Chapter 7 Let Her Go

I narrowed my gaze at my father, hoping he would defend me as his first son. He glanced sideways and neglected me as though I were adopted.

"Do you even pay attention to instructions? Let the girl go now. She's mine to keep." A baritone voice commanded me from afar.

The voice sounded quite familiar, yet I couldn't figure out who the person was.

Surprisingly, the soldiers who surrounded me started paving the way to welcome someone. From the way the soldiers acted, I knew an important figure was coming.

"So it's you?

What are you doing here?" I pointed at Marcus, my half-brother. He was the person behind the voice I heard.

I had nothing but hate for him. I couldn't wait to twist his neck and watch him plead for my Mercy.

"Like I said before, Sophie is mine.

She isn't going with you. Let go of her this minute and leave while you still can," Marcus threatened me in the presence of everyone, making me feel like a weakling.

I was gutted and humiliated that someone like Marcus would have the effrontery to confront me.

"I am never going to be yours.

I don't recall accepting to be your mate," Sophie spoke in her defense.

"You heard her, didn't you?

She just rejected you In the presence of everyone. You should be ashamed," I taunted Marcus.

It was the perfect time to get back at him for how he humiliated me a while ago.

The emergence of Marcus tightened my grip on Sophie. I vowed not to let her go.

"I challenge you into a fight. Whoever wins takes her.," Marcus challenged me into a fight.

He hasn't done that before. He didn't even acknowledge the presence of my Father.

"Trust me, you don't want to do this.

Just back out. I don't want to hurt you." I told Marcus, hoping he would change his mind.

"If you want her, then you must fight to have her," Marcus responds. That was when I knew he wasn't bluffing.

"Stay here.

Don't go anywhere,"

I authorized Sophie.

"Please don't do this.

He's going to hurt you," Sophie gripped my arm tightly to stop me from fighting.

"Don't you dare tell me what to do?

Who the hell do you think you are? Stay back if you don't want my wrath that's like a consuming fire," I was pissed. I yelled at Sophie and scared her away.

My eyes suddenly turned reddish.

I could feel my inner wolf preparing to unleash itself.

I bent to the ground and transformed into my wolf form.

Without hesitation, I attacked Marcus and dislocated his wrist.

I couldn't wait for him to shift forms. I intend to make him useless to the point where he would always be scared of me.

I expected a much tougher challenge from him. He was just a walk in the pack for me.

"Stop now!" I heard a loud voice commanding me to stop.

It was my Father. He finally decided to speak up.

He's been quiet the whole time Marcus challenged me.

I quickly shifted into my human form while Marcus was struggling to survive. I had fun doing that.

I needed everyone to see that no one dares mess with me and gets away with it.

I mumbled at my father, expressing my disapproval of what he did. I want to be feared and respected by Marcus.

"I do hope you've learned the hard way. Do you still want a piece of me?" I got closer to Marcus. I was thirsty for his blood.

"That's enough, son.

Have you suddenly lost respect for me?" My father called me from afar and put me in order.

I halted my movement and ordered one of the soldiers to take Marcus away for urgent treatment

He was seriously injured. There's no guarantee that he would heal on his own.

Like a warlock returning from a successful battle, I marched to my father and bowed to him.

Rather than praising me for the triumph against Marcus, he landed a thunderous slap on my face that left me flabbergasted.

"Father?" I screamed while caressing my chin.

My greatest joy was that Marcus wasn't present to witness what happened. He won't hesitate to mock me.

"Is this the motherfucking thanks I get for defeating Marcus? I guess it would have been different if it was Marcus who defeated me." I lamented.

I was waiting for him to officially hand Sophie over to me.

Whichever way, I'm going to have Sophie to myself, and no one would stop me, not even my Father.

I came here for a purpose, and it must be fulfilled.

Sophie's Point of View

My heart stopped pumping as I awaited Lottana's decision on me. Without him speaking, I already knew what his final Verdict was.

Somehow, I wished the mood goddess would hear my cry and turn the situation in my favor.

"Father, I'm waiting. How long before you finally decide? I'm running out of patience. Should I take her along with me to the pack? My people await the arrival of their new Luna. It's not ideal of me to keep them waiting for too long," Nathan protested.

I still can't figure out why he wants me. He was right there when Lottana announced that I was Wolffless, and he couldn't do anything about it.

I can't seem to sense the bond between us. I can't figure out how he concluded that we were destined to be mates.

I am loving it here at Full Moon Pack. I've lived all my life here.

I can't imagine myself relocating over to a new pack to start afresh.

If it wasn't for Helena's constant bullying, I wouldn't have any reason to evade the pack.

My gaze flickered at Anabelle as we both shared a telling look.

She nodded disdainfully and wished that I wouldn't be taken away.

"Don't leave me. Please stay," I watched Anabelle ad-libbing to me.

"You are free to take Sophie.

She won't be missed," Alpha finally passed the judgment that left me speechless. Everything was happening so fast, like a movie.
