Chapter 4 Fast Delivery

"Um... I'm Madison's boyfriend." he offered a nice yet nervous bright smile as I felt my jaw drop to my feet.

I stared at the breathtaking model that was in front of me as my soul left my body saying, "Okay, I'm done."

One of these was going on my mind;
What. The. Hell.

I shook my head and figured that it was just a joke and my family was pranking me. But when everyone's attention snapped at me with either shock or confusion, I purposely stepped on my foot.

"You have a boyfriend?!" mom asked, bewildered, causing the very attractive, handsome, beautiful, breathtaking, appealing, tasty, delicious, sprinkling, sugary, mouth-watering human gaze to stop on me. And figuring out that I'm Madison, a smirk started to grow on his very attractive, handsome, beautiful, breathtaking, appealing, tasty, delicious, sprinkling, sugary, mouth-watering face.

I opened my mouth to speak but somehow, my voice went missing, probably hiding from embarrassment. And in the following seconds, I kept opening and closing my mouth, talking without a sound, and I believe I looked like a dog chewing the air.

When everyone started sending me weird, concerned looks, I burst into a fit of embarrassed laughter in the dead silent room. Believe me when I say I had way more embarrassing moments than this.

When I caught myself acting too much, I stood back straight and cleared my throat. "Um. Yeah, I have a boyfriend. Did I not mention this before?" I tried to play dumb.

"How come you never told me?!" Zoey exclaimed with betrayal, making me give her an apologetic look.

"Since when?" my dad asked, looking back at the guy with curiosity.

"Um... Yesterday?" I found myself saying.
"You got a boyfriend yesterday, and you didn't bother to mention it?" Zoey continued, frustrated.

"Zoey, I-"

"C'mon in!" I heard my mom saying, causing me to snap my widened eyes at her.

"Wait! Don't just let him in!" I ran up to them and stood right in front of the guy's way. I looked up at his ocean blue eyes only to see him smirking. And suddenly, my legs started shaking.

Damn, those lips are a full 2-course meal.
I can barely reach his shoulders!

Sweet mother of natural, he smells like hotness.

"What are you talking about?" mom asked, puzzled and suspicious, while the Greek God continued to smirk.

I mean he's a complete stranger! He could be a thief!

"I mean, let me do the honor!" I corrected myself, making my parents nod, understanding and stepping backwards a little.

"But first, I need to have a quick chat with-..." I looked up at him.

"Oh, Joseph." he told me with a charming smile as I nodded awkwardly.

"-Joseph!" I continued. And next thing happened, I grabbed his hand and walked us both out before closing the door behind us.

I got us down the patio and walked farther away from the house until we were on the sidewalk. That was when I instantly held my fist up at his face.

"Who are you and how the hell do you know me and where I live?!" I asked, threatening him.

He looked down at me with awe before daring to lower my fist with his hand. "Foremost, your family is watching us. I don't think it's appropriate for them to witness our first fight."

At that mention, I turned my head to my right only to see all four of them watching us through the windows. I quickly smiled and waved at them, not wanting them to suspect anything.

Yup, that's my family!

"Second of all, I'm your rented boyfriend!" he continued with a stupid smirk.

I winced. "No, I ordered a prom date. It is a month away from now!"

"Well, sweetheart, I wouldn't go out to prom with someone I don't know, now would I?"

Seriously, is this happening?! Is he for real now?!

"Oh my god! You can't do that! You have no idea what you just caused!" I tried to stay calm.

"Have you even read the terms and conditions?" he ignored me, casually inserting his hands inside his pockets, causing his muscular shoulders to grow bolder.

"The What?" I tried as hard not to droll and ignore his hotness.

Damn! How could someone be so hot?!

Well, he is my dream boy...

Shut up!

"Of course you haven't." he chuckled, inverting our gaze. "Just so you'd know, you can't replace or return the products you rent, which are our dream boys, of course. Plus, now that you've rented me, I have every right to do whatever I want with you." he winked at the end, making me widen my eyes.

As you please.

Shut the hell up!

"The only thing you're going to do is leave!"

""No can do, baby girl. You agreed to the terms without even sparing a moment to read them. You can't get rid of me!"" he shook his head playfully letting his hair dance over his head. "Well, not until your subscription is over..."

Is it just me, or is it getting hotter outside?!

"You need to leave my house." I ignored his statement and walked behind him, before starting to push him down the sidewalk, which was kind of hard because he was really stubborn and heavy.

"You seriously have no idea what kind of bomb you just blew in there!"

"That's what happens when you order a boyfriend online without thinking through the consequences first!" he sang, freezing himself to the ground.

"I ordered a prom date!"" I yelled in defense.

"Now go away! You and your stupid charms!"

