Chapter 4 I'm ready

Jade applied a pain relief patch on her grandma's ankle. Mrs Dominica giggled, her granddaughter's sense of humor was unbelievable, there was no way she could get the money in three days, she understood that she was desperate but somethings are just too impossible to believe, but yet Mrs Dominica still didn't want to kill her hope, there was no crime in believing.

Her granddaughter could do anything if she set her mind to it but this particular one looked quite impossible except she wins a lottery but one thing was the problem, Jade wasn't a type that fancied those kind of stuffs, atimes she often spoke of it like gambling even when partially it wasn't.

Jade stood up after helping her grandma put the patch on, she went in to the kitchen and saw that her grandma was cooking before the invasion, she quickly finished up the cooking, after she was done she served her grandma a plate of the food and ate a little bit from hers, she looked at the time and it was past three in the afternoon and she needed to go somewhere, she couldn't finish up her food due to anxiety, she covered up the food and made to leave

"Grandma I'll be back, don't wait out too long for me, I will come back when I'm done, okay?"

Jade annoyed leaving the door, she didn't even wait for her granny's reply. Mrs Dominica couldn't call her back because she seemed to be in a hurry and she had already left the house, she heaved a sigh and mumbled some words within her breath.

Jade got to Stephanie's house, her best friend. Stephanie was eating at the garden when she heard the gate crack open, she looked at her security cam and saw it was her best friend Jade. She lived alone and yet she was able to acquire this massive apartment all by herself just by doing no work. Jade wasn't aware of the kind of work her friend does except that she normally goes for a business meeting and stay for about three days tops, but through out her three days of absence she doesn't commucate with any body including her best friend untill she was back.

She often tell Jade to join her, but Jade needed no one to tell her that her friend was definitely in to something illegal in the country. She atimes comes back with hard drugs, that wasn't even that shocking thing what is was that she often came back with guns. She had several passport all registered in different names and personalities. She had never disclosed the reason why she had so many passports in different names because if she knew, dje might have cut off the friendship and whenever Jade asked she would tell her that she have to join her to know, no pressure. She atimes told her that if she joined her that she could make the money she owed in must a Day. Of course it seemed absurd and too good to be true but this was different, Jade was desperate, she didn't know the details but she wanted to do it, the pressure on her was too much.

" I'm ready Steph, just show me the way"

Jade said snacking on the cookies Stephanie was having, Stephanie dragged a smile across her face and sipped a glass of coffee, her best friend was finally growing up

"Well, you are in luck my friend prepared yourself. We have a job for tomorrow night and it pays quite well and we have to leave today by dusk.

Stephanie said still smiling at her friend, Jade never allowed her to help sort the debts out and she was willing to help her in any way possible and now she was finally doing it, she was proud of her friend for taking such bold step it was hard she agree but for someone who owed such amount of money should want a change, she had to step out of her comfort zone for a bit and leave that delivery job she was into so as to rescue herself from debt.

"At dusk? But I have to help mama with some stuffs and run some errands at the house"

"Ooh please Jade, you ain't even coming back till the next three days or more so cancel whatever plans you have in minds

because there is no dulling in this game"

"Steph.."

"Jade, do you want the money or not?"

"You know I do, but gra.."

"Shh!! Then it's settled, I will call someone to help squeeze you in since the number of ladies is already complete you should be thankful to me Instead of bringing Gran y into this case"

Steph said. She picked up her phone and walked seven meters away from Jade and dialed someone's number, she waited for the phone to ring and the person picked on the second ring, she spoke with this strange person for a long period of time, she paced around, curling up her blonde hair with her fingers, Jade understood that she was making a deal just squeeze her in and she was grateful for that, she smiled and continued eating the snacks.

After a while, she took her phone and stood up and called her grandma. Mrs Dominica was made at first but Jade was able to reassure her that she was going to be fine and besides Stephanie was going with her so there was no cause for her to be worried, she didn't know what to say to her granddaughter, her mind was already made up, and she was old enough to stay out late and talk more of staying out for three days, the only she could do was to advise her to be safe and which she did and after a while she hung up. Jade turned off her phone and handed it over to Stephanie.
