Chapter 5 You pig!

"This is not even the last thing I've wanted today. For fuck's sake" Venessa cursed under her breath, looking at the sticky drink that was drenching her overalls, now smelling like a strawberry drink in horror, cursing Satan for not being on her side today.

"God can't you see where you are walking?" She snapped, irritated before looking up to find a guy that could've snatched her breath away if she didn't meet Ashton.

Hazelnut hair, dark brown eyes, pale skin, perfect jawline sharp enough to be illegal, almost 5 '9 feet height, his muscles showing off because of his pretty white, now pink t-shirt that was just decorated by her drink, sticking to him like a second skin, he looked like he just jumped out a fictional romcom.

On the other hand, the guy looked pretty amused.

"God can't you see where you are walking?" He mocked her, his voice deep and filled with mischief glancing at how she was holding the cup in her hand a bit away, trying to shrug off the stains with her face scrunched up.

'Oh his voice was so swoon worthy' she thought.

"How dare you mock me?" She glared at him.

"Excuse me, you were the one who dashed into me" he frowned, folding his hands, flexing his muscles even more, unintentionally.

Venessa swore she heard a girl in the background gasp at his little action.

"You were the one who stood behind me" She pointed out the obvious.

"Well this is a queue, we are supposed to stand behind the one who is in front of us" he chuckled, seeing her getting worked up.

"But you don't need to stick like we are hugging, dude, now I spilled the drink" Venessa deadpanned exasperatedly.

"Darling, look at them, they are fighting just like we did when we met for the first time" Venessa heard an old woman say to her husband who was near to them.

The guy smirked hearing them.

"Ma'am I did give you space, you were the one tripping for me because of my handsomeness" he boasted himself cheekily.

"Oh yeah? Handsome?" She muttered angrily, dumping the whole cup on his shirt.

"God woman" the boy gritted his teeth before he snatched the nearest cup which was being held by someone else and dumped it on her, leaving her utterly shocked.

"What the freaking hot chocolate?" She gasped, looking at the iced coffee that sent shivers down her spine due to coldness.

"You freaking cockroach!" She shrieked, throwing her hands in the air.

"You idiotic frog," the guy replied in the same tone, mimicking her.

"You poisonous snake" she spat annoyingly.

"You annoying rabbit" he ridiculed her with a sweet smile on his face.

"You pig" She didn't back down, folding her hands tighter.

"Tortoise" he sang out the word in a tune.

She was just a step away from pulling his hair.

"You pussy cat" she huffed, folding her hands, suddenly finding it funny.

"And you a tigress?" He teased her, not mocking anymore.

That forced her to smile, even though she didn't want to show it.

"Oh and there's the pretty smile" he saw how her eyes lit up when he called her a tigress that he didn't want to tease her anymore, even if she was wrong.

"That's how a boyfriend should be" Both of them heard a girl hiss to her boyfriend beside her and walked away stomping her feet while the guy glared at the both who were drenched in coffee and walked away.

"Sorry guys, my girl is PMSing, I'll pay for the damage" the guy who was fighting with Venessa said mischievously, shooting a charming smile at the workers and picked up the two empty cups that they threw at each other.

Venessa snapped her eyes at him widely. My girl? They didn't even know each other's names for crying out loud.

"I told you they'll make a good couple" the old woman had happy tears in her eyes and Venessa didn't want to break her heart for some reason, but she surely wanted to break this stranger's face.

"I'm sorry I'll help you clean" Venessa told guiltily to one of the workers who brought two mops and grabbed one from them, cleaning the mess she created while the stranger snatched the one from the worker and helped Venessa clean.

After cleaning, the old woman offered to look after their luggage until the 'cute couple' according to her go get changed.

Venessa thanked her, grabbing her shoulder bag with a spare outfit and went to the washroom to change, cursing continuously under her breath, followed by the guy to the men's room.

"My girl huh?" She asked after she spotted him waiting right by the girl's washroom door as she changed herself into a cream-coloured t-shirt with flared brown trousers and open hair since the pony started hurting her.

"Well, you got calmed at least" he shrugged with a sheepish smile.

She narrowed her eyes at him playfully.

"Venessa, right?" He recognised her from a picture.

"How do you know?" Venessa asked, her ears perked up, brain on high alert that a stranger recognised her.

"Mason Wright, going to the U.S., too" the guy grinned, extending his hand for a handshake.

"Venessa George" Venessa said in an embarrassed tone, taking her hand in his, earning a chuckle.

"If you know it was me, why didn't you say anything earlier?" She asked, her hands falling to her sides, imagining herself burying in the inner core of the earth and disappearing on how she was behaving a few minutes ago.

"Your dad sent me a picture of you to recognise you, you'd have known that if you checked your mobile" he smirked smugly.

"Nice, now that we got introduced, let's go have something, I'm so damn hungry" Venessa asked, rolling her eyes, which sounded more like an order.

"After you" Mason didn't mind her energetic nature as he let her walk first, remembering how her dad told him that she can have bursts of energy out of nowhere and then sulk like a rabbit who just raced for ten miles.

"Are you a teenager or in your twenties?" Venessa asked as she slowed down, walking beside him.

"Teenager. I am in highschool, not a scientist's school, duh" Venessa smirked seeing 'offense' written all over his face.

"Why did you say yes?" Venessa asked, entering the Starbucks, looking for the old couple.

"About what?" he asked, going to the counter to place an order for both of them while he went to the old couple to take their luggage.

"Thank you so much for taking care of them," Mason smiled at the couple politely, his heart warming at how happy the old couple looked.

"Bless you" the woman smiled so wide that Venessa felt her own jaws hurt as she approached them.

She helped Mason take the suitcases to a small table with two chairs.

"You were asking something?" Mason asked after he brought the orders for them.

"Why did you say yes?" She asked, taking her strawberry creme frappuccino.

"What did I say yes for?" he asked, getting the same drink she brought.

She choked on the sip she took, coughing as she kept the cup aside, to avoid spilling on them again.

"Aye calm down" Mason raised himself up and patted her head gently, calming her down. She raised her eyebrows at him, noticing how comfortable he felt being close to her without making it awkward for them.

Few minutes later, she calmed down, her throat not threatening to close up anymore.

"Drink slowly, it's running away" Mason found himself saying, looking at the girl who looked like she'd dig the ground and bury herself up in awkwardness.

'Why am I so fucking clumsy today?' she thought to herself, hiding her face in her palms with a groan.

Venessa thought of Ashton, healing 'it's not running away' dialogue. That's what he used to say whenever she used to choke, to make her laugh.

"I accepted to take care of you, not like a babysitter, but like a friend. It sucked at first when I went to the school for the first time and I didn't want anyone to go through the same. Not a big deal, and-" he paused, grabbing her attention, His eyes falling on the locket she was wearing.

"I think I saw it somewhere" he blurted out without thinking.

"Ashton" both uttered at the same time, looking at each other in shock