Somehow my compliment made him relax his body. "Awe, I think you're cute too." he grinned at me with his stupid face and stupid blue eyes.

"Go!" I ordered when I gave up, holding my finger up.

What the hell does this guy eat?!

"Okay, fine. Jesus! Woman!" he muttered with a sigh. "Although, my car is there."

He pointed out behind me, causing me to turn around instantly. However, instead of seeing a car, I saw 3 familiar figures getting in a familiar fancy Jeep.

You ask who?

Mr. and Mrs. Kingston. And Jen.
And Jen.
And Jen.
Jen...
Wait, JEN!

Without hesitation, I faced Joseph again with horror. "Run!" I whispered aggressively.
"What?" he gave me a confused look, making me sigh.

"Just run that way! Now!" I repeated in the same tone but just a bit louder for him to hear.

"Why?"

Before I could do anything, an annoying voice rang in my ear, causing me to curse under my breath. Too late.

"Madison!" Jen sang with happiness and joy, as if I'm her long-distanced best friend.

"Don't you dare speak!" I threatened Joseph with a cold glare before turning around again with a wide fake smile.

Why do you ask? Well, parents are present.
"Jen!" I squealed, way less excited than her. However, that was when she pulled me in a bone-crushing hug.

While she hugged me, I looked at Mr. and Mrs. Kingston, who smiled warmly at me. I returned their smile and waved at them before telling them to head inside.

After a few seconds, Jen pulled me back and held my arms. "I missed you!"

At that, I rolled my eyes. "Cut the crap, they're not here."

She glanced around and saw her parents already on the patio greeting her parents. So, she instantly dropped her fake barbie doll face and replaced it with her bitch face.

"I hate you," she told me, making me fake a smile.

"Awe, I couldn't despise you more!"

She rolled her eyes and only then did she meet Joseph's gaze, her expression turned surprised. "And who might you be?" she purred, pushing me over and walking over to him, as if I was a trashcan.

Please, God, give me strength!

"I'm Joseph." he gave her a breathtaking smile. "Madison's boyfriend."

At that, my eyes widened at Joseph. I told you to stay quiet! I signaled him with my face expression, but he just furrowed his eyebrows.

Jen glanced at me for a second, causing me to instantly make a smile. "Madison... is your girlfriend?!" she asked him mockingly.

Why is everyone so shocked?!

I mean I can have a boyfriend! Right?

"Yeah she is," he replied proudly.

She lets out a 'huh' breath, before looking at me suspiciously. "Since when did you get a boyfriend?"

Not wanting to talk or tell her anything, I gave her a disgusted look on purpose before pushing her away from my fake boyfriend.

"You should head inside. Because you don't want yourself to vanish from the sun."

You get it? Cause she's a vampire...

As in dead. OK, whatever.

She scoffed, rolling her eyes again. "Whatever, losers," she said before turning around her heals and heading back to the house.

Once she was far enough, my glare turned back up to meet Joseph's cocky face. "And you need to leave, now."

He let out a laugh. "Okay! I'm leaving!" he argued before walking away, passing by me. And when I glanced back at him, I saw him moving towards a shinning yellow Camaro. You can say my jaw dropped once again.

He also drives a freaking CAMARO?!

HOW THE HELL DID I NOT NOTICE IT?!

He walked over to the driver's door and gave me one last glance before he unlocked the door and slipped in. "I'll see you tomorrow, babe." he smirked as I continued to stare at the car with admiration.

Wait, what?

Before I could say anything, the engine roared suddenly, causing me to get startled. And not less than a moment, he drove down the neighborhood in the coolest way possible.

I continued to watch with ultimate shock as he disappeared from total sight. And the only thing that was going on in my mind was, what the hell just happened?!

When I realized that I was standing all alone in the street like some loner, I shook my head and snapped out of it, only to turn around and head back to my house. Yet, that was when I saw Zoey standing alone on the porch looking back at me with suspicion while crossing her arms.

Ah. Here we go...
.
.
.
.
.
After an hour of catching up between my parents and the Kingstons, dinner was finally set on the table.

And by that time I had already lost my appetite, thanks to Jen, who couldn't stop checking out my brother and sending flirty disgusting winks towards his direction.

But with one of my mom's famous glares that said' do what I tell you, or I'll kick your ass when the guests leave ', I found myself sitting on one of the dinner table's chairs.

Yet only then did I notice the devil sitting right in front of me. I gave her a glare. She gave me a glare. And we all started eating.

And as always, when the Kingstons come over, our parents sit on the left side of the table and get engaged in a boring adult conversation. Us, their kids, sit on the right side and except us to get along. However, we just glare at each other the whole time.

But with Cody to my left and Zoey to my right, I didn't feel too annoyed with Jen's presence.

