Chapter 6 Is Something Wrong

ANGELA'S POV

Gary and I lay panting heavily on the bed, our entire bodies filled with sweat. Just a few seconds ago, we had sex, again. I told myself I wanted to get to the bottom of this whole cheating saga but Gary was just too good with his words, his mouth and his hands. And before I knew it, I found myself in bed with him. I turned to him, and his face was a picture of pure bliss. He seemed to enjoy having sex with me as much as I enjoyed having sex with him So it did not make sense that he would be cheating on me. I had given him everything that he currently had and I had changed his life. Was he really going to throw all of that away just for some new pussy? Were all men that stupid? Gary realized that I was looking at him then and he turned to me, a smile on his face. "What? You want to go another around?" He asked me, a teasing tone in his voice. Although he sounded teasing, I knew that he was serious. I had no idea where all of his strength came from. He could go several times a night and it really wore me out. I shook my head, deciding to focus on the issue at Jane. I did not want to be distracted. "I want to ask you something, Gary," I started the conversation simply. He seemed to realize that I was serious and the smile disappeared from his face. "Is something wrong? Is the company....." I shook my head, cutting him off before he could finish. "No, it's not any of that," I said. "I wanted to ask you, did you have a girlfriend before we met each other?" I realised that I had not asked this question before. My father had been on my case and I did not want to lose the CEO position I fought hard for and so I did the first thing I could think of. What if he had a previous relationship and he was cheating on me with her now?! Gary shook his head seriously. "No, do you think that I would not have told you about it I did have a girlfriend?" Gary asked me, a bit of annoyance in his voice. I felt a bit guilty questioning him like this. For all I knew, I could be wrong. But I refused to back down. It was better for me to be wrong than for me to find out later on that he had indeed been cheating on me. I would not let a man walk all over me like that. "Really?" I edged him on. "Of course yes, I did have a girlfriend but we broke up a few months before we met. She left me for some richer guy" Gary said, annoyed. I chuckled lightly. I did not blame the so-called girlfriend for leaving. Everyone wanted to move up in life. If she found someone better, then it was only right that she should take it. "Then let me get straight to the point, Gary. Are you cheating on me?" I asked. I stared at Gary directly when I asked him this, and for the next few seconds, we were locked in a stare, either one of us not backing down. Gary finally scoffed and looked away from me. "I can't....I can't believe that you would think this way about me! You really think that I am cheating on you?" He snapped at me. "There is no need for you to raise your voice at me," I said calmly. "Well, if you really want to know, I am not cheating on you. I have never looked at another woman ever since we got married. I know how much I have to lose if I mess up so I won't do something so foolish!" Gary assured me. I still did not completely trust his words. He was a man. Why should I trust a man so blindly? "Well, I hope for your own sake that you are telling me the truth. I won't forgive you if you are lying to me!" I said firmly. "You know, your life would be so much easier if you trusted the people around you. You don't need to treat everyone like they are your enemies!" Gary snapped at me once again. "You.....!" Before I could unleash my anger on him, he walked away from the bedroom. I was left alone with a belly full of anger and nowhere to vent it. Damn him! Who did Gary think he was?! He didn't know me! ..... "What?! You really accused him of cheating on you?!" I took a sip of my wine as Fiona screamed. I had always thought that she was overdramatic. She had come to visit me and we were talking about what had happened between Gary and I. "It was just a question. He just had to answer. What's the big deal?" I asked, confused at her reaction. Fiona shook her head, exasperated. "Do you really not see what is wrong with this? You are a married couple. If you ask him something like this, it's just going to seem as if you don't trust him!!" She chided me. I shrugged, absentmindedly. "Our marriage is one of convenience. We don't know each other well and so it makes sense that we don't trust each other," I explained. Fiona shook her head and walked over to my side. She sat next to me and took my hand. "Fiona, you can't be this way. No matter what, Gary is a man. You are already far off better than him. Don't you know that his ego is going to be hurt if you treat him like this?" She asked me. I sneered and looked up at Fiona. "If his ego gets hurt because of something so simple, then maybe I made the wrong choice to marry him!" I said coldly. Just then, my phone rang with a notification. I had to get a message. My face lit up in a smile when I saw the message was from Skye. However, just a few seconds later, the smile disappeared off my face. I looked at Fiona coldly. "Fiona, did you know Gary before we met?"
