CHAPTER 5
Kaiser slowly came to, realizing he had dozed off on the couch. He reached for his phone and was surprised to see it was already 5 am. He quickly changed into a gym outfit, deciding to start his day with a morning workout. To avoid drawing attention to himself, he donned a cap and nose mask, disguising himself from the paparazzi and adoring fans.
As he jogged through the streets, his feet pounded the pavement in rhythm with his racing thoughts. But as the weight of his emotions bore down on him, his jog turned into a sprint. Lost in his own world, he collided with a young woman, sending her tumbling to the ground.
Aurora, a stunning 23-year-old, quickly scrambled to her feet, her eyes flashing with annoyance. Despite her rough demeanor, her petite frame, delicate features, and striking posture commanded attention. Her small lips curled into a scowl as she glared at Kaiser.
"Watch where you're going!" she snapped.
Kaiser's shades slipped down his nose, revealing his identity. He hastily covered her mouth, his eyes pleading with her to keep his secret.
"Please, pretend you didn't see me. I really don't want to draw attention to myself."
Aurora's confusion deepened as she stared up at him. "Who are you?" she asked, her voice laced with skepticism.
Kaiser's eyes widened in disbelief. "You don't know me?"
Aurora raised an eyebrow. "Are you God?" she retorted, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
Kaiser's eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing as he tried to intimidate her into recognizing him. But Aurora merely rolled her eyes, her expression unimpressed.
With a dismissive snort, she turned and continued her jog, leaving Kaiser staring after her in stunned silence.
As he watched her disappear into the distance, Kaiser's mind reeled with the unprecedented encounter. A woman in this vicinity, unaware of his identity? It was unthinkable.
Shaking off the feeling of unease, Kaiser continued his jog, his feet pounding the pavement with renewed determination. He would not show weakness, not even to himself.
With a resolute stride, he headed back home, ready to face the day ahead.
As Kaiser walked into his apartment, drenched in sweat from his morning workout, he was greeted by the familiar sight of Mr. Lee, impeccably dressed in his official attire. "Good morning, Lee," Kaiser said, his voice low and smooth. Lee, whose full name was Leemo, but was affectionately shortened to Lee, responded with a warm smile.
"Hope you had an unbothered night, kaiser," lee asked, his eyes searching for any sign of concern. The recent elevator incident still lingered in his mind, and he knew Lee was aware of it. Kaiser hummed in response, his eyes never leaving Lee's face.
Lee continued, his voice measured and calm, "I made you a sandwich and your coffee is ready, just the way you always want it." Kaiser's expression remained neutral, but his eyes betrayed a flicker of gratitude. "Okay, thanks," he replied, his voice even.
As Kaiser ate his sandwich, he asked Lee, "You care for some?" Lee declined, "I'm eating at my favorite restaurant this morning." Kaiser nodded, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
After finishing his breakfast, Kaiser headed to the restroom to get ready for the day ahead. As he emerged, Lee couldn't help but tease him, "To the most stunning man I've ever seen, you look breathtaking this morning." Kaiser's expression remained impassive, but a hint of amusement danced in his eyes.
Lee briefed him on his day's schedule, and Kaiser listened intently, his mind already focused on the tasks ahead. "You're fully prepared, sir," Lee said, handing Kaiser a folder containing his itinerary. Kaiser nodded, his eyes scanning the documents, his mind racing with the day's agenda.
With a deep breath, he stood up, ready to face the day ahead. His emotions were locked away, his focus solely on the tasks at hand. The weight of his responsibilities settled onto his shoulders, and he straightened, his eyes flashing with determination.
