Chapter 3 Duty and disinterest

CHAPTER 3

Kaiser emerged from the hospital's VIP room, dressed impeccably. "Shall we?" he asked Mr. Lee, his personal assistant.

Mr. Lee nodded, and they headed to the office. As they walked, Kaiser's thoughts turned to the meeting with his team members. He was not only a renowned singer but also a shrewd businessman, overseeing a significant portion of his father's conglomerate.

Upon arrival, Kaiser chaired the meeting, addressing pressing issues and discussing strategies to meet their end-of-year targets. His team members listened intently, impressed by his acumen.

After the meeting, Kaiser retreated to his office, taking a brief respite before his dinner date with Sophia. The evening had been orchestrated by his mother, who hoped to play matchmaker.

As Kaiser arrived at the venue, he spotted Sophia from afar. She was a stunning woman, with porcelain skin, enchanting eyelids, and a poised demeanor. Her elegance was undeniable, but Kaiser remained unimpressed.

Sophia greeted him with a bright smile. "Hi, I'm Sophia." Kaiser replied with a curt "Hi." As Sophia launched into a monologue about her accomplishments, Kaiser's attention began to wane. He nodded politely, his eyes drifting back to his phone.

As the evening wore on, Kaiser's disinterest became increasingly apparent. When Sophia paused, he seized the opportunity to excuse himself. "I don't mean to be rude, but I really wish we never had this meeting. I have zero interest in you, and I'm only here because of my mother. Let's just remain strangers."

With that, Kaiser settled the bill and departed, leaving Sophia looking taken aback. He rejoined Mr. Lee, who had been waiting discreetly outside. "Shall we?" Kaiser asked, already moving toward their next engagement.

The evening unfolded in a blur of meetings and appearances. Kaiser met with representatives from a collaborating company, discussing potential partnerships. Later, he visited an orphanage, where he spent hours playing with the children.

As the night drew to a close, Kaiser returned home, exhausted. Mr. Lee bid him goodnight, knowing that Kaiser's ordeal in the elevator had left him shaken.

Kaiser dropped his suit onto the chair, collapsing onto the couch. He scrolled through his phone, his eyelids growing heavy. Before he knew it, he had dozed off, his phone slipping from his grasp.

As he slept, Kaiser's dreams grew restless. He muttered incoherently, his voice rising in distress. "Kess... somebody, please help..."
