Chapter 2 Nice meeting You

Hayden listened as the whispers grew louder,she was in such a hurry to escape paying her medical bills that she didn't notice she was without footwear.it dawn on her too late that she was actually barefooted on a busy street in an hospital wear.Her awkward appearance had attracted the weird glances and stares from people.

"I think she is crazy." A middle aged woman remarked.

"Why is she wandering around barefooted in a hospital garment? someone better grab her before she starts to bite." Another person snapped.

"She looks like she just escaped from an asylum."

The whispers grew more tense and before Hayden could think of reacting to it she noticed some of the people walking awkwardly towards her direction,her natural instincts told her to leave the scene as quickly as she could and so she did,she hastened her pace but the more she hastened the more she could feel the group behind her closing in on her and before she knew it her legs already did the thinking for her and she ran as fast as they could carry her.

"Look she's getting away." Someone screeched pointing in her direction.

In a whiz an entire mob had already formed behind her.

"Don't let her get away please." One of the people screamed as they all ran after her.

Hayden ran as fast as she could,her heart was racing from exhaustion and her mind spiralled.could the day get any worse,she thought.The universe was definitely conspiring against her, how did she go from being a regular girl to being chased like a mad woman on the street.The mob soon caught up with her,one of them grabbed her hand while another scooped her up.

"I swear I am fine,I am not mad." Hayden protested.

At that point a tough luck could only be an understatement,did she just escape from the hospital only to be brought back as a mad person?.she burst out laughing as the thought came to her, and soon she started wailing loudly,the people thought her lunacy was the cause and they quicken their steps.Hayden had already stop protesting,she knew no amount of it could save her now,no mad person would ever admit that they are actually mad.she was carried into the boot of a large truck,her hands and legs were strapped together to prevent her from escaping. She laid in the boot completely dejected and miserable,she thought about her granny and how worried she would,she had forgotten her bag at the hospital which contains her phone and other valuable items and she planned on going back but not like this,she thought to herself.

"Well,I guess I will eventually have to break my savings."she muttered solemnly.

The truck screeched to a halt,and Hayden knew they must have gotten to the hospital,the swallowed the lump that had already formed in her throat and braced herself for what to happen next.The men alighted from the truck and in a split second they threw Hayden on their shoulders,she just laid there and wonder what next her though luck had in store for her.As the guys marched into the hospital they were stopped abruptly.

"Drop her this instant!." A deep yet husky voice shook the air.The guys looked back a bit hesitantly,the voice roared again and this time it carried a cold, menacing authoritative tone that could send shivers.

"Are you related to her?"We found her wandering aimlessly on the street in this condition and we thought she might have escaped from the hospital."The guys narrated.

"Yes I know her and she is fine trust me." The voice said reassuringly.

The guys loosened their grip and Hayden wiggled herself out and in a mock expression she turned to them.

"I told you I was fine."she snapped battling her eyelashes.

"We're sorry for the misunderstanding,we were only trying to help, anyways we will be on our way." The guys scurried into the same truck they came with and Hayden cursed at them as they left.she look back at the person that just saved her and to her surprise it was the same guy from the hospital earlier.He had gotten a call from the doctor that the patient he brought was no longer in the hospital and though he knew about this he only came for the ritual of it.Hayden glanced at him wondering what he was doing at the hospital during that hour, probably he was sick she thought.

"Hello,I am Hayden,I see we meet again." she exclaimed

The guy just stared at her, and Hayden started thinking maybe there was something wrong with her looks other than what is already known,then he finally responded

"I am Caleb." He introduced himself.

"Thank you for today Caleb, you know for earlier and now."she cooed.

Caleb just stared at her amusingly,his phone buzzed at that moment.

"You're welcome Hayden right?" He asked to be sure but she just replied with a nod.

"It was nice meeting you but i have to go now." he declared

Without waiting for her to reply he hurried off.
