Chapter 10 Exile

Author's POV

"If you won't leave my sister, after everything I warned you, you still claim to me that you pick Lily over everything. Fine. Leave this park for good. And don't ever return. Don't ever sneak in. And if anybody catches you, they will kill you instantly. Since you picked Lily over everything, I just want to remind you, Lily will still not be yours."

The Alpha said to Tobias, who did not even flinch. He knew that no matter what option he picked, the Alpha would not favor him again. He knew how the Alpha's reaction usually used to be. And he was already used to it. He knew how he punished people who went against him. And he was not surprised if it happened again.

"I see you are being very stubborn and you don't want to listen to me. Fine. He is hereby sentenced to life banishment from this park," the Alpha said again as the council member stood up.

"Alpha, you can't just do that. You can't just make such decisions out of your own emotions. Think about others. Think about Lily. Do you really want your sister to walk around wolfless? Do you know what people say about her if she does not have a mate?

She would have a mate because she has Derek by her side. And he's ready to risk everything for her. And I am also ready to risk everything. So she would be with Alpha Derek. Do you understand?" he said.

The Alpha said to the council member they were not going to keep quiet. Everyone loved Tobias. He was always a sincere person. Only the Alpha was not seeing his sincerity. Because this time around it had to do with his sister. But everybody knew that Tobias was a very honest person.

"Honestly, we cannot support your decision, Alpha. You also have to listen to us. You also have to hear our opinion. Hear from us. And the only truth we can tell you is that he can't go. The park will not allow it. If they find out your reason for banishing your loyal better who has been your head warrior for years. Do you think they would not riot against you? They will. They would not agree to this," one of the council members warned, for the Alpha scoffed.

"Then no one would ever hear about it. It would end in this meeting. And anybody who dares to spread it would be killed instantly or banished. Just like Tobias," the Alpha said.

As Lily could not keep quiet again, she pushed past the guards and stood in front of her brother.

"You really hate me that much, don't you? You really just don't see the truth. You don't see what I pass through. Because you are the Alpha and because you have everything. Because you were the firstborn and our parents left everything to you. You never cared about me. You never cared about my situation and what I am passing through. Do you even know what I have to pass through? Staying behind your shadow. Having to be the best. Having to grow up with so many expectations still. Yet you never gave me the attention and time. Yet again you are claiming that Alpha Derek is the perfect person. Do you think I don't know why you continuously pick Alpha Derek? It's because he is the only one who is ready to be your alliance in everything you want to do in your future endeavors. You need Alpha Derek. That is why you are doing this. But Tobias can also do better. He can also help you. He has been with you most of your life. Since you were young, you have known Tobias. He has been serving this family ever since he was a child. And this is how you pay him back? You banished him out of your park. Do you think it makes sense? You don't love me. I am not doing this because I am your sister. You are only doing this because it will not benefit you," Lily said out of bitterness, making the Alpha even more angry.

"If you say another word, then you would also be getting banished to a place where you never expect. Do you really think I am not doing this because of you? Do you know the kind of shame it would be if they find out that you did not see anybody to become your mate? But the better my own brother who was brought into this park like a slave. Do you know what that means? It's like you marrying a slave despite being a princess. Do you even listen to yourself? Did you know how high the park members carry you because you are the princess? Do you want them to see you as a nobody because you decided to follow the better?"

Think about it, he said to her.

But one of the council members stood up.

"If the people would complain about Lily's decision, what do you think they will say about you betraying your friend of so many years just because you want an alliance with a man you knew nothing of? Even if you get to banish him today, the park members will get to find out. And it will not go as well as you think," the council member warned.

Even though the Alpha knew that the council members were right, after all, they were elders who knew a lot about the park and who had lived here for centuries. So they knew how things were supposed to go. But still, the Alpha did not accept. Not because of any of the reasons they accused him of, but because he sought Tobias as his friend and felt betrayed. Nothing hurt him more than the fact that he was betrayed.

"If only Tobias had come to him and let him know that he and Lily were mates, he would have thought about it and if possible, given it a chance. But instead, they went behind his back and did the unspeakable." It made the Alpha very angry.

"I have given my final decision. And that is Tobias gets to be banished. I am not changing my mind, no matter what you tell me. If the news wants to spread, let it spread. I will deal with all those later. But for now, I am sticking to my word. And nobody here is going to change that," he said and stood up as he stormed away, getting close to Tobias as he bumped shoulders with him without even looking at him for a soul-searching second as Tobias crashed down to the ground with his knee.

