Chapter 5 Davis vs Darwin

Veronica's POV

Darwin's eyes grilled with surprise at Davis' gesture.

"Argh, you got a man with bad taste just like you." Davis spoke with a surge of smiles on his face while he stared at me.

"What do you want?" I asked with a sharp glare. I wanted him off my table as soon as possible.

"I guess this is for you." He said, picking up another cup of coffee, and the next thing he did was pour the coffee on me.

Before I made any move, Darwin's eyes fledged with anger. Standing on his feet with haste, he decked Davis's face with a hot slap, and he held him by his shirt.

"You are an ill-mannered imbecile, and I will teach you a wild lesson." He widened his face, stiffening his punch.

"Get your hand off my shirt! Do you have an idea of who you just hit?" Davis spoke with an air of pride.

Without hesitation, Darwin punched Davis severally in his face. Davis wanted to fight back, but Darwin was highly skilled, and it didn't take him any further strength to overpower him. Kathryn, his secretary, stormed out of the restaurant in a panic.

"I know how to deal with a nuisance like you." Darwin forced Davis to his knees.

"You will bow your head several times and seek her forgiveness. After that, you will get fresh clothes. And if you think you will run away, I will find you and have you beheaded alongside your family." Darwin placed a strong, threatening statement.

Davis shrugged in fear. My eyes widened at the movement of Darwin on this.

"I am sorry." Davis started pleading after he was battered and ridiculed by Darwin.

People at the restaurant started making videos of what was going on. But Davis wouldn't stop bowing his head and asking for mercy.

I felt moved with compassion. "I forgive you." I expressed it with gravity in my voice.

"I will give you five minutes to get her clothes worth four hundred dollars. If you fail to get here before time, consider yourself dead meat." Darwin's eyes gleamed fiercely while he spoke those words with alacrity.

Davis panicked and got on his feet promptly, heading out of the restaurant.

"You shouldn't have gone this far." I raised one of my eyebrows at him.

"I won't tolerate any act of bullying, Miss Veronica. He went beyond his boundaries, and I will not tolerate it." He replied to me fiercely.

"Okay, can we get out of here, please? I have had enough already."

"I am sorry, Miss Veronica. We can't get out of here until he returns with new clothes. However, for you not to be mocked..." He removed his jacket and covered the affected area on my clothes with it.

After five minutes, Davis arrived with brand-new clothes.

"Sir, I brought the cloth." He handed it to Darwin.

Darwin half-smiled and stroked his head softly, "Good boy." He commented and collected it from him. Then, he handed it to me.

"Princess, go into the washroom and change your clothes." Hearing him speak with so much care and love, I stood on my feet and I went to change my clothes.

I haven't been this honored in my life. A part of me was happy with the way Davis was treated, and a part of me wasn't so comfortable with it.

Darwin's POV

Her eyes were like those of pearls; her sexy nose and kissable lips wouldn't stop blaring at me. That night of passion between both of us was something I wanted again and again.

But there was no way I could have requested that from her.

Soon, she returned from the washroom, and I was stunned by the beautiful maiden that appeared.

She paced forward gently while I admired who was before me.

"You look really great," I commented.

"Thank you." Her response was opaque, and we gradually walked outside the restaurant.

While my driver drove us back to the company, she said, "Thank you so much for your intervention today."

"Okay." I nodded my head like I did nothing.

However, when I got back to the company, there were three visitors waiting to meet with me.

"Good day, sir." They were in suits, and they had bright smiles on their faces.

"Good day, how may I help you?" I asked, my face constantly meeting with them.

"My name is Greg, and you are invited for questioning." He said, removing his identity card from his pocket.

When he showed me, I realized he was a police officer disguised as a ordinary civilian.

"For what reason are you inviting me for questioning?" I arched my eyebrows, looking into their eyes to sense a mischievous intent.

"Mr. Darwin, you were reported to publicly assault a man, and we are inviting you to properly explain to us the reason for this." The police officer revealed.

I was surprised. 'Davis reported this case. I will make sure this will ruin him.' My lips curved with a dark smile.

"Miss Veronica, properly manage the company for me. I will return in no time." I said to her.

There was panic on Veronica's face after hearing the reason for the invite. She knew I was invited because of what happened earlier.

"I can't stay back to manage the company, sir. You are in this mess because of me. I must go with you." She poured emotions into her words.

"Your presence won't make a difference. I order you to stay back!" I stiffened my voice while I placed the order.

Veronica grunted with displeasure. "Okay." She had to abide by my orders while I followed the police officers.

Many minutes later, I got to the police station only to see Davis wrapped in bandages writing a statement.

This move only angered me. 'So, he lied just to have me apprehended.' I grunted internally, having it in mind to destroy him.

I proceeded to the questioning room while an officer accompanied me.

"Mr. Darwin, did you or did you not assault Mr. Davis earlier today?" He queried
