Chapter 5 Shopping

Hayden and Harper walked out of the hospital building panting like exhausted athletes,they had thrown a huge fit earlier when the doctor was reluctant to discharge Hayden on the account that she still needed some medical attention.

"Will you take responsibility for it, if she loses her new job" Harper snapped glaring at the doctor.

"Calm down miss,what I.........

He was cut short by Harper's shrilled scream

"She is the head of her family with five siblings and old parents and grandparents who solely depends on how,ohh God poor Hayden how is she going to survive this if she misses this once in a lifetime job opportunity " she dramatically burst out crying and Hayden joined.

"Oh I know what you can do" she pointed gazing at the doctor."you can go live with this handsome generous doctor here"

The doctor's expression wavered between shock and dismay,he only spared so much time because Mr Raymond personally entrusted her in his care but the girls made a huge fuss, the doctor had to let them go eventually.

"We need to go shopping first" Harper giggled as they both entered her car.

"Oh shopping!" Hayden exclaimed hitting her forehead.That was only necessary,she had nothing good in her closet for her scheduled interview and if she was going to work in a huge corporation like DELISH,she might as well just change her entire wardrobe.

"Don't worry babe,I have got you covered" Harper winked flashing her credit card.Though it feels nice to have a rich friend that can splurge on you anytime, Hayden hated to be the one always on the receiving end,Harper wasn't just a rich friend,she was her childhood friend,her granny used to work for her parents at their mansion when she was little and sometimes Hayden would tag along with her and that was how she met Harper,They basically grew up together raised by her granny because her parents were mostly away on one business trip or another.

"I owe you a fancy dinner after my first paycheck." Hayden replied smiling.

"You'd better, because I have to endure a boring evening with a strange man just for this" she scowled as she fired up the engine.

Hayden could literally see the flame oozing out of her eyes and she could not help but pity the poor guy.This wasn't the first time her parents had set her up on a blind date and each time she always made sure they never called back,ever.she had known her for years,but never seen her in a serious relationship before,Not that she wasn't pretty, infact she was an epitome of beauty,her long dark hair,rich amber eyes and nice curves always made boys drool over her."it's either one business partner son or the next or a bum who was just after her money" she'd always complain.Her parents marriage was more about business than love and she didn't want to repeat the same pattern,she longed for a different life, one driven by love.

They soon stopped at the big city mall,and the girls dashed out of the car.

"I need the kind of outfit that drives men nuts" Harper smirked as they entered the apparel section.

"Easy now girl, remember you are chasing him away and not the other way round".

"I know and that's exactly why I need to make sure he gets the message, he'd regret the day he came he contact with me." Harper cackled wickedly.

"How about this one?" One of the store assistants suggested.it was a bold red dress that would definitely accentuate her curves.

"Bingo" she purred tucking her hair behind her ear."This is just perfect,pack it up please".

She turned to look at Hayden who was still pickled about the outfit she would go for.

"Need some help?"

"They all look nice,I don't know the one to pick,what do you think about this?" She asked but Harper just turned to the assistant and said

"We will take all of it".

"No Harper,this is too much "

"Trust me Hayden,it looks are considered a big factor if you are to work in a corporation like DELISH "

Hayden knew this but she didn't want to smooch off her friend.

"But"

"No buts" Harper snapped placing her index finger on her lips.

"Now let's go get some bags and heels,I need to go home early to map out my plans for the evening " she grinned dragging Hayden along with her.
