One day, I found a mysterious box while sweeping the front yard. Inside, I discovered a baby boy, whom we named Johnny. He became like a brother to me, and I cared for him deeply.
Johnny struggled with his left leg, which would often tremble. My foster parents worked hard to provide for his medical needs. He loved to draw, and my foster father would give him art supplies as birthday gifts.
In the kingdom of Geriyo, people possessed unique abilities. Mine allowed me to generate energy, which included repulsion and attraction. The Castellan ancestors built an academy to train and educate those with abilities.
Castellan Academy had always been my dream, but my foster parents couldn't afford it. Tragedy struck when they died in an accident. I was devastated, and Johnny was too young to understand.
He asked about them everyday but I always tell him that they are coming.
"When is mama and papa coming home?" Johnny asked one day. I felt a pang of guilt as I think of the lies I'd feed him.
"Mama and papa are never coming home again, they are gone" I whispered to him, holding back my emotions.
Years passed, and I worked as an apprentice under an herbal doctor. One day, while reading a book, I stumbled upon a drawing of a butterfly dagger. The doctor warned me that it was a forbidden magic, used for switching souls.
To switch souls, the dagger had to absorb enough blood from both individuals. I couldn't shake off the feeling that this dagger was connected to my fate.
On my 17th birthday, I felt an unusual excitement as I walked home from the store. Few lanterns illuminate the dark night casting soft glows on the street. I clutched my bag , humming my favourite song as I walked.
A figure approached me. It was a lady wearing a cloak, her face filled with tears.
"Are you alright" I asked worriedly
Before I knew it, she stabbed me with a dagger.
I gasped with my eyes widened , holding my abdomen, I lost my balance and staggered.
As I fell on the ground, I saw the lady's face, blurry and distant. I felt my life slipping away, and my thoughts turned to Johnny. Who would take care of him?
A light shone and my eye lid closed slowly
Never thought I would die
"Johnny" I whispered, my voice barely audible
Everything went dark, and I sank into unconsciousness.
I was falling into an endless abyss as butterfly shimmered in the darkness , surrounding my body.

I was confused and disoriented. Everyone treated me like I was special, but I knew I wasn't Amanda. I was Laura, and I had been switched into this new body.
As I navigated the academy, I encountered Amanda's friends, the Seven Castellan Devils. They seemed to know me, but I had no idea who they were.
I tried to fit in, but everything felt off. I was determined to uncover the truth about my switch and find a way back to my own body.
I entered the hall of Castellan Academy with my luggage. A lady ran to me and bowed. "Miss Amanda, you're welcome," she said.
"Thanks, please, who are you?" I asked politely, and she looked dazed for a moment.
"Oh, I'm sorry, miss. I am Lydia, your maid."
"My maid?" I asked, surprised.
"Yes, miss, you have a maid specially for you," she said with a smile and bowed again.
"Why?" I asked again.
"Because, you are Miss Amanda Lavander," she said, avoiding eye contact with me. I nodded, now understanding.
She wanted to collect my luggage, but I declined. "Don't worry, I'll carry it," I said, smiling, and she bowed.
Since I had gotten into this body, everyone treated me specially.
I remembered the day I woke up and found myself in a luxurious room. A man and woman stood beside the bed, smiling at me. The woman hugged me and caressed my face.
That's the day I realized I was switched, this wasn't my body. It was the body of Amanda Lavander, a student at Castellan Academy, the daughter of the most wealthiest family.
I cried for days, telling them I didn't belong here, but they thought I was speaking nonsense.
I accepted the facts, but I didn't accept it as fate.
I walked through the large hall, Lydia trailing behind me. In the middle of the hall, a huge chandelier hung from the ceiling.
I finally saw some students. "Look, it's Amanda!" a guy shouted.
The students looked at me and walked hurriedly away.
'What's wrong?' I thought. Is Amanda that scary, or is she a witch?
I paused my thought when I heard Amanda being called. I looked in the direction of the voice.
"Amanda!" a girl called, running towards me. I could see a group of people coming behind her.
"Amanda, are you okay?" she asked worriedly, her voice laced with concern.
"Yes, I'm fine," I replied.
I was sure these were Amanda's friends – the Seven Castellan Devils.
"Amanda, when we heard you got into an accident, we were so worried," a guy said from the group.
I didn't even know what their names were, but I checked the tags on their uniforms. Charlotte, Olivia, Max, Jasper, Kiara – their names were perfectly stored.
"Thank you so much, guys, but I'm perfectly okay now," I said with a smile.
Olivia exclaimed, "Wow, is this really you, Amanda?" I furrowed my eyebrow unsure of how to respond.
Kiara scoffed, "I think she lost her memory again." And Charlotte glared at her.
Jasper intervened, "Hey guys, it's okay. Amanda didn't lose her memory, so let's go."
Kiara said, putting emphasis on the word, "Thanks goodness you didn't call me a bitch as you usually do."
I will be going to my room," I said and walked away with my luggage, Lydia trailing behind me.
"Lydia," I called, and she ran to my side.
"Where's my room?" I asked.
"It's at the endpoint of the hall," she said.
I walked to the room, my mind racing with thoughts. Who was Amanda, really? And why did everyone treat me like I was her?
Gosh Laura, you are in Amanda's body, and they saw you as Amanda, so you have to be treated like her.
I opened the door to my room and found it to be a luxurious space, my eyes widened at the opulent decor. A huge princess bed dominated the room, surrounded by blue furnishings that sparkled in the light.
"Gracious goodness!" I breathed, taking the sight.
I felt out of place, but I knew I had to adapt. I was Amanda now, at least until I could figure out how to switch back.
But for now, I was stuck in Amanda's world, with her friends, her enemies, and her secrets.
As I looked around the room, I spotted a schedule on the desk. I picked it up, scanning the entries.
"Lydia, where's the dining hall?" I asked.
"I'll lead you there, Miss" she replied.
I shook my head, "Please don't bother, I can manage, just give me directions."
Lydia hesitated before providing the instructions. I thanked her and set off towards the dining hall, my heart racing with anticipation.
What would I find there? Would I be able to navigate this new world as Amanda, or would I stumble and reveal my true identity?
I pushed open the door, steeling myself for what lay ahead.
