Chapter 2 THE REALITY OF MY MARRIAGE

I Finally step my feets outside after crying my eyes out.

and met them all ready to take pictures and were waiting for me.

"Hurry up Ada... you took a lot of time inside there". my mom flared at me.

"Easy on her Chinasa.. she's taking her time". My mother in law corrected my mom and she immediately mouthed an apology.

I apologized too and stood with them.

the photographer took dozens of pictures which made me bothered.

I was supposed to snap with my Husband, Why then did Jayden had to take his place.

"Ada... I'm really sorry I couldn't be of any help to you". my sister ugochi interrupted my thoughts

Actually,we are done taking pictures.

and I decided to walk myself towards the car waiting for me.

before My sister ugochi ran up to me.

"Don't worry Ugo,, I'm good..."I assured my sister with a forced smile.

Ugochi looked at me and sighed. "I know when you're good Ada... anyways,,if he ever lays his hands on you, better inform me and I will deal with him. you know he can't walk.. I will render him more useless than his usual self"

I stilled at her word.

it's funny how she said my husband can't walk but then again, I felt ashamed that my husband can't walk.

can I ever be proud of my husband in this life?.

"Ada". Ugochi tapped me .. and I snapped back from my trance. "I love you Ada... Be a good girl huh?... and call mummy when you feel you can't take it anymore".

"I will". I assured her and smile at her.. this time around a sincere smile.

Ugochi giggled and clapped happily.

"That's my big sister".

I laughed at her gesture... Ugochi just know how to make me smile even in my tough times.

"you look so beautiful in your wedding gown Ada... I can't wait to show Mummy Amanda your wedding pictures... you're too beautiful"

I blushed at my sister's statement.

"Thanks little sis"

Our lovely moment was interrupted by mom.

"give us space ugochi.. I want to discuss something's with your sister"

Ugochi humph and stomp her feet before Marching off.

when the coast was clear, My mom cleared her throat.

"Do you see your in-laws?.. they're well to do. just be a good wife to you husband and your life will be sweet." my mom stated with a smile and I felt sick seeing that smile on her face.

"Mom, Have you ever asked me how I feel about this Marriage... Have you ever?"

"I know what's good for you Ada and I won't disappoint you. you're my daughter.. my first Daughter... I won't forsake you".

"No you have Forsaken me". I snapped at her.. fresh tears now covering my vision. "You didn't care that's why you married me off to a crippled man Mom... a Crippled Man". I uttered with a hoarse voice.

"it's not about his disabilities Ada... it's about the cash... it's about the wealth... imagine when you take in for him and give him a Male child.. you're automatically Rich...

I gasp unbelievable at my mom's word

"so.. I... you married me to Mr crippled so that I can birth him a child". I asked and my mom smiled at my word.

"that's my smart daughter.. Now after giving him a son.. you will now be part of his will ... his properties are automatically yours Ada... it will be tough at the beginning but with time, you will get to understand the reason I choosed this part for you My daughter".

I shook my head at her.

"I'm disappointed mom... I'm so so very disappointed"

"I don't care how disappointed you're but you have to listen to whatever I have to tell you.. You must seduce him... seduce him Ada with your beauty and body structure.. make sure you take in for him. Are you hearing me?"

"I'm leaving, if this is what you want to say" I turn and made to leave but mom dragged me back

" you must listen to me Ada... do as I say and take me and your sister out of that swamped house we're living, do you hear me?"

I snatched my hand from her hold.

"I'm done listening to you... since the ball is in my court, I will play it the way is want".

I stated before Matching off.

I could hear my mom calling my name but I paid deaf ears to her.

I entered the supposed car meant for me and my husband but surprise to find him not there.

"welcome Mrs Carter". The driver greeted with a Bow.

"Where is my husband!" I asked

"He didn't come.." the driver reply and stare at me from the rear mirror.

"What?.. but they said he's here in the car". I said feeling so confused and frustrated.

"actually,that's what he said I should tell them". he mumbled and ignited the engine.

my mind went blank for some moment

he really didn't came for his own wedding..

Wow... just Wow.

"I guess I'm good to go" the driver asked and I nod at him.

before the engine kick off.

I rested my head at the head rest as he drove out of the premises.

I could see them waving happily at me.

but why does it look like they're all fake with this happiness..

everything looks fake..

from the moment they lied my supposed husband was waiting in the car...

it does look like they're afraid of him.

I breathe in heavily.. if I was told I will be married off..

I won't ever believe it.

such is Life.

The drive lasted for some minutes before we arrived a huge estate named Akachi Estate.

I was thrilled at the neat view as we drive pass several Mansions.

the Well groomed trees and Flowers were to kill for.

the car slow down before a huge gigantic black Gate.

"This is Mr Carter's Building... one of his numerous Mansions". The driver said as he honked and automatically,the gate slide open even before the gate man could come out.

One of his numerous Mansions?.

Wait,, does that mean he have other Mansions too?.

my Jaw dropped as he drove inside.

in the middle of the Immaculate White Mansion, stood a very Beautiful White Dragon water Fountain.

with some white roses attached at the corners of the fountain.

white roses?...

wait,, so we have white roses? I thought roses are red.

As the driver packed few walks to the Entrance door.

he turn to me with a professional smile.

"Mr Carter is inside.. but I guess inside his room. but then again, a maid will show you you're room"

"my room?"

"Actually Mr Carter loves he's own privacy". he smiled again.. " I'm Ben.. Mr Carter's Driver".

I looked at him for some while.

"Nice to meet you Ben". I said finally.

"Same here Mrs Carter."

ok this formalities is what I don't like.

I'm now being called Mrs Carter as How?.

I hate this name... if I am to say it out I would have.

Ben came down from the car and help me out.

he lead me towards the entrance door before letting go off my hand.

"You can head in now". he said and I nod.

my heart beat sudden began hammering in my chest.

This house, have a type of cold demeanor.

and will I really cope?.

pushing my thoughts inside... I opened the door and walked in with my heavy wedding gown.

and alas, I met the maids all lined up in their working uniform.

on noticing my presence, They all bow at me in Greeting.

"Welcome Mrs Carter!"
