop. The Alpha's room is just a few climbs away from me.

Wrong. It was actually eight feet away from the window, but with my equipment, it was only a phase.

I pulled my bag drop, bringing out the ropes as I searched around the surroundings to find where to tie it to. Soon, I found it.

The fence.

The place was only filled with flowers, the only momentum I had was the fence. I tied the rope tight to the fence as I threw it up.

With just a throw, it hung by his slightly opened window.

I smirked, moving backwards as I felt a wash of pride in me, happy that the training really paid off but my smile soon faded.

Another light flashed before my eyes as the guards' eyes lit up in fear and excitement.

"There's the intruder." He said, his voice even making the plants shake. I took a glance at him and moved onto the rope, pulling forward as I tried reaching his room.

Sure enough, the guard wasn't relentless. Pulling out a knife, he cut the rope, trying his best to make it snap. The knife, however, couldn't cut through the rope easily, so I came prepared after all.

I rushed my steps, moving further feet away from the ground and closer to the room, but then I heard it snap.

Half of the rope had already been cut through, and another half, and I would be done for.

I moved faster, my pulse echoing in my ears as my goal got closer to sight.

"I'll help you." A voice came from below and I looked down to see two other guards. I panicked.

I took further steps, struggling not to look down as the duo brought out different weapons, ready to throw. Their hands stood in the air, ready to shoot, when the sound touched their ears.

The snapping of the rope. Faster than I could have expected.

I grabbed onto the balcony, dangling from the top as the rope dropped down. I looked down sharply, and the guards first knitted as one left.

Probably to call backup.

I need to act now.

I swung once more and placed my other hand on the balcony. Pulling out the strength left in me, I pulled myself up and tumbled over to the room.

I looked down, smiled, and waved at the guards as I walked in.

As expected, the Alpha's room wasn't heavily guarded like the outside. I scanned the room, in search of any unforeseen danger. My eyes then caught sight of something.

The Alpha. Lying in his bed like a cute little baby.

I felt the anger surge inside me as I matched forward. The idea of him relaxing in his bed while I struggled was sickening.

It made my blood boil to think of how he ruined my life and was just sleeping here like it was nothing.

I moved closer, danger in hand as I came in contact with his face.

That look. I could recognise it anywhere. It was the monster who killed my parents.

Anger surged through me as I raised the knife, ready to pierce him and send him to his parents to apologise, but then his eyes flashed open.

He raised his hand to mine and held it tightly.

"Not so fast." He whispered and my eyes widened. Of course, he wasn't asleep. What was I thinking?

My mind filled with countless thoughts as he stared at me emotionlessly. Suddenly, I felt it.

The pull to him, and a sensation in my ears. It was him, he was my MATE.

I fell silent, unwilling to say a word until it was confirmed; in fact, I was unwilling to say anything till I had his life.

I looked away, unsure of what to say but I looked back either way. My eyes were sharp as I opened my mouth to speak just before he cut me off.

"You're my mate!" He announced, his eyes lit up with joy, forgetting entirely about what had just happened.

The feared alpha was one without a mate for years, and he was already desperate for one but I wasn't going to be that one.

"No," I said, sternly trying to pull out of his grip, but he held on to me tighter. Pulling the knife out of my hands as he pulled me into a hug.

I struggled to try to break free. "I looked for you for so long, who knew you would come knocking at my door."

He said, his voice pitched like a child who had been given a candy.

My head rang with his words, anything but this. Everything but this.

I tried pulling out again, and this time succeeded, but the door burst open, and the guards moved in.

Their faces filled with confusion and fear.

"That's an intruder."