"So, Madison... Tell me about your boyfriend." Jen started when she saw us all trying to be peaceful.

I dropped my fork and looked up at her with a dead blank expression. But then Zoey popped in. "Yes, Madison! Tell us about your boyfriend."

Oh, she used my real name. That ain't good.
I passed a look towards her, only it was more like a puzzled 'are you? serious ' look. I never had the chance to explain to her what was really going on after Joseph left. And I can't explain anything to her now!

So I played along.

"What would you like to know?" I asked, directing the question to Jen. Even though I can just ignore her.

But I didn't want to. Because now that I have the chance to stop Jen from bullying me about being a love virgin, I will surely take it.

"Like how did you meet? How long have you been together?" She started asking questions, making Zoey eager to get the answers.

"Um.. I- we met a few months ago. At... the... street!" I found myself replying. Street?!

You could've said the internet, you moron!
"Street?" Zoey raised a brow in confusion.
"Yeah. The street. When I was walking back home from school..." I explained.

"And you've been together ever since? It must've been hard keeping such a secret from your family. I mean, sneaking out to meet him and everything," she rambled, taking a sip from her drink, suspiciously.

"Yes. Very." I nodded slowly. "But now the truth is out. We don't need to hide anymore."
She lets out one of her 'huh' breaths again before going back to her food. Only for me to get the chance to glance at Zoey, who is digging holes in my head.

"So is he coming to prom with you?" Jen asked again before she took a bite from her plate.

"What?" I blinked twice.

"Is he coming to prom with you? As your date?" She repeats, just repeated this time slower.
I scoffed. "Of course he is."
At that moment, Madison Davis knew that she had messed up.

I told him off, but I really hoped he'd still be on for prom.

I looked over to Cody and saw him so focused on his food. That he never glanced up or joined the conversation. Which made me kick him under the table.

His eyes snapped up at me while he chewed and raised his brow.

I shook my head, pointing at Jen, asking for help with my eyes. Which led him to glance at her through the corner of his eyes before shaking his own.

I gave him another look and said, 'Help me, or I'll kill you.'

' I'd rather you kill me than talk to Jen.'
He took a look before he went back to his food. But little did he know. I gave him one of my hardest kicks under the table, leading me to choke for a second.

"So, Jen, how was... your day?" he forced the words out, making Jen look at him with sparks in her eyes. And just like that, she never brought back Joseph's questions to the table.

Well, let's just say, I can handle Zoey...

"YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND?!" She yelled when we got to my room after the Kingstons left.

The sun had set, and as soon as they left, she kept giving those stares that started to freak me out. It's like her eyeballs are trying to get out, so they can punch me in my eyes!

"You've been dating a guy for God knows how long, and you never bothered to tell me?!

Maddie, how could you?! I will tell you everything and I never kept anything from you! Did you even plan on telling me anytime soon or were you just going to hide it f-"

"Zoey! I don't have a boyfriend!" I interrupted her as soon as I started to get annoyed by jumping to conclusions.

"What are you talking about?! I'm not deaf or blind, you know?"

"Exactly! He is not my boyfriend. I don't have a boyfriend. I don't even know who the hell he is or how he ended up here!" I reasoned, walking up to my bed and collapsing on it, rubbing my temples with both of my hands.

Ugh! Today was a mess!

"Then why did he say that you're his girlfriend? And why did you play along?" she asked, shoving part of me to sit on the bed.
I took the message and got into a sitting position. "If I tell you, you promise you won't judge or laugh?"

She placed her hand on her heart. "I promise I won't judge or laugh."

I took a long and deep breath while looking down on my fidgeting hands. "I ordered him online." I confessed shamefully.

There was a moment of silence where she just stared at me for a couple of seconds, blinking rapidly. "You ordered him?" she asked slowly, trying to understand as I nodded.

"Why?"

"I-I don't know!" I couldn't help but start stuttering. "I figured no one was going to ask me for a prom, so I got myself a date."
I definitely don't want to go with my dad!

"God! And I thought I was desperate!"

Suddenly, I heard another voice come from outside my room. When I looked at my door, I saw Cody leaning on its frame chuckling to himself. "I should've known when he first used the phrase boyfriend ."

"Go away, Cody!" I groaned, walking up to him before slamming the door in his face. I can still hear him laugh, which only made me kick the door before going back to bed.

"Maddie, why would you do that?" Zoey asked me with a frown while I crossed my arms over my chest.

I sighed. "I told you! Plus, I don't want to be third wheeling at your prom!"

At that, she shook her head. "Maddie, you are going to get asked out eventually!"
"By who? The janitor?"
Who am I kidding? Even the janitor doesn't like me...

"You just shouldn't have lost hope so soon," she said as I shrugged.

"Well, too late now."
