My husband was Jase Collins, and his first love, Thea Hudson, got engaged.

To make her regret it, Jase left me just after we got married. He went to Antarctica for a research project.

I visited him 66 times during that period, all to no avail.

Five years later, I stopped visiting him.

While I was enjoying my birthday party, Jase suddenly appeared.

Seeing my slightly rounded belly, he was heartbroken and furious. "I was isolated in Antarctica for five years, and you never once cared about me. Who is the father of the bastard in your belly?"

I calmly replied, "It has nothing to do with you. The law states that a couple can divorce after being separated for more than two years."

Upon hearing my words, Jase kicked over the birthday cake in a fit of rage. "Kaelyn, I've only been working away for five years, and you've already gotten yourself pregnant. You're truly disgraceful. Who is the father? I'll make sure he can't survive in Slegtown."

I was also annoyed as I watched my birthday party being ruined by Jase. I had prepared for it carefully. "Jase, this is not the place for such outbursts. If you're insane, perhaps you'd better see a doctor."

Hearing I mentioned a doctor, Jase became even more agitated.

He grabbed my arm and started dragging me outside. "You shameless woman, go to the hospital for an abortion right now."

Jase was so strong that I couldn't break free from him.

At that moment, Jase's grandmother, Lesley Collins, heard the noise and hurried over with her cane.

Seeing his rough actions, she became nervous instantly. "Jase, let go of Kaelyn. She is carrying..."

Jase slightly calmed when he saw Lesley, but his anger surged again upon hearing her words.

He interrupted her sharply, "Kaelyn, you're quite the manipulator. You even fooled my grandmother."

With that, he slapped me hard with his other hand.

My mouth instantly bled, and my cheek swelled.

Lesley was startled by this scene.

She tried to help me out of Jase's grip, but his bodyguards blocked her way.

Jase asked his bodyguards to call a doctor from a private hospital to arrange for an abortion.

While he made arrangements, he dragged me into the car.

Lesley insisted on following us and got into another car with the bodyguards.

None of my friends around offered any help.

Instead, they watched the scene unfold with gloat.

Jase's family was wealthy and influential, and my friends didn't want to offend him. They were happy to curry favor with him instead.

The car quickly arrived at the private hospital.

The director personally went out to greet Jase.

Ignoring the director's flattering words, Jase dragged me straight to the gynecology department.

"Jase, let go of me. The father of my baby is..." Before I could finish speaking, we ran into Thea, who was just coming out of the doctor's office.

She was Jase's brother's ex-wife and Jase's first love.

Seeing Jase, she happily ran over and hugged him. "Jase, I'm finally pregnant," she said, looking at him with deep affection.

Jase released my hand and carefully embraced Thea. "Thea, you're pregnant now. Why are you still so reckless? You need to be careful now that you're expecting."

Thea playfully smiled and saw me out of the corner of her eye. She exclaimed in surprise, "Kaelyn, how can you be pregnant too?"

Seeing their intimate behavior, I instantly understood why Jase had been gone for five years and why Thea had disappeared for the same duration.

They had an affair all along.

Ignoring Thea's provocative gaze, I replied calmly, "Jase, we're no longer married, and you're in a relationship with Thea now. Let go of me immediately, or you'll face the consequences."

Lesley was shocked by Jase and Thea's involvement, but she was more concerned about preventing Jase from doing something outrageous. "Jase, let Kaelyn go back and have a rest now."

Hearing Lesley's words, Jase released Thea from his embrace and sternly asked, "Grandma, Kaelyn has cheated on me, and now she's pregnant with an illegitimate child. Do you want me to turn a blind eye?"

Lesley sensed from his words that he wouldn't let me go easily.

She hurriedly said, "Jase, the child in Kaelyn's belly is not an illegitimate child. It's..."