He ran his hands through his hair in frustration. He knew this would happen. He wanted to avoid this badly, but how could he have done that? Lily was his mate, and he had come to love her over the years.

Lily was unable to bear this as she fought the guards and rushed to Tobias. She crawled to him on the ground as most of the park members were surprised, muttering words to themselves. The council members also could not do anything as they signaled for the guards to go and get everything ready to drive Tobias out of the park for good. He was going to leave everything behind and take nothing with him. He was going empty just as he had come.

Lily held Tobias's cheek as her hand shook in fright. She cupped it tightly and lifted it up as she stared at him. She was in so many tears. And even though Tobias was breaking down from within, unable to hold it in, he still tried to stay strong.

"You cannot just leave like that. Beg him. Plead with him. Tell him to give us a chance. Tell him you would serve him. Tell him you would accept anything he gives to you. Please don't just leave. Don't let him push you away like this," Lily pleaded.

But Tobias shook his head sideways.

"There is nothing I can do. I won't blame your brother. I betrayed him and he's the Alpha. He can give his decision. All you have to do is just obey him because you are his sister and no matter what you do, you still have to be with him."

."You still have to be under his care. Because even I cannot take care of you the way he will," Tobias said to Lily, who shouted in anger.

"You have to fight for us. Please don't do this. I also wanted you to stay. I didn't want this to happen. But I want you to fight for us. Claim me and let me go with you. Take me with you. Please plead with him. If he doesn't want you to stay, then let him. Let me follow you," she pleaded in tears as Tobias's heart shattered.

Seeing Lily breaking down right in front of him, he could not bear the pain. But he knew that there was nothing he could do. He wouldn't even ever get the chance to stand in the same room with the Alpha anymore. All the council members could not leave because they felt heartbroken and they knew that whatever the Alpha did was injustice to Tobias.

Despite Tobias's years of loyalty to this park, the guards knew they had to take Lily out of there before the Alpha ordered it. Lily still continued to plead with Tobias to please not let her live without him. But it was too late. As the guards lifted her up and dragged her away, leaving Tobias on the ground chained.

The council members came as one of them bent down to the same height as Tobias and placed his hand on him.

"You should have begged. You should have pleaded with him to give you a chance. Why did you still act stubborn? Yes, we knew that you have been loyal to him and what he did was not good. But you still should have begged for your life," the council member said as Tobias looked at him, his eyes all red with anger.

"After everything they have done, do you really think begging him would have changed anything? You wanted him to feel like he had won, and he did not win. Because this was my right. It can happen to anyone. So just because his sister and I ended up being mates, he had to treat me this way. Despite all my years of serving him. Ever since I was a child, I had served him like he was my God. And this was how he treated me. He banished me and I wouldn't beg him. He would realize his mistake very soon," Tobias said as he stood up.

Not even waiting for the council members, he signaled for the guards to come and take him away. Even though they were scared to escort their own leader out of the park for good, they knew they had to follow the Alpha's order. Tobias was going to be banished and sent to exile for good.

Despite the fact that the council members and everyone who was there in the meeting tried their best to keep whatever was happening a secret, it was not happening that way. Instead, it spread, and all the pack members immediately found out about it. Everyone was amazed. Some blamed Tobias, but most of them knew Tobias as a righteous person and wouldn't have done something as unspeakable as that without a reason.

Some of them even labeled Lily as the bad person. As the news continued to spread, the Alpha watched from his room as Tobias was escorted out of the palace. He was released from his chains and given ordinary clothes to wear. As he stepped out, he noticed that eyes were boring holes in his back as he turned around, and the Alpha stared at him with a deep frown.

Not feeling resentful about what he was about to do, Tobias did not say a word. He uttered not a single word as he entered the car, and it was about to drive off when Lily came out. Still looking tired and ashy, she banged on the boot of the car, pleading with Tobias to come out, but yet Tobias did not.

As he clenched his fists, he felt so angry because he did not get the chance to love Lily the way she was supposed to be loved. As he watched her banging on the window for him to come out, he couldn't help but pity her. She had gone through a lot, yet this was how he was going to leave her. He wondered who would watch over her, who would take care of her the way he always did.

She pleaded with him to please let them see each other for months. But Tobias did not let it happen. As he ordered the driver to drive away, in no time, the car left the palace and soon left the park. Tobias was sent out for good, and Lily broke down, unable to believe she had lost him for good.
