Chapter 3 Venom

Sam sat on the sofa. The TV was on with high volume, but Sam just stared at it blankly. After yesterday's incident, Keifer never came home once. The man disappeared into the earth. However, his lawyer came to the house with divorce papers.

Sam looked terrible. His hair was a mess, while his eyes were swollen. His clothes didn't look good at all. Pajama pants and a baggy t-shirt with faded colors. Sam had completely lost his mind and hope at the moment. As Sam was pensive, the doorbell sounded. Sam moved immediately. Did Keifer's lawyer come again and force him to sign it?

The doorbell rang several times. Sam stood up and walked over to open the door. The moment he opened the door, Sam's blank face turned into one full of anger. Dyanne stood in the doorway with her beautiful face. Dyanne was wearing a span skirt, a sweet flowery shirt, and well-dressed hair. The most striking thing about her look was her sparkling red heels.

"Oh my! You're such a mess, Sam!" Dyanne said thoughtfully.

Sam gave Dyanne a sharp look. "Shut your mouth! Get out of here!"

Dyanne heeded Sam. She inserted her right foot so that Sam could not close the door. The woman carried her red Chanel bag in a bad fashion. Sam hated the red lipstick she was wearing even more now. Did Dyanne manage to seduce her Keifer with this look?

"I just stopped by to pick up Keifer's clothes," Dyanne said casually.

Dyanne even walked straight to Keifer's room. She opened the walk-in closet like she owned this house. Dyanne took some of Keifer's clothes, pants, ties, belts, and watches.

"You dare show up, D?" Sam asked bitterly.

Dyanne, who was picking out Keifer's watch, stopped what she was doing. She turned her head and looked at Sam, who looked miserable.

"Why should I be afraid?" Dyanne asked.

"You took my husband, bitch!" growled Sam.

Dyanne laughed. She picked up the watch she had chosen earlier and put it in a plastic bag with Keifer's other belongings. Then, Dyanne looked at her watch.

"You think I took it? Don't you ever think your husband is flirting with me, Sam?"

Sam was silent. No! His Keifer couldn't have done that. Sam knew Keifer. Sam couldn't imagine Keifer flirting with another woman. While Sam was still trying to digest everything, Dyanne walked past Sam.

"Dyanne!" Sam shouted. "Even so, why does it have to be you, D? I've considered you a sister all this time."

Dyanne turned around and sighed. "How could I resist when Keifer treats me so gently? Keifer is always there when I need help. "

"Dyanne!" Sam shouted.

"Summer!" Dyanne called sharply. "Can't you just give up? Save your pride! Keifer doesn't like you anymore. Did you see what I brought? I only brought his work clothes. Guess what? Yes! Keifer already has pajamas at my house!"

"Pajamas?" Sam asked incredulously.

Dyanne rolled her eyes in annoyance. "You think Keifer's been working late all this time?"

Sam didn't answer. Fact after fact hit him. No! No way! As Sam was stunned, Dyanne chuckled. "Use your brain, Summer! You're smart! The smartest boss and the pride of our department. Are you going to keep denying the facts?"

Sam collapsed on the floor. Her tears were flowing again. If that was the case, then how many years had Keifer betrayed him? Dyanne looked at Sam coldly. She looked at her watch. Her break time was almost over.

"I don't have time. You'd better sign the letter! Keifer doesn't love you anymore. Do you see this?" Dyanne showed her ring finger. "Keifer expressed his feelings with this. You don't want to live off his pity, do you, Sam? You still have some self-respect, right?"

Sam didn't answer. He sobbed on the floor. Dyanne's sharp words and the facts she mentioned are quite hurt. Dyanne turned around. She was completely indifferent to Summer. Hopefully, Summer would sign the divorce papers soon. Dyanne opened the door but stopped. She turned to Summer one last time.

"Oh, let me give you one more fact! Doesn't Keifer's not coming home again mean he doesn't even feel sorry for you anymore, Sam? Get a grip!"

Dyanne walked out. What a hassle! It had been a week since Summer had signed her letter. From the beginning, Dyanne didn't like Summer. Summer was the perfect package of annoyance. She was smart, she had a warm personality, and she even had a handsome boyfriend. Dyanne thought, How could such a perfect person exist? Wherever Dyanne went in her company, Summer was always the pride and joy.

Keifer, Dyanne, and Sam are in the same company. However, Keifer was in a different department from them. They were said to be the perfect couple. Oh, my God! Just remembering the past made Dyanne upset. In fact, after 5 years of resignation, Dyanne was still a legend in her company. Dyanne was already in a superior position. Dyanne was sick of living in Summer's shadow.

Being lost in her thoughts, Dyanne accidentally crashed into a tree. The branch hit Dyanne's arm and made it bleed. Dyanne clucked in annoyance. She sighed. Soon, Dyanne would be able to get out of Summer's shadow. Her household was on the verge of collapse.

Coming out of the yard, Dyanne saw Keifer's red car. Dyanne sighed and got into the car. Keifer's face looked worried. Keifer looked strange this week, too. Repeatedly, Dyanne found Keifer trying to contact Sam.

"What's wrong with your arm?" Keifer asked when he saw that Dyanne's arm was scratched.

Dyanne put on a reluctant smile. "It's okay."

"Sam did it? I told you, I'll do it! But you insisted because you wanted to apologize to him," Keifer said worriedly.

Keifer took a tissue and wiped the blood on Dyanne's arm. She didn't answer. If Dyanne let Keifer in, the two of them could have made up. Especially, seeing how destroyed Sam was.

"It's okay! I'm just trying! After all, Sam is already my brother," Dyanne said softly.

Keifer sighed. He was silent for a while and then looked around the house. "How is he?"

Dyanne could catch the anxious intonation in Keifer's voice. However, she tried desperately to manage her expression. "Unexpectedly, Sam is quite calm. He won't sign the divorce papers because he doesn't want us to be happy. "

"What?"

"He said, at least you and I should be miserable because of what we did," Dyanne said in a sad tone. "Keif, I've been waiting for years. I didn't want this to happen either. But, do we have no chance?"

Dyanne looked down. At the sight of tears flowing, Keifer hurriedly wiped away Dyanne's tears. His thoughts that had been on Sam now disappeared completely.

"I'll work on it! I promise!" Keifer said.

Keifer started the car, and they started driving down the street. Dyanne stared at the road. Patience! Just a little more! Dyanne only had to wait a little longer to reach her destination. Then, a message came into her cell phone.

Did you hear about Keifer and Summer's divorce? Oh my! The company is in an uproar right now.

- Isabella

Dyanne smiled. Finally, the bait was bitten too. Dyanne hurriedly replied to Isabella's message.

Oh, my gosh! How did it get out? Isabella, don't let anyone else know!

- Dyanne

Dyanne felt a little satisfied. Her plan was going the way she wanted it to. Dyanne took Keifer's free hand and held it. Dyanne smiled sweetly.

"Looks like we have to hurry back to the office. I have something to do," Dyanne said, spoiled.

Dyanne looked out the window. Apparently, today was a sunny day! Her plans work smoothly.
