It was day, and light sipped into the ward where the unknown patient was kept. She sat up gently with a smile, she could no longer feel pains like before though she was still wrapped up in bandages.
She stood up from the bed and walked towards the window. Everywhere just seemed new and strange to her. How she got to this place she just couldn't remember. She didn't even know who she was, it was like her brain eluded her.
Then she tried to stop thinking because each time she tried to remember something, her brain only ached the more. The door creaked open slowly, and a middle-aged doctor walked in.
She knew who he was, it was Greyson, the doctor who had been attending to her since she woke up. He was a good man, and she couldn't help smiling the moment he smiled too.
"I see you're awake, dear Ava." He smiled.
Immediately she heard that name, she gripped her head as she felt pain.
Greyson bit his lips harshly as he watched her. He knew the effect it had on her whenever he called her by her name. He didn't want to inflict more pain on her as she had gone through alot, but that was the only way she could regain her memories.
He knew that the incident that happened to her was much more than it looked. Ava had been brought to him by undercover agents, Karl and Jameson. She was literally disfigured when she was brought and there was no way for him to recognise her.
But he did. During the surgery, he noticed the way her ears were shaped; and realization struck him. There was only one person in the whole world whose ears could be shaped like that; Ava Monroe.
This was because he was the doctor in charge of her delivery when she was child. Her mother had been fed poison unknownwingly which affected the baby. When the child was born, she had a defective ear.
Young Greyson at that time couldn't let the child suffer, he secretly performed surgery on the ear, knowing how risky it was. Then he put two cross signs on the ear, to keep her safe. And here he was again, with the child he had saved.
He would save her over and over again, as what her mother did for him was something he wasn't sure he could ever repay.
"Ava? It's that my name? If so, it sucks." She frowned.
"Why do you say so?" Greyson laughed.
"It causes me pain anytime I here it." She crossed her arms.
"That's because it's part of what you forgot, Ava. You lost your memory." He said softly.
"Alright, enough with memory talks. I'm here with good news." He noticed the way her hazel eyes brightened.
"Don't keep me in suspense."
"Your bandages will be removed today." He dropped, and his heart melted as he watched her lips spread into a wide and beautiful smile.
It was a good thing to see her smiling. The past few days, it was a rare sight to see.
"So, I'll leave now and get the nurses to do the unbandaging. They'll come with clothes as well." He informed and she slowly nodded.
He gave her a meaningful look before leaving. Ava walked in front of the mirror which was placed in the ward yesterday. Her body was covered up in bandages, and she could only see her eyes and mouth.
The door was opened again, and two nurses walked in. One was holding towels, and clothes. She said nothing as they walked towards her, greeted her and began removing the bandages.
"We're done ma'am." One of the nurses said.
Meanwhile, Ava was staring at her naked self in the mirror. Her face looked sharper, her eyes cold and calculating. And her skin glowed.
"You can go, I'll do the rest by myself. Thank you." She managed to smile at the nursing.
So this was what Grey meant when he said she had undergone full body reconstruction. She had seen her body when she was brought here, it was that bad.

(Three years later)
"Ava!" Greyson called as he walked down the stairs, "You're late for training."
Ava sat at the table, unusually very quiet with blood flowing down from her head, staining her face.
"What the-" Greyson's eyes widened in horror as he got to the table where she sat.
"Ava! You're bleeding." He exclaimed.
"I know. I fell." She replied in a cold voice, staring at something on her phone.
Greyson rushed and got the first aid box, dabbing the cotton with alcohol and cleaning off the blood. Then he saw what she was looking at; and unaware picture of her and the infamous Ethan Smart on the internet.
Then it dawned on him; she was regaining her memories.
"Ava, where did you hit your head?" He asked.
There was no way this could happen unless she experienced a blunt trauma to the head.
Out of the blue, Ava gripped her head and fell of the chair. He tried to hold her in place, but she was unusually strong. She shook as she groaned in pain, everything came rushing in.
Her marriage to Edward, his smiles, his distance, her mother. The secret project, then finally, a pair of well-manicured hands and blue eyes; Celeste. The betrayal, she remembered and her heart clenched in pain.
Ethan knew, and that would explain the coldness. Her heart ached so bad. Grey had presented everything about her past life to her before, but she had failed to remember anything until after the fall.
"Ava." Grey called worriedly.
"There's no Ava, she's dead." Her voice came out coldly.
She chuckled dryly as she walked to stand in front of the mirror, admiring her features. Her heart was filled with hate, and her mind screamed: "Revenge!"
"It's Rina Blake." She blurted not knowing why she picked the name. It just came to her head.
"And I'm back."
